I remember my mother saying those words, “I don’t want you to be alone” yet by denying my authentic self and living a life of torment hiding my self away I was alone. It wasn’t until I came out and accepted myself despite anyone else’s opinions that acceptance could occur. This is a wonderful edit showing that specific struggle of Shelbys. My own church minister tried to pray my gay away nothing about any of that was helpful, this shows the torment and struggle. Thanks CAM for drawing her story out as it is an important one to be told.
