How does anyone just walk right by and not stop to listen for a moment ?
Because she needs ORIGINAL songs to spin and weave her beautiful voice around....as the vast majority of folk would have passed on by having already seen and heard her many times...it's called "taking talent and gifts for granted".....par for the course these days as so many wannabees are being plugged on TV ENTERTAINMENT shows, then cast away so quickly.
I'm more than up for the task of writing something original for you....if it interests you Rachel.
Simply answer..THAT PEOPLE ARE HEARTLESS AND HAVE NO EMOTIONS !
Would have to stop all the time hundreds of street performers in the big cities... its almost like saying why didn't they stop and listen to the radio playing wonderful melody, its just common today.

Imagine encountering such a stunning performance and performer and being so involved your daily activities that you don't even stop to listen...

My wife and I visited York last week and enjoyed our lunch sat down listening to this very talented singer for about an hour. We enjoyed every song she sang and we even bought a CD. Such a lovely polite young lady.

@@tracykingston9668 Please don't go that simplistic and dismissive route...there's always all sorts of stuff in the sea, but there's some tasty stuff out there right now if you look...Arcade Fire, War on Drugs, Alvvays, Amy Macdonald, Andrew Bird, Future Islands...even some of the greats: Neil Young, Roger Waters, Bruce Cockburn/Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Taj Mahal, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler are still creating...you just have to stay open-minded and make the effort to find it...

I do hope a record company has listened to this lovely voice and offered her a recording otherwise it's a loss to the public. She is amazing.
I stumbled on this CZcams capture, and it is - beyond compare - a true capture of raw talent! It is quite ironic how many people walk past without pause, yet the voice continues with passion. Eva Cassidy lives on!

Makes me crazy how people can just walk by and not stop even for a few seconds to pay homage to such a God given beautiful voice! I too am a singer and although my reason for singing has never been for the glory, it's such an amazing feeling when someone stops and lets you know you touched them...
I agree. Either they were tone deaf or just in a real hurry. But I would have surely stoped and listen to the whole song. Rachel gave an emotional performance. I loved it.

Wow. It reminds me of Joni Mitchell's "For Free" scenario. It seems a little chilly out there; people are walking all around, seemingly disinterested, yet her guitar work and vocals are outstanding. It's kind of like pearls before the swine.
