  • There are only two versions in the world of airsoft of the HK MK23, there is the TM none blowback which includes the clones of this by ASG and Novritsch. This the only Gas Blowback and officially licenced version by Umarex with only a few made each year this truly is a rare piece.

Hello, and 1000 thanks for this video, full of good infos, in plain understandable english, and without psycadelic stupid back ''music''/sounds. I am 59 y/o now, love technical toys, specialy replica guns. Where I live it is complicated to own a 6mms replica without being an airsoft player, wich is my case. I do not intent to play airsoft, I just want to collect some realistic replica guns, and they never leave my place, but here it is impossible ... I must thanks to your other viewers that wrote their comments here. I wish I could buy this very model in Spain of France if I knew where. I have a thing for japanese replicas but with the exception of TM and maybe sometimes KSC I did never saw others here... This one is so realistic!!! I never saw the real steel so far, but I got many pictures here to compare!! I will watch all your channel, for sure!!

back when KWA made their guns (I believe they set up a factory right inside the states) however their guns were equal to cybergun who ALSO at the time not only owned almost every trade rights out there but also made shit guns. in 2005 everyone knew to stay tf away from KWA, CYMA. and Cybbergun - but KWA and especially cybergun are now good products because KSC and VFC have always been high quality, full metal licensed version's of essentially TM level gun's.

    Hello, nice video!
My first ever pistol was KWA MK23, I loved this thing so much because of its real life reputation I went balls to the wall, had 2 of them, a standard one and the version with the complete steel RA Steel Slide set.
I really do hate to burst your bubble, but unfortunately this thing is absolute shite.
Firstly, this is derived from the KSC Japanese Made USP series which for their time were honestly excellent pistols.
The KWA MK23 is derived from the KWA USP type pistols (which are supposed to be an improved system from KSC) but the 'system 7' really is not that improved...
Just to name a few issues:
-As per your chrono segment, indeed its shooting very hot
-The hop system using the key designed by KWA is painfully bad, and will constantly un-adjust itself
-Despite the plastic outer barrel, the bbu design just isn't good enough to power the slide, and even with the rather large mags, they just dont send gas through the pistol well enough, you'll really struggle to power through a single mag in mild weather. (there does exist an aftermarket bbu called volante to the tune of £100+, but they were long out of production by the time I got around to it) and the slide in general is just made of a really ugly zinc casting with a poor finish
-you will eventually have internal breakages, namely the trigger bar and trigger (the disassembly of this pistol is the hardest I've ever seen for an airsoft gbb replica)
-the outer barrel lockup is also prone to snapping near the barrel pivot point
-the slide lock will eat itself alive, not to mention the spring is extremely easy to lose and not captive (unlike the marui USP)
-The nozzle spring design is placed very weird, and it can get stuck and destroy the spring
It still had some decent positives, like the frame moulding is extremely good quality, and the stock trigger is unmatched to any other pistol replica I've tried to date
I really really wanted to love this thing, but eventually I just had to let it go, and went with a Marui USP full size
everyday I pray that marui finally make a MK23 using their new 15mm BBU system
Again, not to put a downer on it but it still fetches nicely as a collectors piece,
but for £200 out the box alone these issues are honestly inexcusable.

    • @andrewsnelson
      @andrewsnelson Před rokem

Sorry you had a bad experience with yours dude, for me having a gbb version was the way, as the long dubble action pull of the marui and fake controls was just a turn off, my hop has held true from day one and I've stripped it down to swap to a short inner barrel for cqb many times now but still the hop holds straight. I will agree marui make good pistols overall 👍 I own several. I would love marui to make a gbb version of the mk23 but they never will.

Glad your experience with it is positive! Do still be aware of some of the other issues, but they won't come till you've run a good amount of bbs through it
Absolutely, the GBB MK23 was the way for me too, it was never unwieldy for me with medium size hands, It was so cool I couldn't ever picture myself using another pistol.
and yes that's an extremely sad truth, their NBB MK23 is still one of their best sellers, and there's not much need for them to bother doing a GBB as well as there being a demand.

@@Dizzyfatpigeon thanks for the comments, I have put a fair amount of rounds through it now and quite a few matches at my local site and its been a dream, I guess kwa have done a vfc thing and just made little improvements to parts over the years so now they seem to last. I think also the problem most have is the 3rd party upgrades people do to them like when they get a marui hi-capa and put a steel slide and barrel, mapleleaf inner barrel and hop bucking, new trigger and still 1 say its a marui and 2 when it brakes blame marui. Tokyo marui, kwa, vfc, ghk, you name it spend millions on development and we just mess with it. Other than me swaping the inner barrels around for wether I'm indoor cqb, or outside where the fps is allowed to be higher etc mine is still stock. If it dose brake though I will just get another, even if its just for me plinking around haha. Once again thanks 😊

i'm sorry but there is so much inaccuract and outright false claims in this post that all i can say is: you don't have any idea what you're talking about apparently/
I'm gonna guess you've maybe been playing with airsoft for a few years at a stretcj bit likely less than 18 months if you're spouting THIS much utter nonsense. lol @ the "made fro the USP and their ns2 system *more words...dunno wtf im talking about...more subjective and personal experiences". The NS2 is KSC tech but KWA rebranded it as NS2. That's why you're seeing all new KWA's have "system 7 2" or system 7 v2. It literally says IN THIS VIDEO on THE PACKAGING "KSC/KWA" and then to top it off you say it's hard to disassemble. God I hope if you're saying this you're at least talking about the significantly easy slide and receiver takedown/complete stripping. You need NO parts NO tensioner's or tools other than a flathead or a phillips) except for the decocking lever and that is a small and easy spring to place back in since it doesn't work like most guide springs as they are extra long (unless they are similar to modern recoil springs on these newer gens of KWA but that didn't even start till like 3-4 years ago..
Do you REALLY think KWA was like "here I'll help ya out ksc! WE WILL make the guns, AND pay for the licensing with our geman partners at Umarex and just for kicks we'll keep your name on the box for old time sake"
Btw your issue with what you believe to be a "weak hammer spring" or "overpowered recoil spring" is what i HOPE you meant to say as the BBU play little role at all other than the type of valve it is. And any inconsistencies with getting a lemon can be mitigated in 1 minute using a gas key, some water and a metal file and opening the valve within the mag to be as open as possible (but if you or even anyone wants to try this please read how first or even I'll explain it if you'd like. If you file in the wrong spot you'll need a new valve)
You could also just cut a small bit of the spring if it's too snappy/not snappy enough as depending which way your describing this issue makes very little sense. All GBBP's are meant to fire 60/40 pressure (not TM or any other plastic gas powered gun that can take black gas which I've always ran in my KSC airsoft usp and the KWA/UMAREX .177 bb shooter being C02 with a stiffer spring that worked like a Glock gen4+ vs the way the MK23 is shown here which is how my old KSC airsoft gun works.) to the BBU and THEN the inner barel. (instead of saying nonsense like 'yeah kwa made the NS2 and the system 7 wasn't even better" when NS2 came AFTER system 7 v1 when KWA already owned the rights to sell KSC product's here. Without their trades and reliable and crisp BBU QC their [Japanese ver especially as that's the only KSC experience I have other than rebranded KWA products including my lm4 ris [YES - it TOO is a KSC m4 without trades because KWA is US based and therefore orange muzzle's are required meaning that there is no real benefit of even paying to license the trade's as it won't be a collector's piece to everywhere else that doesn't need an orange tip. Hence the LM4 PTR series. Designed for ATF and DEA and other law enforcement training weapons which were readily identifiable and distinguishable from bright laser etched markings vs engraved non lasered in trades on top of also having a bright orange muzzle). I think KSC m4's can only be bought directly from KSC's factory in Taiwan though otherwise you're stuck with the KWA with no trades nor any magazine markings and a few other cosmetic changes)

  • @SecretKnowledge_IKnowTooMuch

Actually KSC has always made a "Taiwan" and "Japan" version, but then Japan made the metal slide's illegal (likely to boost their TM products) so they sold a large piece of stock to KWA who work with Umarex which (like HK) is located in Germany. The first GBBP i bought back in 05 was a KSC Japan version USP with Engraved TM's (not scratch-offable laser paint etching that was found on the taiwan version. But the taiwan version had "heavy weight" and "metal" version's too - it's just the Japan one had better trades.
Now that Japan can't have metal slides KSC opted to continue their factory in taiwan (thus they couldn't make their high quality japan varient anymore) so that's why they let KWA market their products. No different than ASG or CyberGun
