WLBT Channel 3, Jackson MS - Purple Haze Sign off circa 1990

Rather unusual sign-off from the NBC network station in Mississippi's capital city. The WLBT sign-off announcement comes during the first instrumental part of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze". Afterwards comes an SSB video saluting the state of Mississippi.

That week's SNL aired on March 17, 1990. Rob Lowe hosted, and The Pogues were the musical guest. The Player's Championship was going on that weekend, and was won by Jodie Mudd.
