These things are relative, when you're surrounded with billionaires then being middle class feels like being poor. And Brooklyn wasn't as expensive back then
He didn't own a loft, his parents did and he lived in a brooklyn which is middle class/working class area of NY unlike Park avenue/Mahattan where his rich classmates live. Not to mention he was poor compared to his classmates and was def an outsider with that crowd

I would absolutely LOVE a deep dive into the core four characters of the OC. I was born in 2003 (the year the OC started) so I'm too young to really remember it's popularity. But my little sister and I love 00s fashion so I was introduced to it through her.

Ryan is my favourite character, but Marissa is a close second. I like how serious Ryan is and I like how life happens to Marissa. I feel like that a lot. I feel like no matter how hard I try and how hard I resist falling into the rabbit hole, all the time things just don't work out. IDK what's going on with the universe b/c I've tried pretty hard. My most favourite look and one i remember from the show is Marissa matching a polo shit with a flowing skirt. What I remember it is b/c it totally doesn't go, like she woke up late and just threw on whatever was in the laundry basket YET SHE LOOKS AMAZING. That's what I liked about her.
This is a neat idea for a channel. Hope you do Sex in the City soon. I watched that during Covid and half the fun was seeing the fashion of the late 90s and 2000s.
Interesting notes & I always liked the outfit of the shiny blouse over the jeans that actresses wore. Summer's my fave so it'd be lovely to get an in-depth look at her throughout the entire series. For another series to analyze, it'd be amazing if you did Jane the Virgin.

Also really glad I watched it now that you’ve just added the Marissa video as I don’t have to wait for it and will go watch it right now! Would love for you to possibly look at One Tree Hill and do a similar style analysis of the core 5 characters, both OC and OTH came out the same year (in fact Chad Michael Murray was originally offered the role of Ryan in the OC) and I think it would be interesting to look at fashion featured there. Brooke was definitely the IT girl and the most stylish but all character’s personalities were really well depicted through their clothing and especially seasons 1-4 would be such a great look at 2000s fashion but among more regular teens than the rich of OC. Looking at seasons 5-9 would be great too but with both the characters being adults by that point and also the show taking place in late 2000s to early 2010s, the style is quite distinctly different to previous years. Possibly could do them as two separate videos? Just a suggestion of course. Again, great video, subscribing and looking forward to seeing more content from you!
