I truly wish the guards were allowed to shout at these idiots. Female guard 55:34 is a real cutie. What a handsome guard 57:59 is. And of course the guard 58:50 is handsome as well.

we live in a country under terrorist threat all the time to a greater or lesser degree.. THAT is why the armed police are there.
They are Ministry of Defence police and are present at almost every British military establishment here and abroad. In place for the security of the establishment and its immediate surroundings and for the safety of any civilians present. The Ministry of Defence police are the lead body of the Counter Terrorism unit so that will give you an idea of their basic function. Absolutely nothing to do with the Metropolitan police.
Because they can't react to defend themselves only shout to protect the horses they are on guard duty strict rules to obey

It’s past the time to close horseguards, for the safety and well being of the horses, and the sanity of the guards, neither deserve to be mauled and mocked by idiotic members of the public( obviously there are some who are respectful, I thank those who are).....Because we are a democracy, and not a dictatorship people are allowed to express themselves in the correct setting obv, but so many choose to abuse this courtesy, and abuse our country’s hospitality. I would love to see our Chinese visitors, who are among the rudest, try this behaviour in their own country! This does nothing but cause I’ll feeling and resentment amongst British people seeing the revolting disrespect that is tolerated on a daily basis disregarding our ancient history and traditions, it’s pitiful to watch this happening.

When you zoomed into one of downing streets windows, the net curtains are shatter proof. So if there was an explosion (hopefully not) they would stop glass and debris causing any damage !

Actually, you video chaps aren’t any better than the tourists you all despise. You are also standing there with your cameras continuously pointed at the guards. Even with a very large close-up of that one black soldier in this video. Pretty rude if you ask me. I bet the guards are equally tired of seeing you all there day after day filming their every move.
Even though it is a public place, I don’t think any of the tourists either are happy to end up on your sites scorned and ridiculed by you - even the ones who behave nicely. 😡

Hardly window dressing,they are all regular soldiers . The ‘real’ guards as you call them are MoD Police and are not there to ‘guard the guards’ so much as to keep an eye on the hoi polloi.

These horses are better cared for than many people, they have good stabling, plenty of food care and attention. They even get holidays at the seaside where they can run and roll in the sand. All the troopers care for them and they only do 1 hour at a time in the box. Not much cruelty there. Like us they all have bad days and good ones but overall if your a horse it’s not a bad place to work!
