- You guys asked for this video a long time ago and I've finally got round to filming and editing it! This is our full trip report of our California adventure...we discuss all the places we visited, our likes and dislikes about them, things we're glad we did and things we wish we had done. We also give some hints, tips and advice we feel may be useful to anyone planning a trip to California! Of course we also included our haul of everything we bought whilst we were there!
USEFUL INFO/LINKS:
We booked our trip with the help of Travel Planners, and online travel agent specialising in multi-destination trips and the West Coast of the USA. They helped create our itinerary, find hotels within our budget and booked our hire car for us through Dollar.

San Francisco - Axiom Hotel
Monterey - Garden Inn by Hilton, Monterey
San Luis Obispo - Avenue Inn
Los Angeles - Moment Hotel, West Hollywood
Anaheim - Hotel Pepper Tree (the only hotel we booked ourselves via www.booking.com)
TICKETS:
We booked our Universal Studios and Disney tickets through Attraction Tickets - these were cheaper than the gate prices and we didn't have to wait in the long queues to buy tickets on the day either! Win-win! We have used this company for years for theme park tickets for Florida and UK attractions and I can't recommend them enough!

We booked the Warner Bros Studio Tour online directly through their website the day before we did the tour and had plenty of choice for tour times etc.

Our Gone Whale Watching Tour was booked directly via their website approx 1 month prior to the trip. Their small boat size makes the trip feel very personal and allows you to get great views of the wildlife but this does mean that they have limited availability, so I recommend booking as far in advance as you possibly can to ensure your space!

Hopefully you can visit SF again and fulfil your visit to Alcatraz. I absolutely love SF and have been twice. The first time we did an Alcatraz trip and also hired bikes to cycle across the Golden Gate down to a town called Sausalito which was a great day. Alcatraz is one of my all time favourite attractions.
The second time we went on the hop off buses and went over the bridge on that. Each crossing has a different viewpoint which was good to see.
Tip: we have done a few USA road trips and is most cities, we always book the hop on-off buses, that way you can get around the sights as most of these buses visit the main tourist attractions, I find that so much easier than trying to navigate local transport.
Definitely, I think we have the perfect excuse to go back one day so we can do the things we didn’t get chance to! ☺️ we did a hop on-hop off tour that went over the bridge too! We really enjoyed it and I agree, it’s a convenient way to make sure you see all the hot spots! Thank you for watching, I’m sure you loved that bike ride over to Sausalito! ☺️💛
Loved San Francisco when David & I were there & pity you didn’t get to Alcatraz We did visit the prison & full of history

I think we just have an excuse to go back to visit Alcatraz tbh! 🤣 LA wasn’t really for us but I can see why it would appeal to others! We just prefer more natural and less commercialised places (with the exception of Disney 🤣🤣🤣). Thank you for all your lovely feedback! 🥰
