  • Craig Fraser reviews new Wicked Opaque White. Craig gives his first impressions thoughts as he sprays Createx's new acrylic-urethane resin paint.
    Craig at first sprays Wicked Opaque White out-of-the-bottle, then continues to thin with 4011 Reducer as psi is lowered and a smaller tip-sized Iwata Micron is used to test the Opaque White's fine-line performance.

    I have over reduced the previous opaque white and spray at about 12psi with my Badger Krome . can't wait to see what the new paints do with the uvls. I definitely need to play some more

    Very helpful video as along with Createx products I use an Eclipse to custom paint Hot Wheels. I have learned so much from these videos. I am actually beginning to understand the products. Thank you!

      @@CreatexColors Awesome. The combo of styles between Chris and Craig is great. Just purchased a set of 32oz autoborne sealers for some projects. Pondering some flake purchases after the recent vids as well.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH Craig! This is a very helpful video. Actually, I ordered opaque white from Amazon, and I ran into a problem that "dried quickly" like the first line in the video. So, I am desperate for a reducer, but Amazon does not ship this product to Korea where I am now. Is there any way to buy it in Korea?

    Thank you for this great piece of information! Now my question is : Knowing all this, would you still go to your standard 10% reducer mix for fine detailing and shading with values? Or would you rather pump up the reducer a little more with less airpressure? Let me know how you would proceed in the future on your artworks, knowing now you can reduce this paint with 50-60% (+ maybe add just a little 4050 or 4030) and still it works quite okay. Or would you prefer a little in between like 20-30%?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  Před 3 lety +1

      How much to actually reduce is, ultimately, a subjective preference given airbrush type, technique, and more. Experiment with no reduction, then add small amounts of 4011 Reducer, perhaps 5% per vol. at a time, until you find what best works for you. No need to add 4030 or 4050 to Wicked Opaque Colors. Thank you.

    Great videos, especially for beginners like me! @14.32 you mentioned “like a white candy”.
    Is there a white candy? If not how can I reduce to make the opaque white like a candy! Thanks

      @CreatexColors  Před 7 dny

      There is not a white dye color made by Createx. Over-reducing W030 Wicked Opaque White with new 4021 Reducer would work best for a very translucent white color. Thank you.

    "It's not that bad" .... I think your excellent control is influencing that!
    How does this new acrylic urethane differ from the black and white sealers (existing.... not sure if you have new ones) for surface adhesion and also appearance? for non automotive use is the sealer now obsolete?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  Před 3 lety +1

      AutoBorne Sealer has slightly better adhesion compared to Wicked Opaque White (we tested it, and the Sealer is better for a direct to substrate primer, as it should be. Opaque White atomizes better when sprayed at lower psi settings, make a less stippled when faded saturation to tint, and is better for cutting & working into small-area graphics, as a paint should be compared to a sealer-primer. Thank you.

    How can you tell you're buying the new stuff and not old stock?

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors  Před 3 lety

      Wicked Opaque Colors are all new and identified on the label’s side imprint area, which also has the date of manufacture. Wicked Opaque Colors began in March 2021. Wicked Jet Black is now called Wicked Opaque Jet Black. Only Opaque White kept its name. Thank you.

      @@CreatexColors ok, it's the white that confused me. I've an old bottle of 0030 wicked opaque white but just bought some new Detail Flat Opaque White, but I don't think its the new WOW.
