The Ghost of Sparta, the Fallen God, Farbauti, or the one who yells “BOY!” every two minutes: you know him under many names, but do you know the full story of Kratos? I’m (NAME) and in this video, we will go over the story of all the God of War games, from Kratos’ early days in Sparta to his adventures in Midgard. This timeline will go over the main events of Kratos’ story in the order they happened for the Ghost of Sparta, which isn’t always the chronological order of the games’ release dates.

Your mom
I love how everything on him represents his family.
Tattoo- His brother
Scar- Caused by his half brother
Stomach wound- Zues
Skin- Wife and Daughter
Blades- His oath to his half brother and then sister
Axe- His second wife Faye
His Powers in the first three- All given to him by family members he didn't k own yet
Spear- Created to save his son, and blessed by dwarves he would regard as family. Also a remembrance of Sparta.
Tunic- Rembrance of his Spartan Home
Did I miss anything?
nope
Since he's Zeus's son, Ares is Kratos's brother.
@@JabamiLain dude forget about ares
@Jabami Lain oh? I thought they were all his siblings in this reality.
@@silverpslm yep
God of War Ragnarok in a single phrase:
Kratos just wants to sleep
The plot twist of the person dying in Atreus' arms on the mural being Odin was a great plot twist
I didn’t even notice that I thought they just defied fate entirely
@@XbMarsthey did defy it. When Atreus broke the mask, is probably when.
@@VishnuPrasad-qu6qcThey already defied fate long ago when Kratos killed Magni, since he and Modi were fated to live after Ragnarok.
@@suckerman7gmmaybe not in this game? Because there was no proof of that existing in the game as far as i know
@@VishnuPrasad-qu6qc I assumed it was when he spared Thor
And to think, all of this could’ve been avoided if the gods could just learn to pull out
Yeah if the gods just acted somewhat decent to Kratos then they wouldn't have gotten what was coming to them lol.
@@pr0_gam3r37I don’t think that’s the kind of “pull out” they mean…
😂
Yeah, should’ve stopped kratos at his baby-baby stage. Still not sure if he wouldn’t transform to some hydra than though
Love the 2 modern games, the Norse mythology was a nice change up from the Greek pantheon, but I still love the Greek games more than the Norse games
I view them pretty equally. They each got things that I love about them both. However I also have very little to criticize about them.
Who else loves God Of War?
I know I do!
me
I love god of war and how much kratos changed from god of war 3 and god of war 2018. I cried at the end of god of war Ragnarok.
lol go woke and put the only woke diversity character in the thumbnail out of all the characters you could have used
Not me
One minor correction, Atreus never reveals to Kratos that he went to Jotunheim in Ragnarok. When Kratos says "More secrets" after turning Garm into Fenrir, Atreus says "No a promise, one that someone's trusting me to keep, like your promise to mom"
13:32 bro think he Oppenheimer 😂😂😂
Actually it's not Oppenheimer, it's Krisna, Oppenheimer was quoting a verse from Gita in which Krisna tells the warrior Arjuna that at the end of the day he ( Krisna) is the one who controlls death so Arjuna should not step back from his duty as a warrior to fight for his cause ( He was reluctant because he was against his own family and guru in the war).
I've been playing God of War since the PS2 era in 2005 and I just love Kratos. He has undergone an extreme development from then to now, both as a man and as a god. I hope there will be many more games with Kratos as the main character.
What i really like about the series is Kratos reactants on him being a god. He doesn't want it but he needed it. But still seek the nature of being it. I remember one of the line they said about kratos.
DO ANYONE, EVEN ONE PRAY ON YOUR NAME??. And a disheartened face show by kratos. And the last part made me cry, when he open the last meural, like bro you can cry now you been in alot of hardship go get the dove.
But Kratos got Prayers Form the Spartan army on God of War 2 where the spartan Soldier said "My Lord Kratos another City I ready to fall" so technically he got prayers
34:10 you skipped the part where the giants foretold atreus killing his own father, a vital point in the storyline.
He missed quite a bit of important info tbf lmao
That isn't it. Kratos was supposed to die, but no where has it been said that Atreus did it
@@goat9295The Actual prophecy was not that of Kratos dying but Odin dying. The one depicted in the mural was Odin not Kratos
Why do you end your sentences so zestily bro
Lol
god of WAR. thats the game with kraTOS. i guess he must really like this GAME.😂
Dammit I can’t unhear it now
dudeeeee
🤣🤣🤣
12:48 why does everyone not know this his mark is not the tattoo or his family's ashes it's the scar on his eye when Aries hit him when he tried to save his brother from Athena & Ares taking him
The whole mark thingy is a bit iffy tbh, thing is, the prophecy only said that "the marked warrior will bring the end of Olympus" and Deimos DOES born with that unique birthMARK... but after Deimos was taken Kratos made a tattoo identical to Deimos' birthmark in honour of his brother and eventualyy become the so called "marked warrior" that destroyed Olympus
I never really got into the series but I just became interested this morning, so this video let me catch up on just how much of a badass Kratos really is.
I hope future God of War games feature Kratos going to Egypt and throwing hands with their gods. It makes sense, we’ve gone through the Greek gods, making our way through the Norse gods, it’d be awesome to see the Egyptian gods next!
Current consensus is either Celtic or Egyptian gods (potentially both)
One twist can be Kratos against Asuras in Indic mythology/history. Like ravana ( Obviously Kratos can't beat him, but a story about it would be wild)
I can’t be the only one who thinks the Spartan who gives you the Arms of Sparta in Ghost of Sparta is the guy you find on the ground after escaping Hades and end up fighting later in the Auditorium of God of War 2
Great content as always. Keep up the good work
I love this, but damn! You gotta do another updated version to include Valhalla! So much insight after ragnarok and reveals of Greece. Looking forward to it!! You guys are awesome!!!
42:53 the way he started crying 😢😢😢
Well worth the watch, thank you for sharing!!
YES i have been waiting for this for a while now W video
Ragnarok is by far my favorite game of the series! We are still without power after the storms yesterday morning but as soon as it comes back on I’ll definitely be picking up where I left off on my 2nd play through! Great content. Skål 🍻
thanks for this! good work
Kratos arc is one of the best ngl
The Best Story in any Game Series Ever 💛
"Cruel Striker" is such an appropriate name for Kratos
I never really thought much about playing god of war ever, but then a friend told me to try it, and i enjoyed it
Ill never forget the agonizing wait from GOW 2 to GOW 3.
We need an explanation of that oracle, because who’s just waiting to bind the ashes of your relatives on your skin 🤔
THE BEST GOW EXPLANATION IN CZcams !
The greatest written character in my opinion
I have never been so interested after knowing nothing about the game and watching corykenshins ragnorak this makes me want to play all these games.
i like how hope is a big topic that keeps coming back in the games with it first appearing in pandora's box and now with kratos becoming the god of hope in gow5
12:53 The marked warrior was Kratos. The mark was not the ashes however. When Deimos is kidnapped, Kratos tattoos his body to resemble his brother's birthmark (the red tattoo), that is when he becomes the marked warrior.
Kratos killing by Thor is so scary for me because that's when the player understand that Kratos is no more threat to the other gods in the meaning of a fight I know that if he really needed to he could kill Thor in one punch but fu** that's impressive
The plot is amazing!
If Kratos goes to another mythology I want Egyptian mythology
I am playing God of War right now but I didn’t know the story now I know the timeline thank you.
Imagine Kratos’s wife and daughter coming back and asking him what happened during all these years and he have to explain all of this. Man it will take two lifespans….
16:20
you forgot the part when Zeus asked Kratos to swear his allegiance to him (as all Olympians owed to their king) and to swear never to kill him. Kratos refused.
you skipped the part about how kratos had to kill kronos to retreive the omphalos stone
love this game man
“Says boy” *sheds a tear for Arthur Morgan*
Does kratos ever stop having the nightmares of killing his family in the Norse games?
No, he just lives with it, and accepted the truth.
I don’t think so;
At the end of GOW3, Kratos unlocks the power of Hope. By doing so, he forgives himself and (presumably) stops having his nightmares.
23:32 "After Kratos opened her box" ok💀
Started at 3 so thank you for the fill in 💚
Best video
And I thought Kingdom Hearts had a lot of side games. Always good to get a refresher course on this game series. Great job.
Good updated thumbnail
Left out the reuniting with the blades of chaos before going to helheim. Digging us his past.
Congratulations on 15k sub.. hope you gain more with new awesome video
The best thing about it is knowing that Kratos is actually more peaceful in the newer games compared to how he was during the first games. Although i miss his rageful character tbh.
My step dad was playing this. Got stuck on a part. Well has not seen the game in four months. He rage quit hard on this.
What he is a gamer what about your other dad then please.
@@fireembliam9090 The other was a dead beat. So I don't know or he was. Yes my step dad does play his ps5. But it was just funny that is all.
9:24 "athens is safe and sound" **Literally on fire**
He should’ve went to his past self to tell himself to not destroy the town that his family died in
You skipped the comics. They explain how Kratos got to Midgard
Not really
@@HitmanHimself Hello agent 47! How are you? How's diana? How's business?
@@erutanevoli doing good, Diana is also fine you know that
Actually that's a canonical story maybe they'll reveal how kratos came to midgaurd in upcoming games
@@jtgamingzz6258I hope they will
THE AMAGI 😮 *insert creepy smile* dope
Replaying god of war 2018 on my ps5 I still love this game
If Kratos can find peace and forge a new path forward that he never thought possible, then so can us. Never give up hope my friends. It’s the one thing we all have when all else is lost.
I somehow had this at 0.05 speed and it was like “kratooooos the gooost ooof spaaaaartaaaa theeee falleeennn goooooooooood”
8:53 that’s Zeus
It started at the beginning and ended at the end, there nuff said.
Small correction: it was the giants who sealed off Jötenheim to prevent Odin and Thor from massacuring the rest of the giants that still resided in Jötenheim and the ones who Escaped Midgaurd before they destroyed all other hidden paths to their realm.
Great vid, but what's with reading with that weird upward inflection? Lmao
I thought I was the only one who found that weird. 😂
it's still unclear how kratos got to midgard that's the one question i have that remains unanswered
41:42 kratos changed so much❤❤ 41:51 damn rip thorr
the cutscene of kratos getting bug squashed by the colossus's hand never fails to make me laugh
Quite interesting.
Saying you’re going to go in chronological order then immediately starting when Kratos is asking Ares for help instead of talking about his childhood before the first minute has even gone by is so goofy
I also like how Freya called him "The God of few words"
This has helped me understand this franchise, but i still don't know in which order i play have the games😅
release
God of war ascension then chains of Olympus then god of war 1 then ghost of Sparta then betrayal but you can’t play that one now then Gow 2 then Gow 3 then 2018 then ragnarok
I’m hoping they’ll move to another pantheon but seems like they’ll be sticking with Norse for a while
They're done with Norse era tho, so if there is a next game, it will either be Kratos moving ro yet another Pantheon or it would be about Atreus and his journey to find the surviving giants
@@ariqsyafwan4987not really tho I think one more game it took three games to be in Greek now Norse 3
8:40 HE COMES BACK
13:31 Kratos=Oppenheimer confirmed
19:00 DAMNN THATS HOWW BRO
I love Your videos all of them. the leaderboard, the amagi etc. but in some of your videos you miss key details like when atreus saw himself killing modi in helhiem and changed his attitidute?, and when they got the black rune from tyr's temple and jumped off the realm between realms. i love your videos but there are some very important details u miss.
i'd give you more examples of details that are just funny or important or key detoails but where would it end
Please do a new updated video with the Valhalla dlc!!
This might have been a great video... But I couldn't get by a minute of you saying every word ending with a rising inflection. whY!
I remember in high-school we did a study of Greek mythos, an of course there was that one kid who ththought the God of war was mythologically accurate and made his essay about and getting an F. Then the teacher described that Kratos was in mythos but as a very minor god and a Don of aries
God of war needs a movie
I love God of War and I’m a die hard Xbox fan
ngl i can't wait for cal kestis to get one of these
Kratos is the definition of standing on bidness
Love them been playing since day one. Devil May cry as well legendary games hack and slash baby.
The initial part, Keaton’s requests Aries to save him from the barbarians. That’s how he gets the blades of chaos.
I didnt request NOTHIN from Ares
You forgot to type your name in the description template, BOY!
New thing to add now: Týr invites Kratos to join him to Valhalla to assist him in overcoming his past history with Greece. Kratos sees some of the past ghosts there, including Helios, and opens up to both Týr and Mimir about his history. Towards the end, Kratos faces his past self and finally overcomes his guilt and regret over being the selfish, vengeful man/god he was, bringing him one step closer to his new life of being a peaceful god.
Still miss Sydney. Hire her back.
I alr know the whole story I just love listening to people explain it again 😅😂
13:31 Goofy ahh Oppenheimer reference 💀
I wish god of war was a movie🎉🎉
They should have a kid together. Carry out his legacy as a god but this time, in piece.
W video
So nice that u made a video about me
Does anyone think this guys voice sounds like the amagis voice😂😂😂😅😅😅
I played the very first two games as a kid and the first new norse one as an adult. I missed so much story in between hence why I'm here .
Yeah makes me wish I had a PlayStation to play thru these games bout to hop into 3 or 4 soon
Its crazy that kratos was demigod from the begining and he have nothing no superstreght no magic no nothing only after the blades of chaos
I like how the guy says dúo to atrues and Kratos cause he forgot mimir existed
8:45 kratos casually does the entire doom game series
I love god of war because while kratos was right by the box of pandora he got clapped by areas
