Not built for track records, but still the best breed ever. We tried this with mine once. She got out of the blocks fast then realized it would be more fun to rough house, so she just tackled the closet competitor so they could wrestle. Still finished 3rd because most of the other competitors got sidetracked by their noses and wandered away.

I am so glad people are finding this video and finding joy in it. Tragically, we lost Bruce a couple months later when he got loose from a friend's yard and was struck by a car and killed instantly. He was the best damned dog I ever had, and so sweet and loving to everyone and everything. It was a terrible loss, but it's just like Bruce to bring this much joy to people still.... We have our daughter's Bassett Hound ❤️ Our daughter passed away two years ago the 23rd of this month😭💔But when she got her she was abused and neglected😭💔 But Elexus brought her a long ways and they had so much love for one another ❤ BASSIE LYNN was chained to a tree on a large short chain with no water, food nor shelter.... She is full of so much love❤️ She looks like Bo Dereck on the movie 10 when she runs... LOL😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 She's brought alot of joy into our lives❤️ And she's very vocal and smart❤️

I have had 2 rescued Nassrt Hounds. I soon learned one must have a sense of humor when sharing a home with this type of dog.

My tow rescue Bassets, Thelma Lulu and Lousie Mae were visiting Pet Therapy dogs and brought a lot of joy and laughter to a lot of residents of long term care facilities for many years.
At first I thought this was going to be horrendous and cruel but it turned to be adorable - wonderful!

From the time I laid my eyes on Uno I knew he or she was a winner! Good going girl. Lovely to see these races. We don't have anything like this in the Caribbean 🌎where I live, nor do we have basset hounds here.😪

Random fact: Bassets are perhaps the only breed of any animal specifically bread to be slow.
