    I feel like a better nerf would be to just up the kills needed for the e to 3 instead of 2 and make it so that orbs don’t spawn from assists.

    Iso's whole theme is isolating fights, it's in his name it's his whole ultimate. I think his E skill should reflect that, I think an interesting change should be his shield only covering his sides and back, keeping the 2 kill refresh and the 20 sec timer. This way he eliminates cross fires while still being vulnerable to his front

      that would be interesting to see but you aren't rlly eliminating crossfires with that since from the way you described it the shield is still just a one bullet type thing. If there are two people setting up a crossfire even if you kill one the other one is shooting you from a diff angle and just needs an extra shot to kill you

    The changes to Iso were only ever meant to be temporary. His buff was only meant to be a "test of power" and his "nerf" coming in the new act is a test of balance. Once everything is to our mind in a balanced state with Iso he will remain in the state he is. Please continue to give us feedback while we try to find the best possible outcome for Iso.

      I think the issue behind Iso’s kit is that every other duelist has a “get out of jail” button.
      Reyna dismiss, Yoru gate crash, Jett dash, raze satchel, at least Phoenix has a molly and flash and wall to punish enemies for trying to engage him head on.
      Iso has… not much aside from his shield. Sure his vulnerability is nice, but it requires another agent to combo their utility off of (raze nade, Sova shock, etc.)
      And then we have ISO’s contingency. It’s a… decent ability that works in some specific situations (scaling up C or A long on Haven, scaling up showers or B long on bind, scaling up B long in Icebox, etc.), but what would make it a universally excellent ability would be to make it stop like a harbor wall (to compensated prob make the wall break after receiving certain amount of damage) if you press the button again. This gives Iso the breathing room that allows him to truly “isolate” specific fights.
      Just a suggestion to reinvigorate ISO’s kit a little. So far I really like the changes that duelists have received where it’s not an obvious choice which duelist to pick on each map (unlike before where it’s just raze or Jett) and I do appreciate the balancing team for what they’ve done so far. I hope you consider this change and bring it up to the balancing team in the future!

      idk if ur a dev or all but i just would like to say this:
      first: its nice to hear ur commend just testing some things
      second:
      Iso is an interesting character like Reyna, they both are a bodyguard duelist which means that there job is to get their team through main so they can entry and push further.
      But making the characters running it down agents isn't really healthy for the game.
      you could do something like get iso to be able to give his shield to his teammates when they lost their shields?
      maybe get some insparation from controllers? get them to close off a commen angle but obviously worse than controllers?
      like make iso s' shield kinda like his wall ability, isolating 1v1 or temporarly closing peeks for a few seconds, get iso's shield to work around him and the front open? something like that.
      third:
      for reyna maybe try the same aas my first thought for iso, get her to give some overheal or something like that to her teammates kinda like how she tries to get to her sister
      reyna is kinda tough, her dismiss is really powerful now and really a run it down get a kill and get out getaway ability, try to make her more visible so its easier to get her location after or get her dismiss to take her overheal back so she doesnt have both, but she can overheal so you do get out but ur extra hp is gone

Like clove ult, you can't get your ult if you die with one charge off. You get it after the round completes. I feel duration shortening is good, but having only one charge and not being able to get it back if anyone rotates or waits it out is bad especially coming from 2 charges which avoided this, I would have personally fought for a shield like before than this, it’s great sure but it doesn’t help isolate fights as much, decrease duration but allow 2 kills for charge and as I mentioned above like the clove ult or maybe give a timer to get that charge back! Not instant 10 sec maybe or 15 or whatever makes sense

    i think riots biggest issue is making multiple changes to an agent at the same time. if they just went with one of the two changes they want to make to iso i think it would work for what there trying to do but making both just makes the character feel weak asf and not in a game balancing way, just in a 'I dont want to play iso anymore' way

    It's like Riot is telling you specifically. "Since you can't get a reset now, you need to constantly push with your shield because you can't get a refresh... On a 12 second ability in a 2 minute round.

    I come back after 2 months of uninstalled. My pc crashes while loading into a swiftplay. By rhe time I can get valorant open again, there were 2 rounds left. In those rounds I got myself out of bottom frag.
    1.5 hour ban (not too bad I just do something else)
    7 DAY COMP BAN
    FOR MISSING A SWIFTPLAY, which I didn’t even fully miss. Thanks Rito, really makes me wanna play.

    My iso change that I think would work best is give me back the recharge after 2 kills, keep it 20 seconds BUT change the shield so it halves the damage. So if it's a vandal headshot instead of doing 160 it's does 80, body shot 20 and so on. I think this is pretty balanced and could work well. Where he is still good in a team but he isn't on a timer to be useful

      Literally the idea I thought of too, it'd keep his ability to peak without being one shot, the whole strength of his shield. But it'd prevent him from being able to do it multiple times in a single round, since the other team would more quickly take his health down to zero.

      that sounds kinda even more broken no? So instead of needing just an extra bullet you need double as many. Maybe if they remove the whole shoot orb after kill thingy (which I hope they don't its what makes iso fun imo) then maybe that could work

      @@rzrdusk1615 not really, iso is the only agent in the game who can objectively gain a 1v1 advantage at the press of a button. This change still keeps his main mechanic, while fixing his main issue of completely negating enemy chip damage.

      It also keeps his ability to take out snipers, at the cost of a significant tag, which I think is important, because currently he just pops his shield and w keys any sniper on the enemy team.

    An idea nerf for iso would be to receive the damage of the shield break except be left at 10hp if it would kill, and then he receives his hp back if he shoots he wins the gunfight and shoots the orb.
    Make the orb duration shorter, so he has to make a quicker decision.
    This would make make trades against iso possible, and make it easier to duel against.
    To compensate if needed he can recieve and 3 kill reset no assists.

    the difference is one is hp and one is a shield that can block any bullet/projectile so u can make dumb plays but u can get away with it more cus u can take a bullet that u cant with reyna

    They could make it so that while the shield is up there’s no timer, but as soon as it goes down you only have like 7 seconds to get another kill to refresh

    Move his shield to be an addition to his ultimate so the power it provides actually makes sense. Replace the shield with something else. Perhaps an ability that can negate/remove certain utility/debuffs for only himself. Make his wall stoppable and maybe increase the width of it by a player or two.

    I think the nerf they should have done is remove the Orb Mini Game outside of the ult then add back the 2 kill reset.
    Basically you put the shield on and it stays on for a longer duration. But when you kill someone with shield up, you don't get an orb to reset shield. Once the shield breaks, it's gone. The only way to get another shield is to get another kill.
    So essentially you would put on a shield before a fight, most likely win because of it, but then you don't have your shield anymore. You need one more kill to get another charge. Which you can do by using his vulnerable or something.
    The only exception to this is his ult. If you Winn the ult, an orb will spawn for you to refresh the shield you most likely lost in it.
    This way, you can tweak some of his other abilities (namely making his wall stronger) to be an overall more balanced agent.

    What I'd like to see is iso in his buffed state with the only change being that shooting the orb simply recharges the ability instead of insta reapplying the shield. This would add a bit of a delay between each peek and give multiple sound queues

    tldr: Once his shield keybind is hit, he does not gain a shield and rather gets a 20s timer. If he gets a kill within this time he is rewarded with a shield without having to shoot an orb, but only after a 1/2 second timer from getting the first kill, so that he is rewarded for ISOlating his fight, and to not make the ability as annoying or bs to play against. After that each kill has an orb. Furthermore, his two kill cooldown (or perhaps even a one kill cooldown, as getting a kill and activating his "e" would not make him immediately have an advantage) should be kept, but be changed so that kills only count towards it when Iso no longer has an "e" ability equipped.
    Iso being able to automatically equip the shield without getting a kill first because that makes it sorta broken, especially against 1 shot weapons (pistol round, snipers, vandal). How I would adjust Iso would be taking @julialee7491 's comment ("They should just shorten the duration and keep the 2 kill cool down and he can't gain charges for it until his shield duration finishes. Like clove ult, you can't get your ult if you die with one charge off. You get it after the round completes.") and make it so rather than his shield activating on press of the keybind, I would make it so that the first kill automatically shields without shooting the orb after .5 seconds of getting the kill. Timer is back to 20s, so that if Iso peeks and gets one and gets out, he did what his character was built for: "ISO"lating 1v1s and he's rewarded for it. The .5 second timer is so that he cant peek two people, instakill one, and then immediately have the shield so that he dodges a shot from the second person because he SHOULD get punished for peeking two people and instakilling one regardless of his ability. Iso's abilities shouldn't make fighting him feel unfair or bs, at least not until he has earnt that advantage-- aka killing an opponent before getting his shield. That way he is rewarded for isolating fights. It is inherent to any ability that gives one an advantage in an fight that also has a timer to prompt them to overpeek and play overly aggressive at the end of their timer. The good thing about a longer timer is that it gives the impression they have more time, which makes them cool down and at least think about peeking again.

    Percentage-Based Shield Boost:
    Activation: When the round starts, Iso can activate Double Tap to increase his purchased shield by a small percentage (e.g., 25%).

    What if they keep the duration of double tap for 20 sec and you can use it again after you get 2 kills, but you will not get the orb to shoot to get a shield after you kill an enemy. You will only have that orb if you kill your enemy on your ult

    In my opinion, the one thing that makes him unique is exactly what's making him so hard to balance since Riot wants to retain the aim labs aspect of Iso while not letting him become an invincible tank. If they remove the aim labs ability, I think they can find a way to make him work, but that aim labs recharge is what's making him either blatantly broken or completely useless.

    Honestly i think the duration shorten on the shield itself is fine, possibly even make it shorter but the way you fix iso is the orbs to gain a shield always appear. You get a short duration with the actual shield up, maybe even lowered to 8 or 10s but that isnt the period of time during which you lose the ability to gain a shield.

    How about removing iso's ability to refresh his shield with another charge? If his shield is already active and broken, and he gets two kills without shooting any orbs, he can't renew his shield with the new charge but has to wait out it's duration?

    Iso shield should be focused then when he gets an initial kill insta get the shield instead of having to shoot the orb. Every shield after if he wants the refresh he needs to shoot the orb keep duration as is but remove the two kill refresh on the ability.

    I’ve been having this idea for a potential nerf: Make it so the enemies are also able to shoot the Double Tap orbs. This wouldn’t grant them a shield, but it would prevent ISO from being able to shoot them.
    This would further incentivize “isolating” 1v1s

    An easy change for this is to reduce the shield size so it only protect his body but not his head
    So its either headshot iso or die
    Or just ditch the whole negate damage and change it to defense up/armor for iso instead

    I think when his shield duration is over(not when the shield gets shot), the orb will spawn where he stood for 1 orb, and stays forever on the ground. He have to pick it up (like gekko) to reactivate the shield.

    I think the change iso needs is that when you break the shield you don't get a time gap to get it back, you still have the 2 kill reset and maybe 15 seconds of shields instead of 20/12 that way you don't make reckless desición that can cost your team the round (also you don't get orbs from assists)

    tbh i think instead of removing the 2 kill refresh it should have been changed to a cooldown, itd probably have to be a long one but atleast it add options of not having to literally run it down as soon as its used

    I think that isos mobile shield should be able to stop moving and then continue moving by repressing the button that way he can use it to push sight clear a corner and continue moving with isolated fights. That being said they should remove starting with the shield and revert it back to normal so that he has to win an isolated fight to gain the orb shield.

    One idea is, keep everything the same, but the initial sheild that he gets without getting a kill is quite large and sticks out a lot, so there is a small time window to break the sheild without putting yourself at risk.

    Maybe they should just make the shield and extra 100 over health? It still functions the same in the sense of kill, get an orb, it refreshed to 100.

    My idea is, keep the 2 kill cooldown, and the sheild is there for 20 seconds as well, but the kills that he get while he is fighting with the sheilds don't count. Like the jett ult , the kills that you get with the ult doesn't give you ult orbs.

    they could make it so its a 50hp buff and not a impenetrable shield that way he can still tank a vandal shot but not an operator or raze ult. We don't have an agent with more than 150hp yet so this would be interesting. The only bad thing is this is very different from current iso shield and the community might not like it.

      Some kind of counter needs to be implemented; either that or that his head is still vulnerable. Because right now it just feels unfair to ever fight him. Sure you could fast peek to hit one shot and then peek again to duel him but the risk is just too high and most of the time it's not possible if you are getting rushed on.

    I mean, the no shield refresh is better in my opinion since the most oppressive thing about Iso is that when he has the second shield up, he still have a back up after the time runs out. So having one is enough since you usually take your engagements aggressively and once you are done, you have thinned numbers and could sit back a little. The bigger issue now is the duration. I think reduce 20 seconds down to about 15 or up since 20 is a bit too long in the round. It gives the player and the team time to think before asking Iso to go and take more engagements. But with 12, it is just run it down and pray you are not held.

    I think the main issue with iso at the moment is that the shield is on demand. With this being a thing, he has an advantage on practically every engagement he takes while it is up, which makes it very powerful. The only other agent that has something like that is Reyna with her ult, and even then its probably not as big of an advantage. These nerfs are aimed at making the decision of using or not using the shield more deliberate, because now the iso would have a smaller window to take a fight, and if he misses it the shield is gone for good. Running it down as iso is probably going to be worse then how it was on Reyna, as he gets punished if he takes a 1v2 and doesn't fully recover from the fight.

    I was thinking about the removal of refreshing the E ability as a nerf as well (good thought from Riot), but I do not agree with the time decrease of the ability by 40%. IMO, his shield is really the only good ability he has while the others are mediocur or even just plain bad. I think if this nerf stays, a buff to his other abilities may make Iso a more balanced character (something like making his scaling-up shield see through or his vulnerable to be as strong as a decay from Clove). I wonder what the communitie's thoughts will be on this once the nerf takes place.

    I would just make it so you only get one reset with the shield then give back the two kill reset. That way you have the same amount of shielding but you would have to back from the fight to put on back the shield.

    Every agent should have a refreshable ability that they can get back at later rounds. If they really decide to make the sheild non refreshable , they should just buff the wall in some way and make that refreshable, and the signature ability.

    Better buff/nerf would be, he heals to 100 if he wins in his 1v1 ult, or at least give him 50 shield + whatever health he currently has, nerf would be he no longer gets orbs from assists, and and takes 3 kills to refresh it back, instead of 2, saw this from another comment, but his ult needs something else and more usage rather than just launching it at the start with your shield and can be used when you’ve been tagged

    I think that ISO’s shield should get reworked to have a cap of damage that gets blocked. A headshot with a vandal gets you killed, but a body shot gets blocked like usual

    I think they should only hard nerf one of the two actual nerfs. Either hard nerf his E duration or remove 2kill reset e but litle nerf on duration like 15 or 18s. Or they hold the actual nerf and buff the ultimate which gives you a shield inside of it and let's u reuse that focus stage to get ur shield back

    I feel like maybe they should keep the 2 kill reset but have that duration shortened, because it’s very strong for entrying, but having a reset on 2 kills would make people less likely to over push. That’s just my thoughts, there’s always pros and cons about overturning and nerfing characters.

    To be fair double tap is great but a better idea would've been to keep his signature recharge and just having the ability pop to charge the shield once per round. After recharging the skill, double tap could be popped without the shield but could give iso another chance to regain his shield by dueling

    I think the shield duration is fine at 12s but at least give the double tap effect longer or even as a passive so he can permanently aimlabs even though his shield is gone

    Extend Iso’s shield to 1hr and give him chamber original rendezvous with the 2 tps. Make it so his Q ability detains people and revert his shield regen to just 1 kill.
    Pretty balanced if you asked me

    I think the kill reset stays the same but after getting a kill and the shield with the double tap, the duration won't reset back to 20s (expect the ult), and also can't reapply when the duration is active. It should be good I think

    Instead of orbs instantly refreshing the shield and 2 kills refunding the ability, the orbs could refund the ability and the snowball mechanic could be removed. That way the shield is an easier to use jett dash that's also harder to earn another charge of.

    Make his refresh orb deniable. Shoot an enemy Iso's orb first and he doesn't get to refresh. Might be a fun way to nerf him. Or a secret buff that baits your team, idk.

    kill resets should stay. but after the first use, every use will be how it was originally pre buff iso. first chrage always gives the shield, but other charges(renewed ones) doesnt give shield just starts the timer.

    I think they should make it so the iso shield sound is played as soon as iso starts charging his shield, instead of AFTER the 1 second delay (gives you more time to prepare). Also i dont like that he has such a huge ult where he can literally clear the whole site better and safer than breach, they should narrow the ults hitbox to be somewhat lower (maybe twice as wide as sova ult?)

      @@PaylessNikes that is just incorrect. Iso's ult is around 75% in width and atleast 125% in length. His ult is now already really strong (because of his signature ability) without even looking at the fact he can throw it practically blindly and still hit someone 99% of the time.

    I think iso should have up to three buyable charges for his shield. He would activate it and have to get a kill for it to equip (if they still want to do the shoot an orb thing they could put it more head level). Then his shield would last a long time/ until it is broken. This would raise the skill ceiling for iso. Right now the frustrating thing about iso is he immediately has a shield at the start of the round which spoon feeds him an advantage rather than rewarding him for good play. Then he can just snowball his way to another while he ALREADY has a shield.

    i think realistically a rework of thw shield would best work, it doesnt take a whole hit but halves the damage taken, so if you headshot him with a vandal it would do 80 damage

    My personal opinion I think the iso change is good you still get the shield which is a huge advantage. yeah the cooldown is lower than it used too but you still have a big advantage for twelve seconds.

    I think ISO shield shouldn’t be immune to heavy pen weapons, it should just be treated like a rly big box. So OP still does 100 dmg thru it and sheriff would do like 30 to the body. Leave the cooldown and whatnot alone that way he doesn’t just run it down every round

    ISO rework: Keep the 2 kill refresh, reduce time active to 12 seconds, make it so that instead of completely blocking one shot it instead reduces the damage of the next hit taken.

    I feel like they should leave the shield recharge as is, but just make the shield reduce damage by a large percentage instead of full on negating it. This means Iso can take the risky fights, but can't go forever. They would have to tweak it, but if the shield reduced damage by like 70%, a vandal headshot would give you around 3 fights with shield, Iso could take two op shots to the head with shield, etc. Having Iso take damage but just at a heavily reduced rate would make the reuse of the shield almost come with a fatigue system.
    I also think Iso should be able to stop wall like harbor cascade

    You know how the armour in the shop tanks 66% of the damage right? And neon kills refresh her sprint "juice". They should make it so that Iso focus is recharged by getting a kill so you still have to put it on. The shield should also act like the shop armour tanking 66% of the damage. Any ideas for Ult rework? It's kinda bad rn

      Maybe his ult could grant him a shield that doesn't wear off (better team player) and if you press the weapon swap button in ult, no matter how far you are it would swap weapons with the person you killed.

    Maybe instead of always playing aggressive with iso you could probably mix it up like for his shield yes at the start it would be fast maybe faster than what the nerf would be but as soon as you kill and kill maybe reset and add some time to the duration. i think this is the best for iso so he could play as a duel at the start and play with team if he gets kills

    I feel like to make iso balanced and to make him stick with the classic valorant strategy they should bring back the two kill shield ability regain, remove the shooting orb shield refresh mechanic entirely and do not reduce the current shield ability timer. I know this might take a rework but its needed. Make iso shield like the present jet dash. The upcoming nerf will completely make him strategically unplayable and valorant is a strategic game.

    can confirm that the nerf was super needed though, played games last night trying to get asc 1 back before rank reset and played 4 games. 1 with raze and 3 with iso, i averaged 29 kills on iso.... almost got 40 kills 1 game while getting around 21 with raze, idk maybe i just deserve the higher rank but iso def was a bit broken

    I'm glad they changed Iso and are willing to dial it back alittle. Change is good for the game! F tier agents become A or B tier.
    We are due for some gun changes, hopefully the ares as that gun is in a weird place. It's competing with the specter and stinger. Maybe sidearms as most people stopped using the frenzy.

    Feels like the Jett nerf where you have to charge up her dash. I like the change, other team can just run away and wait it out, if he is running it down. Think it will be a good change in the end

    they could make it so he doesn't start with shield like pre-buff, but remove the activation window so he can shoot the orb on any kill in the round like a reyna soul orb. it removes the need for constant pushing the same way the reyna changes do

    I feel like the big issue with Iso is how easy it is to bulldoze your way through. In theory, a good Iso will barely take damage and be very hard to kill. A simple way to solve this could be making the shield cut down maybe half of the damage from the shot, instead of all of it. That way, Iso would still have that advantage of peeking those first angles while being fully safe from one shots, but it'd reward the enemy with hitting the headshots, so their teammate would only have to hit the headshot again to kill him. Make it last the 20 seconds, keep the 2 kill refresh, that's not necessarily bad, just make it so the shield only tanks half the damage from any shot. Keeps his strength of peeking the first angles while preventing him from being basically invulnerable.

    Shields should have a much shorter duration. Makes it so iso actually has to get aggressive if he wants value out of the sheilds and enemies can back off and wait for timer.

    as a pre-buff iso main, I think that because i have gotten used to his playstyle I think they should brink back the original idea of iso's kit. The original idea was to make it so that after he got a kill he got a shield. However, after this update, I think his kit been destroyed. I used to enjoy playing against Iso players, however now, there's no suspense when going into an ult whether or not he has his shield on. It's always there, or not there. Bring back the old Iso.
