iMac's out of the box will automatically pair with the bluetooth keyboard. However, if you break your keyboard, and go buy a new one, it will no pair automatically.

Thank you! I looked at 3 or 4 other video's before seeing yours. Yours is the only one that told me to disconnect any other keyboard. Then it worked for me! (The first 60 seconds of your video were a waist of time...I don't care about your cat or spilled water, but after that...it was awesome!)
But what u gonna do if u dont have guest account? try to login without keyboard? nothing is working

Wow, thanks a lot man. So simple and its done. One step it showed me that it didn't show you was that I had to type a 6 digit number code my imac displayed. Once I entered that, it conneted, it wasn't finding it since I bought the new one on offer up, so it was someone else's but once I entered the code it conneted easily, you saved my life now I can continue to work.

What if you don’t have a guest account? As a child on my fathers CZcams account, I would like to say that I share a Mac with my mother and there is no guest account anymore. Is there a way to continue this on another Mac?

its worked , just remember to hold the on button or the connect button long enough for it to start flashing on and off and then pair it .
What if the Apple magic keyboard isn’t being discovered by my Mac? I feel like if connecting an Apple product to another Apple product, such as a computer keyboard to a computer, was this easy, then I wouldn’t need a CZcams video to show me how to do it. Thank you for your time and effort.

thanks for the tip. I found your channel while searching for the Quirky Spacebar ... I just got one but there are lights that stay on above the plug ports in the front. It doesn't appear that your Spacebar lights up, did you turn them off somehow? Mine didn't come with any instructions :(
HELLO FUTURE VIEWERS!! This is MAY 2020 ... if you don’t have a guest account... restart your computer ... turn on new key board.. make sure other keyboard battery are out and off... when you restart your computer allow it to sit for about 4 minutes.. it will begin to look for new key board... it will find new one :) and after that type in the numbers they tell you to put in.. 💪🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Can I buy an older keyboard for my 1983 iMac? My current keyboard seems to have lost its bluetooth connection to the computer. Have replaced with new batteries. Still no luck.
I have an old 27 inch Imac Mid 2011 model will new magic keyboard work with it. Apple website shows its not compatible with models prior to 2013. I have Mac OS High Sierra installed.

Why does it have to be a Guest account?
Because there’s a chance the guest account doesn’t ask for a password (which you can’t type since the keyboard is not yet connected - catch 22!)

+Gerhard Pretorius restart you iMac .. remove the batteries from the old keybord .. buy a new keybord turn it on ,, when your iMac is restarted ,, it will search for a new keyboard to connect with , make sure your new keyboard is on .. then automatically it will connect with it ,,, good luck (Y)

Suha Z I thought the whole point of the video was that it only sometimes finds the new keyboard. Guess I’ll have to be lucky, then. 😖
