  • Mr. Igboke Onyebuchi, the Convener of the Office of the Citizens of Enugu, is among the residents of Enugu State who lost their business centers during the demolitions at the Holy Ghost axis. He joins us on the program to provide answers to these questions some of which include:
-Was any compensation given, and if so, how was it awarded?
-Which government officials are the affected individuals engaging with?
-Was there a specific place you were asked to relocate to?
-The government was said to have given 7 months' notice ahead of the demolitions. Why do you think some people claim, unlike others, that they were not given enough notice? Could it be that the landlords who heard about the notice did not inform them about the seriousness of the planned eviction?

I support the idea as long as the affected properties are compensated.
However, the properties in this area are shanties, perhaps only the polytechnic have structure worth to look at twice , the rest are just an eye sour as you find in the whole of southeast makes your eyes wet with tears.
It is about time we do away with shanties in all over enugu if we want to project enug as tourist destination.. We live in 21st century so let's move with the time.
The bus terminal will raise standard of edifice in the state especially how shop should be constructed . Gone are the days no difference between chicken house and shop humane carry out trading activities. We don't want to see any more 3x4 shop size in enegu again. Have you seen the beautiful shops in the Ariari international market in aba ? Is it not beautiful ? it shows how shop should look like in this 21st century. I love it ! I wish Peter mbah can turned the dilapidated Ogbete central market like that to befit the new vision for enugu.
Despite Peter mbah weakness in some aspect I sense he has good idea for enugu.

The government should retain the railway line that runs through the Holy Ghost axis or possibly create a train station at the new central terminal.
