- Actor, author, and producer Bruce Campbell spoke at Hastings College over the weekend. Best known for his work on "Burn Notice" and the "Evil Dead" trilogy, Campbell was chosen through the Artist Lecture Series to speak on the topic of fear. Prior to his speaking engagement, a press conference was held on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Daughtery Center.
Campbell covered a wide array of topics ranging from his legacy, the horror genre, making movies then/now, consumer markets, being stereotyped, finding investors, and his future projects.
Afterwards, Campbell introduced his iconic B-horror film, "Army of Darkness" to audience members in the French Memorial Chapel. He briefly took time to provide the crowd with trivia stories and facts involving the film. - Zábava
More often than not, Bruce Campbell does Q&As in his "on" mode; he plays to the crowd and dishes out one liners (and is bloody good at it too). However, this is one of the few Bruce Campbell Q&As I've seen where he's just being himself and answering questions with candour. As much as I appreciate Campbell's shtick, it's really cool to see him just let loose and speak his mind.
Probably because this is a much more mature minded audience, not a fan expo or something (which are wonderful in their own right)
40% in he really gets into it, you REALLY learn a lot of practical film making, how much easier it is nowadays. Guy's a veteran.
Jim Carrey might have the best "rubber-face", but Bruce has to have the best expressive-face. I swear he can tell a whole story with just those looks.
Bruce Campbell must have a very high IQ? At least he is too intelligent and smart (and honest) for Hollywood.
Dude I don't know you, but I whole heartedly agree with your comment
It's cool to hear Bruce talk about the industry.
Great insight into the biz and extremely honest answers, who else would say that they aren't a horror fan if they have a large following in that genre? can't wait for Evil Dead Tv series :)
I missed this !!!!! damn would have loved to hear him speak, but glad for the video.
thanks for posting!
Thanks for the video, it was an enlightening Q&A.
I'd love to live in a country where this man is the president
I would love to sit down with him and just talk about the process of film making.

Half an hour of people without microphones asking questions. Awesome.
Im a guy that never watched horror till I became a bruce campbell fan. I almost watch him so I can figure out what it is exactly that I like about him. But these q&a segments are priceless.🧔🏻👍🏻
Great info for filmmakers!
Bruce Campbell for Hastings College's press conference. 'nuff said

This is so true what Bruce says
Is this before he wrote “confessions of a b movie actor”? Cause he kind of came up w that title himself

i have seen i do not like it some parts i like
I like him but he seem like he pretends to resent horror bc his acting career didn't take off in serious acting parts .so he deals with the movies that made him. Like evil dead . But he knows alot about the business I agree with alot of whst he says.
I love Evil Dead but I don’t like most horror movies
I think people who dont like horror are people who are not happy, kind of depressed, so they dont want to see negative things, things that represent their own life. Only happy people like horror.
Nah, I'm depressed as fuck and I love horror. I think about good I have things when I watch others go through worse pain and suffering. Even if it is fiction.
People who don’t share my interests are depressed. Big losers!
walking dead has become shit, especially this past sesson.
Edit out the "pussy" in "pussyfoot", which has no sexual context, and simply means to step lightly as a cat, or pussy. But don't edit out "balls" from "balls out", which also has no sexual context but refers to how output of a steam engine is measured. That makes zero sense. Do some research before you censor something that doesn't need censoring.
Yeah i was honestly a bit confused about that hahah
