Exactly what I thought, no one really thought Jacobs was gonna be this good just for the simple fact he wasn't the #1 back in Alabama... I think the exact same is gonna happen with Ruggs, he wasn't even the #2 receiver at times.
Coming from a Philadelphia Eagles fan. The raiders are my sleeper playoff team, I really feel like you guys are going to get into the playoffs. The offense is very underrated...good luck to you guys

@@marvera2482 I agree with the Jacobs comparison. Some guys are just electric with the ball. Jacobs was that way as a freshman and so is Ruggs. When you see it go to him, it makes you get on your feet because you know, something happens every time they touch the ball. The difference in the Jacobs and Ruggs comparison is Jacobs not being the #1 back meant he was on the sideline. Ruggs, not being a #1 or even #2 option often meant he was still on the field, giving plenty of tape, earning him a reputation of doing great things even when the ball wasn't coming his way. I'm not knocking Jacobs at all, because Jacobs is the exact same way, it doesn't matter if the ball is going elsewhere, he's doing his job to the fullest. It's just that he didn't get anywhere near the amount of snaps that Ruggs got to demonstrate that.
You really can't read much into which receiver position Alabama played with Ruggs, Juedy, and Smith though (who, I promise will be one of the top drafted receivers this year). They all played interchangeably. Sure, in base he was the 2, but he played a lot of 1 and 3. The 3 of them literally got caught on national tv playing rock, paper, scissors for the shot at the end zone. I'm pretty sure Ruggs would play tight end if you asked him to. That's what most people don't get about the guy. He's smart, hungry, fast, has a huge vertical, and doesn't drop passes. If he can stay healthy (what rookie can you not say that about) but if he can, the Raiders will shake some of the 1st pick criticism they've deservedly received over the years.

Coming from a die hard Bama fan, who actually watched every single practice/games without being bias. But Ruggs is going too be a beast his rookie year just as well as Juedy and CeeDee.

I loved this kid for a long time now and I couldn't have been happier when I heard his name at number 12. I hope he goes down as one of the greatest Raiders in history and they talk about the best receiving corps with him, Edwards, Renfrow and Williams along with the best RB since Allen in Jacobs. This team is going to be special and the Chiefs are gonna have trouble.
Man for the first time we got a core that can surpass Gannon-Garner-Brown-Rice-Porter-Jolley offense. Carr-Jacobs-Ruggs-Williams-Edwards-Waller. Not to mention an offensive line that can match Sims-Middleton-Robbins-Collins-Kennedy line.
This team is pretty underrated right now. I'm hoping they can surprise a lot of people this year. Have some good young weapons. I'm excited to see that Defense too with all of the editions. Maxx and Cle should have a great year with Collins causing pressure up the middle. Should help the coverage guys a lot.

I firmly believe that we drafted Ruggs over the other 2 WR (Juedy, Lamb) because Gruyock knew that we could draft B.Edwards in the later round. Which I believe is going to be just as good as those two. And by grabbing Ruggs we were getting the special talent that couldn't be replaced by anyone else in the draft.

@@redpandajet478 raiders gave me opportunities to show what he brings to the NFL. Very few opportunities, but the little chances he got he wasted them. The pros is a different animal than college. For example, look at the likes of Ryan leaf, jamarcus Russell, Johnny manziel, all were great in college but that didn’t translate into the NFL. Ruggs might be one of those players
