This was a HUGE hit in 1978. I have never read anything to indicate she had anything other than a business/friendship relationship with Kenny Loggins... nothing was "going on." I remember in an interview, Stevie mentioned that Kenny was such a perfectionist and he was quite short and terse with her to perfect the song. At a televised awards program (not sure which), Stevie was sitting next to Kenny when he won. She was beaming and was the first to stand up when he rose to accept the award. Stevie was very busy in 1978/1979 providing back-ups and duets with Kenny Loggins, John Stewart's Gold, and Miranda, Bob Welch's Devil Wind, and Walter Egan's Magnet and Steel. You were loving it and then they hit you with that horn :-) Another wonderful song of the times, when love, and closeness were brought through the music. Love your videos!!

    An all time beautiful song.
I met Kenny logins in the early 80’s. He really defined my introduction from UK music to living in the USA. ‘Celebrate Me Home’ was another beautiful song. His live shows were outstanding.

Don't forget Sweet Reunion! The Live from the Grand Canyon perfurmance of Sweet Reunion is as close to a magic carpet ride through the stars and into Heaven as you can get! The studio version is great too.

I am SOOO weary of the world right now. Your discovery of these wonderful songs that are the music of my youth brings me joy. Joy in hearing them again and the joy of seeing the smile on your face. Thanks for sharing your time. This woman in her sixties would find joy sitting on the porch with you, with the music cranked all the way up. I’ll bring the sweet tea!

Also to answer your question, Kenny has said he was never really interested in Stevie like that, he just loved her as a voice and a friend. Not sure about Stevie though. 😜
