Bill Russell laughing cus they changed that rule in his era when Wilt started doing that
Actually I think they changed it before Wilt was in the NBA, and what Wilt did was different, according to the newspapers he actually jumped from the free throw line and dunked it.
@@siddharthpatil2683 Iâm pretty sure that thatâs physically impossible from a stand still.
@@aaron_5994 Yeah but according to the newspaper they said he took 2-3 steps from the top of the key and than ran and dunked it. Idk if it's true or not, I want to believe it is tho lol.
@@siddharthpatil2683 (Edited!, press âread moreâ). I like your spirit haha, but if you watch Jordanâs dunk from the free throw youâll see quite quickly that thereâs no way someone does that from standing or with only a few steps taken
EDIT; after further research it seems very plausible that Wilt did exactly that. Further research in a comment below âŹïž
@@aaron_5994 Probably true lol, but there are things to consider in this story. Wilt dunked from the freethrow line in college, and back then I think the college freethrow line was the same as the high school line, which was likely shorter. Also, Wilt had a much higher standing reach than Jordan did and obviously taller. MJ's is still more impressive because of how he was able to move in the air like that. But nobody can really confirm if Wilt ever even really did this other than a newspaper article floating on the internet.
