I know you were trying to not use a lot of oil but you have to at least cover the bottom of the pan if you want that golden brown look. You can always squeeze the oil out later.

Hi Chef Ricardo...Thank you, for this recipe...I am listening to what you were saying, about flour...Please! correct me if I have mistaken...Bit didn’t you say! You use plain flour, and not self rising?...But, at the same time..,You continue to pick up the cup of flour and Said; “Look this is self-rising flour.” Hmmm...Did you mean, to say otherwise 🤔?
