  • It is being reported that Prince Misuzulu - heir to the Amazulu throne has returned to Nongoma under heavy police guard. He has whisked away last night when chaos erupted after Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zuma's will was read. There were dramatic scenes as the will was read out, with some family members openly voicing their disapproval over the choice of 46-year-old Prince Misizulu as the heir. It has now transpired that Prince Thokozani Zulu is in hiding for his safety. This after he raised concerns about the contents of the Queen's will.
    The faction that supports Prince Thokozani says its is seeking legal advice in challenging the late Regent's will and will make a public statement later this week.
    At the same time Cultural expert, Professor Sihawukele Ngubane, says all members of the AmaZulu royal household will have to accept Prince Misuzulu Zulu as the next king of the AmaZulu nation.

      Akukho phutha la akakabekwa ngokomthetho okanye ngokwesiko. Without a crown or a throne he is not regarded as a King.Uthola umklomelo sowudlule ebhandeni okwamanje sisagijima.

    let me correct you, the king is born not elected the only thing left is for him to accept the the Kingship. If He does not the next one on the lineage is considered

      Does he automatically become king immediately after passing of the previous or is there a coronation equivalent ceremony 1st before he's official titled king?

    I don’t understand why the new king had to be nominated in a will. I thought as in all royal families that the eldest son/daughter of the deceased King, ( as in UK ) would automatically be king.

      @ntombifikilepetronellamkhw3760 Před 3 lety +13

      No! Unlike "in the UK".... Here in "South Africa" and as per our "Zulu Custom" MisuZulu is the rightful King... How? You may ask...
      If the king on the throne marries a princess from a Royal family (eg: Queen Mantfombi) who is from the Swazi Royal house):regardless of whether she is the first or third wife. Her first born son will take over the kingship if and when his father passes on. Because of his Royal bloodline!!!
      You should read up on South African history, cultures and customs... Or Zulu culture for that matter... Knowledge is power bakithi

      @@ntombifikilepetronellamkhw3760 what happens if all the five wives were from different royal houses? I think your explanation is slightly correct. I am not expect of Nguni culture but I think the great house comes from the wife who's lobola was collected from the nation. In Venda custom and tradition the great house is to be kept a secret until the king, chief etc. is to be replaced. The lobola of such a house comes from the father either using the lobola that he received from those who marry some of the princess. In some instances the paternal uncles will have join hands and marry that woman. Very few people within the Royal family will be privy to this to protect the would be leader of the family. But with the zulus l don't understand the WILL! The late queen further wrote about a vote by her children if the brother refused! Is this politics! The PALACE is to be jointly owned by the children. I thought it was built by Tax for the King so it must be owned by the following king! Is the new Ruler going to build somewhere else?
