  • Heey everyone! Today’s video is another DIY video. I’ve chosen to do a voice over today, because I thought that it would be easier to follow what I am doing. This one is also for a request and I had so much fun making them. I will be using these envelopes in my snail mail and junk journals. I will link the videos down below I mention in the video. I hope you enjoy the tutorial.
    Love, Kyra

I’ve just found your channel and I’m addicted 😘😘😘
I totally love the way you really make EVERYTHING yourself - craft tools replaced by refreshing and genuine passion, drive and real true talent.
I love watching you work in pure rawness and not pimped up with expensive items - it really does make things more meaningful.
You’re very “real” and you are the only channel I’ve found as yet, that works this way.
I love it - it gives people with little or limited funds hope - hope that they can create beautiful items just as good, if not better than those who use every tool available.
I don’t have a channel, I’m a viewer and I wish I’d found you earlier as when I returned to crafting recently due to ill health and being off work, I spent a small fortune believing I must have all the items to be able to make something beautiful - you have shown that really is not the case.
You should be so proud of yourself - I really hope you are.
You make beautiful things and teach in such a beautiful way
Good luck with your CZcams future xxxxxxxx 😘😘😘😘😘

Oh thank you so much!!! You make me blush!!
I do have some of the tools right now, but you can always request something and I will try to make a video about that. When I started out, I didn't want to buy the tools. I wanted to get the paints and pretty papers. So I totally understand you. And yes you can make beautiful things with limited funds. I only buy tools when I notice I make something a lot and it would make it easier. It is not a necessary thing :).
Crafting also helped me through rough times with my mental health. It keeps me sain, so I totally understand.
Don't get discouraged when you see all the pretty tools, you can def do it without. Please tell me your requests and I will try to make a video for you. This is the reason I started my channel :)
Thank you so much for your kind words! They really mean a lot to me!
I wish you a lot of fun on your craft journey

I have to say I bought a punch board now. But that is because i am working on a big secret project and i need the less time part🙈

Thank you! You are so humble and sweet! And it just goes to show that one doesn't need all the "fancy wancy" tools and up to date gadgets to create. Before I had a bone folder I use a butter knife. Lol. Thank you for the video. It was nice to hear your voice. The lighting was good for me. I'm not picky! Loved all your papers. Thanks again for the tutorial of the cute envelopes!!!

I’m so grateful your channel showed up in my recommendations because I love it when I come across a channel that is as down to earth as yours. Thanks for sharing your videos. Most of all thank you for making them in English. :) I’m going now to check to see if you uploaded one showing off your crafting space (this video is over a year old now). Hopefully I’ll find that you did upload one. If not I hope this shows enough interest from your subscribers to encourage you to make one. 😊

On your ruler, inches are on the opposite side of your ruler, 1 inch, 2 inch... 1 1/2 (One and a half inch), 2 1/2 (Two and a half). Inch symbol is “ 1”, 2”, 3”, And so on. 1x1 inch each side, 2x2 inches...and so on. Or 3 1/4” (Three and 1/4th of an inch), and so on. 3/4ths, 6x6 inches each side is 6 inches...on your ruler, opposite of your metric side, look at the numbers, 1,2,3,4, 5, 6,..... then look what it says on the metric side..And of course you can Google up how inches are compared to the metric side of your ruler. And of course, I or anyone else can figure it out or look up the Metric system on Google! 😁😊

    2½ cm per inch... 10cm x 10cm is therefore a 4" square. 😁

@@KyraPace doesn't matter! We're all good at different things. I did it for you or for anyone else who may not know as it's an easy thing to remember...every inch is 2.5cms... that's about as far as my maths skills takes me! 😂😂😂 What you are good at is making the best of what you have and using your brain to figure out ways you can make things despite not having fancy tools! Problem solving is what maths really is about, and you're not too lazy to find alternative options. Many people won't even attempt things without having every piece of equipment. I do have a lot of crafting tools, but if a bone folder is not close by when I need one I'll use scissor handles or the TV remote or whatever else is nearby. You come to realise a lot of the tools are not as invaluable as you think they are before you buy them. I've sold-on many craft items that I bought, that turned out to be not really so great. My preferred tools worth investing in imo are, a good craft knife, strong metal ruler, a cutting mat, a paper trimmer and a score board with bone folder. They are all you really need if ever you want to invest, but only invest at all if it's something you'll use a lot! If you only craft now and then, your way is perfectly fine! The main craft item I buy is good quality paper and cardstock and good glue. Scrapbooking paper is relatively cheap and lasts ages, and can be picked up in cheap stores such as Poundland or The Works (in the UK). The Works also sells an excellent pink snap-off blade craft knife for 99p and it's the best knife I've ever used for paper crafting! It's razor sharp and never snags the paper or goes blunt quickly. My absolute favourite glue is the clear Collall glue, it's more expensive but you can use it for everything and you never need double sided tape ever again! A tiny dab holds heavy gems or embellishments in place and it never leaves wet wrinkles in paper unlike PVA tends to. I could rave about Collall glue all day long! I'm so glad I found it and it's all I buy now. I get printer paper from Wilko's, presentation paper 120-160gsm weight, which is £4 for 250 sheets. You can print off pictures to cut out and they look like you've bought proper craft images or sheets. After years of crafting and lots of £££'s spent on products, I now get this paper and glue and it's really all I have to spend now. Embellishment packs last forever and can be picked up for £1 pretty much anywhere. Another good way to stock up cheaply on embellishments is to buy direct from China on eBay. Yes you wait longer for items to arrive but I've got TONS of ridiculous bargains buying them that way! For example a full string of faceted glass 10mm beads for 17p and that included p&p! (Approx 25c in American money) 100x metres of chiffon ribbon for 99p including p&p, which would be about 99p for a metre or two here! Hope these ideas help guide you or others like you who want to buy crafting tools but are not sure how necessary they are or if they're worth investing in. As you've proved, all you really need is a pencil, a ruler and scissors and your imagination. 😊😊😊

You are totally right!! I have bought some tools since this video, but I always keep in mind if it is something I will use often and do I really need it. I bought 2 sizes of circles punches, simply because cutting circles is a pain lol. And I love to use circles in my projects. The paper trimmer was a life saver!! I can cut straight and in the right size so fast now. I use it with all my projects. It is so true what you say. You don't need all the things to craft and have fun. I often find a creative way to make something without spending money. Here in the Netherlands we have Action :D Really fun and great craft supplies for not that many euro's :D I also looooove to get my washi's from Aliexpress. Yes it takes a while to get here, but it is so worth it! I do invest in good quality paints and glue. I am an art journaler by heart, but I also use these supplies for my art school. So this is a win-win situation for me. I love to use cheap knock off stanley knifes for cutting. Also bought at Action :D And I have a cutting mat also from there. They work great! It doesn't always mean that when something is expensive that it is automatically better. I also love the collal glue. I use it for my school projects :) Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I had fun reading your amazing comment!!

@@KyraPace aww you are welcome! I keep hearing about alliexpress but haven't checked it out yet! I also recently bought a 1" and a 2" circle punches! I use mine for cutting half circle notches too in pockets for tags in books etc. Another thing I use a lot of is rubbish! Packaging that would be thrown out or fabrics that can be cut up and used other ways. I make things for the home so much more cheaply or even free rather than buying them. I have crafted since i was a child sticking toilet roll tubes and egg boxes together in preschool! I mainly love paper and fabric but I'll give anything a go! From furniture upcycling to party decor to jewellery or books or clothes or bags or home things such as curtains, cushions, bedding etc. I always have a few projects on the go! 😊😊😊
