Journey is one of, if not my all time favourite game but I never played this. Glad its come to Switch, Ill finally pick it up.

Also, as far as underwater exploration games, I don’t have much I’ve personally played. Maybe Ecco the Dolphin years and years ago on Sega Genesis.

Great review. might have to check this out. after spending half an hour failing to beat that dastardly blowfish donkey kong tropical freeze boss earlier today i wasn't super keen to go under water again but this review may have changed my mind!
This is super chilled m8. Just an experience more than anything else and one that leaves you super chilled. Depends if you like that sprt of thing pr not. I personally do but for some it will be to short and won't have enough engaging gameplay.

Hey SW, is this game all in one interconnected world with no loading screens, or are there load times or just different self-contained areas? I hope it's all seamlessly interconnected. This might be a deal breaker for me if there's different worlds. Thanks if I get an answer.
Hi buddy, there are loading screens from time to time. Its not often but as you enter each new area the game loads but for the most part it's not a big problem.

the only underwater exploration game that comes to mind is Subnautica and that game scared the shit out of me, that I don't dare to boot it up anymore, hopefully, Abzu can deliver the amazing wonders of the sea without terrifying its players. Abzu is much more nuanced and less dramatic than Journey, also the soundtrack is a league above. Really Abzu is in the top 5 indie games of this generation.

It's a short game yes? Or maybe I am confusing it with something else.. Just that it's 24 AUD on *special* (regular 30 bucks)... From memory it's a 2 hour game max.. so, that's very expensive, no? I am tempted due to the "experience", as I have no other underwater games so to speak.. But I wish it was 19.99 full price AUD and 9.99 on special.. Just IMHO. Ok, maybe 12.99 on special.

Totally agree! I was expecting nothing, now this is up there as one of my fave game experiances.
Bought the game yesterday on switch, finished it in one sitting but WOW! What a stunning experience. After i finished the game there was a lot to take in! Even though there is no dialog, this game has an AMAZING story and a very strong message! I recommend it to everyone! I even recommended it to my mom, this game is not about the challenge or action its all about relaxing, the story and just enjoying the sea!

If we would have had advance notice with the game we would. But it's a massive game and it would take too long to review before other big games are due. Sadly we have to prioritise games we are given by publishers.

This game is appalling on the Nintendo Switch. The frame rate is not steady. There’s no blur from frame to frame, which seriously would’ve helped. And then there is the worst part…
There is something seriously wrong with the implementation of the audio, especially in regards to the Music. It’s incredibly harsh and loud, peaking at times, causing audible distortion.
This is a fail of a port and a disservice to the original game
