They got to be good friends over the course of the tour and Stevie told him to call her if he ever needed a chick singer resulting in this duet. According to Loggins, they became very close friends, but were never lovers.

Stevie was very busy in 1978/1979 providing back-ups and duets with Kenny Loggins, John Stewart's Gold, and Miranda, Bob Welch's Devil Wind, and Walter Egan's Magnet and Steel. All are worth a listen.
