Could you help me with any tips? I have a Toshiba A660-042 with core i7 740qm, and I always had problems with booting. I replaced the HD with an SSD and I can't install an operating system like Linux, Windows, neither with a pendrive nor with a DVD, when the installation starts, it takes about 7 seconds and the cooler speeds up a lot and turns off the notebook. I can't even use a Linux live CD because in the middle of booting the CD the cooler speeds up a lot and turns off the notebook. What could this problem be? Thank you for your attention.

Hello friend! Depends on the version of your MB it can be possible to upgrade with new CPU, but only with one compatible with the socket. You have to search for detailed info about your MB. Big number of MBs can't be upgraded.
Is there a limit to how much ram can I insert? Can i upgrde ram to 16 gb?
8 GB is a limit
