Allen welcomes a new addition to the farm, an adorable lamb named Baby Zoe. But this cute little thing has tons of personality, and she's already got Allen chasing her around the corral!
Have a question for Allen? He'll be checking in regularly, so be sure to leave your comments and questions below.
A farm wouldn't be a farm without animals. From sheep to chickens to donkeys, there are a lot of helping paws, claws and hooves at P. Allen Smith's Garden Home Retreat. In 2009, inspired by a childhood spent on the farm raising and showing livestock and poultry, Allen Smith founded the Heritage Poultry Conservancy, an organization dedicated to the preservation and support of all threatened breeds of domestic poultry. P. Allen Smith is an award-winning designer and lifestyle expert and host of two public television programs, P. Allen Smith's Garden Home, P. Allen Smith's Garden to Table and the syndicated 30-minute show P. Allen Smith Gardens.

Hi there everyone, thanks for checking in on our lamb. Docking Zoe's tail is actually less painful for her than the alternative- we dock the tail to keep a lambs rear end clean because a longer tail traps a mess and attracts flies, particularly the biting kind.
Cute little lamb!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love baby lambs they are so cute😄
+Ammar Ahmad
They really are! We just got a new one around here and she is adorable!! :)
I'm glad the guy treats the animals with respect! God Bless
Would you say killing animals is treating them with respect?
If that doesn't looks like cognitive dissonance, I don't know what is.
*Would you say cutting someone's body part is respectful?*
He is going to cut his freacking tail!
Ha, thats his $$$$
Thats all the farmer cares about

LAMBS SHOULD NOT BE FOOD . THEY ARE CUTE AND DESERVE A LIFE
Lambs are pure, simple, playful, gentle, and peaceful and deserve a life and should not be food
I agree that's how i found this video..searching for lambs i love them
So what do we do when they're dead? Bury them?
Yeah don't kill lambs only when they're in certain months
Its okay if you slaughter the neck then no pain since the jugulism gone
Thank you for sharing this . Our family love the sweet lambs and look forward to seeing more videos of farm life. God bless.
We just got our new baby lamb and it's so peaceful
and beautiful to watch little Adelina with her mother Bella!!
Such wonderful creations :)
Lucky! Please take good care of it as they all deserve to be taken care of. Pretty disgusted at these CZcams videos showing how people can be so cruel to an animal like this. God Bless!

Yeah, we recently had a problem with a neglectful neighbor letting his dog be at large. It has killed over 36 of our chickens, pigeons, ducks and chicks. Yesterday it attacked little Adelina and we took her to the vet thankfully she survived but that was the last straw on those troublesome neighbors. Hopefully this dilemma is resolved soon..
Sheep are beautiful creatures.
For those of you who don't agree with the lamb's tail being docked in the future, I'd like to share some big reasons:
1. Hygiene (manure gets stuck on wool - removing the tail helps a lot)
2. Preventing flystrike (flies are drawn to soiled wool; flystrike is where flies come and their maggots eat the animal's flesh. This hurts a lot and can kill!)
The docking is often done by banding (a tight band is applied, and without circulation, the tail shrivels up and falls off on its own). It and a few other methods are the least painful, and much better than having the tail sliced off (which hurts a lot, is messy, and really dangerous). If the sheep is too old, the tail will be docked surgically.
All of this is done to keep the animal alive and healthy.
I hope that cleared up some things for you guys! Have a good day.
What a cute lil' lamb! :D
Great,video so,beautiful and very sweet, so,priceless, watching,baby,,with,sweet mom,I,love,the,both 😍🤩😎🙄🙄😘🤣😁🦓🦓
What a wonderful world.

1:54 wow that's a really fast sheep in the background!
Lol
I adore the part when he lets the lamb go back to his mommy
It's funny how you can distinguishing the ignorant and weak from the strong and smart on this comments section. "Mmmm lamb chops" vs "How lovely a world we live in to have animals such as this." Which one is ignorant...
Thank You for the Video I enjoyed it I love lambs♡
i still think it's amazing how animals can have such strong innate maternal instincts...
The atheist will say: "well, it all began with the big bang!"
I agree

Poor mom yelling to her baby and the baby was telling her she was fine. But I really wished that he would have not held the baby as long as the mother is worried for it's baby. awwww SOOOOOO CCCCCUUUUUTTTTEEE
How can you not love this guy! Great videos, wish I could live on a farm. Thanks for all your videos.
Please stop killing these lambs for food 🥘 it's sad!!!
No kidding. There are so many things to eat without any beautiful, peaceful, ba-a-a-ing lambs and sheep being harmed or killed;
All fruits, all vegetables, all grain products (bread, cereal, pasta, etc.), all nuts, all beans, legemes, and lentils, all soy and whey products, tofu, and so many kinds of desserts lik cakes, cookies, pies (as long as they're not meat pies), etc.
And that above is vegan food, everything that you can eat without any animals being harmed or killed.
There are more foods you can add to the list where no lambs and sheep are harmed or killed, although sadly other types of animals still are harmed or killed; beef, chicken, pork, fish, seafood, eggs, and any dairy products. Still, no lambs and sheep are harmed or killed to eat those foods.
So, anyone who tries to say that people will starve if they stop slaughtering lambs and sheep is being ignorant and heartless.
I can NOT handle the thought of any simple, innocent, playful, gentle, peaceful lambs and sheep being harmed or killed. And, I'd greatly prefer if no animals were. I'm just having trouble being able to completely drop meat and dairy from my diet. But, I have completely stopped eating lamb and any meat or dairy from sheep. They're just the most innocent, pure, and peaceful animals of all
@Moneyxl00, it has gotten worse, you're right about that
@Moneyxl00, I am unable to completely eliminate meat from my diet, but I have given up eating lamb because lambs have even more peaceful natures than the other farm animals. I absolutely hate any animals suffering though. Because of that combined with me still finding it too difficult to completely give up meat, I'll keep the mindset that I definately do sit easier with pigs, cattle, and any birds (chickens, turkeys, ducks) being slaughtered if they are stunned 100% unconscious first and endure ZERO suffering. But, the problem is that too many slaughterhouses don't abide by those rules strickly enough, because laws in America do not lean hard on how farm animals are treated. I mean, you see beef, pork, and chicken under cellofane at every grocery store and on the menus at most restaurants, so people aren't going to be arrested for mistreated those animals as they would if they physically harmed a cat or a dog. But, I still wish that slaughterhouses would be more strict about stunning the animals 100% unconscious and making sure that they never even begin to regain conciousness from the second they're stunned to the second they pass away from their blood being drained from their cut throats.
@@alvexok5523 WORSE IS NOT EVER CLOSE..it's insane!!!!

Awwwww
so beautiful. what a nice video and like how it included what the breed of the sheep was
Very nice)))
Cute, cuter, LAMBS!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Why am I watching this? It's 2 am. That lamb is a qt tho.
Aww yeah, most likely already been eaten!
Feel guilty for all them lamb doners I use to have in the past. All I can say lambs/sheeps. I'm so sorry, but thankfully I'm at least vegan now! :)
You should not feel guilty.
I love meat
@@SapphireBones , I'm having too much trouble giving up meat also, but I'm still going to keep trying to, it's really a tough habit to break. What I've done so far is: 1) I've completely stopped eating lamb and any meat from a sheep, because lambs and sheep are just the most pure, innocent, and peaceful animals of all. 2) I try to avoid eating animals with the higher levels of intelligence and emotions, such as pigs, cows, and any bird meat (chicken, turkey, duck, etc.), but I am still eating fish, seafood, and eggs. 3) I'm only eating organic dairy because that's the only kind of dairy where the cow's calves aren't slaughtered so the cow's milk only goes to us. With organic dairy, they make sure that the cow's milk is going to us and feeding their calves. That's to my understanding anyway. So, I'm working at it. And even when I'm eating meat, I pray every single time that that animal was stunned 100% unconscious and did not suffer for even one millisecond
"Not much feeling in the tail"
That's funny. My sheep love their tails scratched.
We don't have the same fly issues here in America as they have in the UK. Docking is unnecessary.
Different people are saying different things about the tail docking. Some people, including the guy in this video, say that lambs don't have alot of feeling in their tails and don't really suffer from getting them docked. But other people, and videos, keep saying how cruel docking lambs tails is, and how the lambs getting their tails docked are suffering horribly from it and definitely feeling alot of pain from it. So which is it? I don't know. Like with many questions in life, one person will think complete opposite from the next.
@@alvexok5523 There are nerve endings in the tail. They have feeling in it. End of story.
This isn't a question of which is it. The reality is, science already has the answer. Unless of course you'd like to test it out and chop off one of your ears as a test since it doesn't have a lot of feeling in it. Just a few nerve endings. Should be painless, right?
@@darcy9867, I believe you. The guy in this video trying to say how painless the tail docking is was obviously wrong.
I'll leave my ears alone, thank you. Lol
dis little guys cute
Love him

At 2:00 that sounded so fake, like a person imitating it 😆 Endearing nonetheless.

sometimes I wish that there are no humans on this Earth so there won't be any living beings harming these beautiful animals...
sheep dominated earth muahahaha
they would suffocate in their own wool.
Sheep apocolypse
I don't see how a sheep apocalypse would be bad
I mean...baaaaaaaaaaaaad
If I want to keep like 2 sheep just for pets what are the things I have to do to maintain there health drenching, flytagging ect?
ehow has thought me so many things without me even being aware of it
docking is mean!!!
Guess what P Allen Smith? Dorpers are a hair sheep breed and don't need their tales docked (because they shed, instead of growing wool). No good reason to do it, and tail injuries can cause ewes to have prolapse problems at lambing time. Plus you miss out on all the tail wagging, which is how you know when a lamb or sheep is happy and doing well...
Lmao it said “ mooooooooommmm”
I think we should add lambs to the same category as dogs and cats, in that they're not meant to be eaten. watching this video makes me want to become a vegan
Lol fuck that!
I eat meat but I honestly have never eaten sheep, I think they are ment for wool, not meat.
Alexis Wilson No one eat's sheep, it's disgusting (mutton). But we do eat lamb which is baby sheep.
That's awesome men! start by refusing to eat lamb, perhaps you'll find it easy and cut other meats too! :)
CZcams Comments Suck . Please don't eat the sheep or the lambs. They should only be just for wool, which doesnt harm them.it is shaved the animals are not hurt to get the wool fur.
Lambs rock... I want to tackle one. Some how, I imagine it would be like slamming into a faint pillow o:
I want a baby pink sheep
cute
the mom sounds angry
It's because the guy's holding her lamb, she's a good mother, good mother sheep are very protective of their lambs. A rejecting mother sheep would not have paced around bleating, she would've just quietly walked off somewhere and then head-butted the lamb away when he went back to her, which this ewe clearly did not do when the guy let him walk back to her. And, you can see in this video when he's not holding the lamb how the mother won't let him leave her side. She's by his side every minute. She's a good sheep who loved her lamb
"dock its tail": that is absolutely barbaric.
highskullgirl Did you even listen to what he said? He's going to dock the tail "where there's not much feeling", where there are hardly any nerves; it wouldn't feel a thing.
SummerOf1115 hardly and not at all are two distinct feelings you fuck
Highskullgirl: Barbaric like male baby circumcision? Wondering....?
janine rivera when u become a mother giving birth a child, a lot things happen, a lot of people see your personal t, some time C section, some time mother die, or baby, or both, so don't make baby ok
Not quite. It is an ancient practice, but it helps prevent flystrike (which is really gross and can kill).
If they can, many farmers try to use the least painful methods, such as banding.
Now you know a reason why lambs get their tails docked :)
Yeah, i might become vegan too, i love babby lambs, they are to die for!!
common many parents circuncise their babies so is not just on animals

On a farm, do you have to clean up sheep's poop? I am thinking about raising some sheeps on my 66 acre property, but I would hate to clean up their poop.....
im thinking to raise sheep too, you dont need to clean the poop at all, it comes out aš really dry bubbles its almost cute haha
I have a lamb my grandma has one
Did it have poop on its tail also i want that lamb

Well, I guess another lamb ready to become lamb chomps on our plate.
I wish i could have a pet ship :)
Looks delicious
if you said a baby human looks delicious people would call you a fucked up psychopathic cannibal, but when you say a cute little baby sheep looks delicious it's PERFECTLY fine... morality doesn't make much sense
you sick f#ck. I hope you get punched in the face
I eat lamb all the time. It's delicious. I was picturing a leg ready to roast when I said it. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, much of it cutting meat. I've also cut still warm animals up before and seen the delicious looking meat come from under the skin. Maybe I'm just more connected to my food.
Quit acting like a jack-off.
