  • In This video I had a couple hours after work to do some channel catfishing. I found a cool new spot under a bridge that was holding some nice fish. I tried my best to explain Current seams in relation to channel catfishing from the bank. Thanks for watching everyone.

A chunk of sponge dunked in a jar of blended minnows works real well. Just keep the jar cool or youre in for a treat.

Great action and content. Thanks for sharing. Question, if you don't mind: do you buy your suckers frozen or buy them alive and freeze them?

I purchase them alive and freeze them! Can’t find them all the time, but when I do I take full advantage 😂

@@TheRiverAddict The other small town that was near the wild rice river was Called Ada.My gramp probably knew every farmer in Norman County as he did alot of service calls to work on their Tractors an Equipment if they couldnt get it into the Shop in Perely so there were just endless spots we could fish at along both the Red River and The Wild Rice. One of my Aunts lived just outside of Hendrum and Her Husband worked at one of the Sugar Beet plants(cant remember which town it was in)and we would go to their cabin at Upper cormorant lake,it was very good fishing too.i always liked the river bank fishing cause i didnt need to have a boat, plus i could walk across the feild an be on the river bank catching catfish in 5 mins, lol.Cant even remember how many i hauled back to the house an cleaned so my gramma could cook them.Do u ever catch any flatheads out of the Red River,i cant remember ever catching one up there,we have alot of them in the rivers an lakes in the southern, illinois area along with the channel cats and Blue cats.im about 35-40 miles east of St,louis Mo in a small farming town called Highland.I wish our fishing was as good as up there, seems like ever since those asian carp got into all of our rivers down here that its had a adverse effect on our gamefish,we still have pretty decent whitebass and in the spring the walleyes an saugers come up into the kaskaskia river beneath both lake Carlyle and Shelbyville, but i dont think its anywhere near as good as it was back in the 80's and 90's.

@@mikeolson7188 they’re only channel catfish in the red river.
They get so big because they don’t have to compete with other catfish species like the blues or flatheads. I’d really like to try for a flat head or big blue someday though.

@@TheRiverAddict There are some absolute monsters down here, both Blue Catfish and the Flatheads.i watched a guy catch one that weighed in over 60 pounds at a local bait shop below carlyle lake back in the 80's.My biggest Flathead i caught from the kaskaskis river weighed about 30 pounds, and yep,we ate em,but that was many, many yrs ago before the catch and release had gotten very popular.Matter of fact, about everything we caught from the white bass, sauger an Walleye, bluegills, crappie and all catfish were kept and cleaned to feed our family.never kept any Largemouths or ocassional snallmouth from any of the Larger corps of engineer lakes, and we never kept a Musky when we would catch them below Lake Shelbyville, in the winter months the musky can be caught in the tailwaters of a couple of the lakes down here.

How's your water levels, mine are low here. But we have gotten some rain, cat are hit an miss right now. I've have more luck with either blood or cheese so far. My grandson hooked a 9.5 pounder. Here like I said we may catch 10 then just dinks next time. You did catch some nice ones. 👍👍
