On my 13th birthday, the parents gave me a VHS camcorder. A few weeks later, we installed the tripod-mounted camcorder through our car's sunroof. Here's our family's 40-minute Seattle trip compressed into 6 minutes.
Starting point: 11635 1st Avenue South, Burien, WA
Ending Point: Seattle Park
Enjoy the historic Seattle relics, like the Superdome!
Music referenced in this clip:
* Lisa Gerard ("The Insider" Soundtrack) - Liquid Moon
* Air (Talkie Walkie) - Run
* Lisa Gerard ("The Insider" Soundtrack) - Meltdown
* Paul Hardcastle - First Light
* Clint Mansell ("The Fountain" Soundtrack) - Stay With Me

You have to go to Everett now to get an idea of what Seattle was like in the 90s.
lo and behold, everett is now another commuter town for the pigs to march into the slaughter house of seattle :(
I lived there in 1993. I was still a young man and It was such a joyful time in my life. Thank you.
did you ever get food poisoning outbreaks i there cause someone told me there was a big one
up*
@@ezthvn Who? What?
Like the Jack in the box ecoli outbreak, I remember that. I remember the one by the Space Needle
I was 12 when this was filmed Born 81. For my 12th bay I got a Panasonic ag456. My dad rigged up rails With a 4x4 matte box and follow focus. Still have it today, not many young video Grapher kids in my area at the time. Glad to see others out here doing the same thing.
good old grunge days
long live kurt
Laine Mike Andy and Chris too.
Love the video. I too was born in 80 and grew up in Burien. That place sure has changed
1st Avenue south bridge, viaduct, Western Street exit, lower Queen Anne, Magnolia trestle, Discovery Park?
Man, you just made me go and look for all the songs on this video! I miss Seattle, "Pikes Market" and there's a restaurant on the water front, called " The Crab Pot", man they literally come out and throw your food onto the table. I used to drive every other day from Ft. Lewis to Seatac to pick up wounded Soldier's. A lot of late nights, but I miss that job. Thanks for the video and bringing back some great memories! God Bless
Wish I could have seen Seattle like this, I was born in 94.. city is nothing like this anymore.
Great music btw. Cheers
It hasn't changed at all since 1990s, even the I5 heading to Seattle looks the same lol I know exactly where this was filmed lol
@@joc-asmrtingles9860 they mean the music you fucking idiot
It was a great time to be a kid in Seattle in the 90s.
good old days no traffic
i love 90s
‘80s though 😉
My uncle lives across from where the arco gas station used to be in Burien. Really cool vid.
Moved there fall 92 it was a good time to be there
Thanks for sharing this! I was 11 in 93 living in Kent. Really brings back memories watching this.
Seattle isn't as fun as it used to be. We don't have the carnival rides at Seattle Center anymore.
I know Seattle is beyond dead
Seriously? That's terrible. I remember everything about the Seattle Center until the early 2000s when I left.
Thanks so much for sharing!
thanks for sharing your video I was in high school at the time great memories.
This was great. I had recently graduated high school when this was filmed and Seattle in the '90s was the best as downtown was being redeveloped and it was very safe with so much to do day and night. Despite the video being super fast and feeling a little car sick (haha), I thought you left from the Burien area and ended up at Queen Anne's Discovery Park. From your notes, it seems I was correct (there is no Seattle Park so I presume that was what you meant). I can't believe I remember Seattle that well. Thanks for the memories of my hometown that I left long ago.
This video took me back home. Thank you.
I am glad you enjoyed the short trip. Now, we must return back to reality.
Whoa, you chose the first song I ever tripped balls to for this trip back through time, how appropriate.
Loved the songs in the video!!
0:32 man i May be only 17 years old born in the 2000’s but damn that turn and driving down that long road gives me nostalgia, it’s crazy how it looks almost identical today. I recently moved from burien and I sorta miss the town feel.
as a kid growing up in Seattle this brings back memories thanks for posting
Nostalgia is the sweetest fruit!
yep 91 baby seattle so different now especially the south side . an west side of the city love it!
This is sooo dope
That's pretty cool, I live in Bellevue was cool to see the city 20 years ago again lol
I see this started in White Center, so nostalgic
Damn I miss the 90's in Seattle and Spokane, Portland, Tri Cities, Vancouver BC🤘awesome times. I didn't realize then that was gonna be the end of something special. I thought things would keep growing or getting better but it all came to an abrupt end..... Sadly
Wow!... i just realized tbis was posted 13 years ago
R.I.P. 0ld Seattle & its scene🔥🤘
I lived in Magnolia at that time. I'd love to go back to '93

Hey man, quick question. Did you live in Burien as a teen? I see you in the start of the video you were going down 1st AVE S. As a native of White Center I can recognize this instantly. It is such a treat to see Burien and Seattle as how it was when I was a child. I was six when you recorded this and have many fond memories of Old Seattle. Thank you so much for this. Even though I no longer live in the country this is such a treat.
Yeah. We lived in Burien during Summer of 1993. Thank you for the comment! -Edward
Pretty cool.
I do this route every week now.
That time was better.
Brought back some memories, thought of running the full 40 min?

Started in burien right
Correct. Starting point: 11635 1st Avenue South, Burien, WA
That's what I've noticed lol
Yeah a large portion of it is already gone. Pretty wild. I like ur vids, at least the mad drivers one and this one since im partial to the Pacific NW, born in Seattle raised in Spokane.
I used to live up on 160th and 7th Ave South. By Highline Hospital. Left there in '90.
Best decision you probably ever made lol
Can't this was what it looked like before i was born in '05
I sure miss those times.....
Good tunes...trip.
I love this :) I was born & raised in Seattle - born in ‘88. So this definitely feels reminiscent. Would you mind if I possibly use some of your footage in a personal art piece? Would give credit of course/link to your YT. Nothing commercial. At the most would just be shared on my personal FB with my friends.
Oh, and great choice in music! it fits perfectly.
Sure, go ahead. Take a look at my 33-minute (real-time) version. There is less motion blur. czcams.com/video/OO9tPD59K_4/video.html
@@anthodiumWhat School Did You Attend When This Video Was First Made?
Definitely in the summer all the grass on i5 is brown I would have been at day camp while my parents were working so sad to see what has became of the working middle class communities in my home town
Weird! I lived literally a block away from this person and we are around the same age. Probably went to high school together!
can i use clips from here on a music video? will credit

What are tehe songs in this video?
you must have been one of those rich kids from Normandy park. you got on 509 in south park and cruzed the 1st ave bridge. You couldn't be from top hat maybe burien but most likely normandy park.

What is the name of the song starts on min 1:19
Khaled Manhi all the songs are in the description
I wish this video wasn't sped up, so I can see the changes of those areas in more detail.
Hi. I still have the original unedited 45 minute video file. I created this music video in 2010 just for fun. I thought: "Who would watch all 45 minutes of our family driving?" Some day, I may upload the original.
Anthodium Films - You'd be amazed because people want to what was around 25 years ago and all of the changes today. It's cool that you have this. Thank you 🙂
