I purchased this integrated amplifier about 3 months ago and it is gorgeous - looks and soundwise! Wow! In fact I love it so much that I built my new room around this unit. I'm purchasing the McIntosh MEN220 Room Correction next and can only imagine how much better everything will sound.
Mine is coming for Xmas!!
I added the men229 also. It brought the definition and sound stage to incredible levels. Awesome
This gorgeous unit is all you need. 350 watts is a lot and you’ll never use that much in a room, maybe 15 MAX peaks. Anyone who says separates are better is brainwashed audiophile.
Also makes a great boat anchor for your yacht! 😂

We use this beast in pass thru mode to power our Carver Amazing ribbons speakers. It makes them sing. Love this 350 watt hybrid tube piece.
It’s very underrated in terms of power? You mentioned it’s 350, but in reality it’s 525?
I’m looking at the Gryphon 300 or the MA1200. The Diablo 300 doesn’t have a dac though. It’s a $6000 option. I really think the McIntosh is the best “value” in high end integrated amplifiers.

Most definitely! I have had it powering 801 D4 and it was more than plenty, you will love it!

No fine cloth cover, only simple plastic wrapping the actual unit- at this price point?
Not sure why they dont make a hometheater processor with hybrid tube preamp stage for the front left, center and right and solid state for the bed layer and atmos. In fact we could do the crossover direclty with XLRs the tweeters high range for the left, right and center and then XLRs for the bass and bedlayer, surrounfs and height.
Obviously priced at $35k.
What would you prefer the ma12000 or the ma9500?

YES, the resale value on the special editions are higher than the standard editions.
No, it’s not worth it. Who cares about 75th? People care about function. Wow, $1,000 for some letters and a little badge. Lol. These letters do nothing.

@@omgwtfpwnd I have been selling McIntosh gear for over 30 years and the fans do care about the anniversary editions, same as Porsche and Ferrari fans, just a bit special and they dig it.
@@DeVanceElectronicLifestyle The only highly collectible cars are the much older ones. The newer ones go to repeat clients who have the most influence. And there’s nothing different between two cars or amps that are the same except a badge and engraving. LOL.
Do you know if there is a new replacement in the works for the discontinued MP1100 Vacuum Tube Phono Preamplifier?
I haven't heard anything as of now but I am sure its coming.
How would you connect a subwoofer?
This unit has multiple outputs so you would take one of the extras full range outputs and hook your subwoofer to that.
McIntosh 9500 and ma12000 had a disaster. The transformer had humming noise. The original factory did not deal with the problem.

I would but I’ve heard too many things about this brands poor service and even reliability these days. If I’m outlaying what would be $30,000 here I don’t want to be buying problems.
What are you talking about? We have owned McIntosh gear for over 20 years including this piece and newer (MC3500 MkII) They are performance machines and we have had ZERO issues. I once thought I had an issue with our MT10 turntable so I called McIntosh directly. They immediately connected me with a tech in their factory! Turns out it just needed a drop of the supplied oil on the spindle that I had forgotten about. Great American company with fantastic customer service.

@@jb.2986 Zero issues is not correct. It’s not correct for any brand of any product. For example someone bought the MA1200 and it died within weeks. It was replaced but the new one has had about 3 seperate issues within about 6 months. Same person bought the turntable that has a persistent hum. I’m not saying the gear is rubbish I’m simply saying if I spend $30,000 on the likes of a MA1200, which is its cost here, I don’t want to be buying problems. I seem to have bad luck with purchases so I’m very conscious of the reliability factor.
Regarding service some people have claimed good service but others have claimed the opposite.
I'm sorry you are having issues. Again, we have had ZERO issues with any of our Mac gear with over $100k invested in our system. YMMV.@@aussie8114
