Great compilation. My two favorite ads were 1) Rice ads where an Indian and a Pakistani girl discuss how similar/different they are and 2) Jewelry Ad with the song, Sanu Ek Pal Chain Na Awe.
Wow. Many of these ads really reinforce old-fashioned gender roles. Indra Nooyi is an Indian-American and successful CEO of Pepsi. Nikki Haley is an Indian-American and UN Ambassador. How many women in India have had the door opened by society to rise in business (not family business) or government thanks to their own merits? Female prime minister doesn't count. South Asia has always had a penchant for dynasty or legacy prime ministers: Indira Gandi, Benazir Bhutto, Khaleda Zia, Sheikh Hassina.
polyglot8 the videos do not promote this . If you look at the details of some of these ads women are given respect and honor . Honor isn’t only given by having female ceos, women are taking managerial positions when they deserve it .
