If an EVM connects to the internet it can be hacked. If you send the totals using the internet or WiFi - you can misuse the EVM.
I would check and see if there are modems in some of their tabulators and scanners.

Why can’t we go back to old system of ballot? Why election commission was hesitant to give the total votes polled immediately after polling? Why there is difference between the number of polled votes and vote counted in some cases?
It is very difficult to handle, count & transport ballot papers in ballot voting. Ballot paper voting is not dependable. Ellon was telling about US EVMs, which are like computers and they can be hacked. But our Indian EVMs are dump machines which cannot be connected to wire/wifi/bt/internet and also not reprogrammable.

One of the main argument of the supporters/BJP of EVMs is that the system was introduced by the Congress Party and why they did not abolish it, when they were in power, indirectly admitting the poll-rigging. EVM, a manmade machine, always susceptible to human intervention, is like a sword whether it is in the hands of a patriotic soldier, when it will be used righteously, or whether in the hands of an intoxicated, ferocious mad monkey, who always misuse it. That was what happened in the past ten years. The finding should be that any manmade tool is not wholly fool proof and can be tampered with by the maker himself or by strange alternate human power. Unfortunately, it is evident that EVMs are misused, manipulated by external forces lavishly and widespreadly in the past ten years. This is proved by the 'confirmed' seat winning claims by the highest level politicians in the 2014 and 2019 general elections, but the impact was reduced slightly in the impugned 2024 elections, on a count of the constant vigil put up by the Opposition parties and other patriotic citizens. Under no circumstances, the present CEO, ECI, can was off their hands clean, and claim to be upright. The impugned result of the just concluded general election reveals the deal the government struck with the ECI, just prior to the declaration schedule of the election. It is a gift offered to BJP in a golden plate!
