    I loved wild at heart at the time when I read it in my early 20s. It set me on fire for God. Since then unfortunately my faith has been tested and I’ve been left to question whether Jesus exists many times. I had a terrible accident that broke my hand in several places and taken away my ability to play music like I love. And I met a very wicked woman that used me and went as far as sabatogijg my life when I was trying to help her. Literally giving me criminal charges that we’re falsified that haunt me for my entire life. My own Christian compassion of helping others and seeing the good in ppl and putting myself second is really the cause of some of my downfall. I’m trying to keep the faith and get back on the horse but it’s very difficult. I’ve been so lost for so long. Friends and family don’t understand or care. Been left to walk this road alone. Im still grateful as I know it could always be worse. Im blessed still. It’s just not easy when we suffer these trials wrongly

    He has the ability to bring Jesus to life and not many can do that. We all crave to see Jesus in this way. In my whole life I don't think I've ever seen a picture of Jesus that resembles what I would think He would look like. So many of the pictures look weak, sad, depressed, etc. That is not the Jesus of the bible that lovingly touched people to heal them and raised a ruckus in the temple, that comes on a horse. We need to hear more about this triumphant Jesus in this world of little hope.

    I love this book. John's opening prayer, however, flies in the face of the way Yeshua taught us to pray in the scriptures. We are to pray TO the Father IN THE NAME of Jesus Christ. His prayer, basically, ignored the Holy Father.

    I love John Eldredge, but I disagree with him on one point. I do agree that Jesus must have had a fantastically playful personality but teaching that "religion is poison" is quite an inaccurate interpretation of Jesus' condemnation of faulty priests in the Jewish temple. Jesus spoke to people directly, to their wounds, so each Jewish priest felt Jesus' words in the core of their being. No one is crucified for making others feel comfortable. I've been Catholic all my life and I'm closer to Christ because of it.

    • @carina8273
      @carina8273 Před 10 lety +4

      I hear you , alot of discored is raised as we know thru denominational devision. I am a christian woman. But had a dream last night that a high priest wanted the body of Christ united. not devided and the only real deal so to speak is not in what one calls oneself, but in truth and spirit ; He said to have your lanterns lit and ready , and this meant we as the lanterns, and Jesus is the only true way to ignite your lantern. I think that religion without Love is poision, But religion fused by the Holy spirit are those who are true followers of the Lord. I think these words are used because He was just hardest on the super pharisees. But he abided by going to the temple, and reading scripture too. Truth is Light . God Is Love.

    • @American2715
      @American2715 Před 10 lety

      that is amazingly accurate. Apologetics without love just ends in argument. The Holy Spirit is with the Church, not the Jewish Temple, as is evidenced by the growth of Christianity over the last 2000 years.

    • @carina8273
      @carina8273 Před 10 lety +2

      Laurence Goldkamp yes. it's true . Jesus said follow me, he was against religious debate. and I do think it is dangerous to make sweeping statements, and or judgements, we have to be careful of what we say. religion without Love is like the day without the sun. or SON. I wonder what you think of my dream, I told it to a man who kinda likes debating re religion and he said not all dreams are from God. I've been a Christian for 20 yrs, and have had some premonitial, truly premonitioanl dreams my whole life that I did not ask for. and it has made me have to have discernment, as I needed to sift thru what felt like an extra sense. sharing dreams I've learned can be so dangerous. they threw Jacob was it into a well for sharing HIs dream. I know intuitively which dreams are of or from God. they are beautiful. and sometimes instruction. that one, was that I was the ' bride of Christ' but I was repping the Christian Church, and I was standing next to a catholic ( who I also ran from in life) but the priest in the dream, told me that He wanted the body of Christ united. no denominational devision, and that belief of Jesus was an inside thing. as a heart, thing, regardless of a name someone says they are. and He was the Light of the lantern. Only JEsus CHrist is the TRUE light and our lanterns can't be lit unless HE is inside as He is the Light and to be ready and keep our lanterns lit. we were like the lanterns. Now I may have tomatos thrown at me for sharing this, or critisism, but want to know what you think of it. I was already critisized for having it. religiously . and I am not against religion, as Jesus studied. scripture. went to temple. I am a Christian. and I want to be a real one. Love thinks no evil! I want to learn how to think how Jesus wants me to think.

    Love your teachings, absolutely beautiful. I try to understand why Christians celebrate "Easter" which is a pagan holiday to celebrate the goddess of fertility, hence the eggs and the rabbit. The word in the KJV Easter is wrong which was done by the translators. The actual word is Passover not Easter. So why do we still acknowledge Easter which is idol worship? By these things you can clearly see that even in the protestant reformation much of the Catholic traditions are carried over. Follow His word and let go of traditions of men.

    • @allenrm120
      @allenrm120 Před 7 lety +1

      420Fire Ministry Ohio What you are saying is true; however, I also see that the influence of Christ has taken over and replaced these pagan celebrations with days that celebrate his birth and resurrection. These "holy days", while not perfect, are today, 2 times a year in which many in the world who need Jesus are more open to his perfect message of good news. I praise God for two more opportunities a year to share Jesus. I like the fact that halloween is being taken back fir christ in the form of Christian hay rides and harvest celebrations. Oerhaos this will spread to pagan movies and tv and Christians will take a misused medium and use it for sharing the Good News. Blessings.

      @@allenrm120 Question: What does GOD'S WORD say about using other gods names or other practices to worship GOD?
      Do you recall, in Exodus, when the Israelites made a golden calf?
      Exodus 32:5
      When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to YHWH"
      Your line of reasoning follows the same process:
      2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18
      What fellowship has light with darkness?What accord has CHRIST with Belial?Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?What agreement has the Temple of GOD with idols? For we are the Temple of the Living GOD; as GOD said,
      “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
      and I will be their GOD,
      and they shall be my people.
      Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the LORD,and touch no unclean thing;
      then I will welcome you,
      and I will be a FATHER to you,
      and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the LORD ALMIGHTY.”

    I was originally put off by what I perceived as pride when John was congratulating people for showing up; it smacked of self-congratulation and "secret knowledge". However, as I listened, I found myself saying, "This guy reads the bible like I do!" He sees the real story rather than the religiously taxidermy that is so often presented as a bible story (think recent TV Bible series that are so idealized they seem like a fairy tale and have no real resemblance to the scripture). There are many plain things in the bible that we miss because we see Jesus as something other than a real human being who lived life one minute at a time, just like we do. He was not hedonistic, though. Every word and every minute had a purpose. And, while I somewhat disagree with the message of "Wild at Heart", I think John does reveal very well what the real Jesus was like.

      Many perceive confidence as arrogance because from an outside perspective the only tool for perspective is our own character and if we lack confidence and are arrogant we will project that on the confident and falsely accuse them.

    Jesus is the literal son of Joseph and Mary. That is the way the Only Begotten (spiritual) Son of God became God incarnate. He came down with a divine spirit through the same mortal channels as the rest of us. He proved it was possible, as a human, to follow the way of the Father. He asks us to follow him.
