Legends of Batman - Action Figures - 1994

I think the samurai Batman looks pretty cool. I didn't read many Batman comics when I was a kid, so I am assuming that 'Legends' is a type of 'What if' kind of style. Where it was like 'What would a Batman in the middle ages would look like?'. Am I right?
