Thanks so much Caroline. I picked up s many things from this video.
Very Beautiful Book for your Children
Great share! Thanks!
very helpful - thank you
Great tips Caroline! Thank you.
Thanks!
Good tips. I don't have an email list yet, but no from other business that they work! With the KDP, being relatively new, I do the Author Central and add the A+ Content (interior images, etc.) and try to get a PIN up on Pinterest. Like you said though this is not passive income like many "CZcamsrs" like to say - it's work when you start. Thoroughly enjoying personally! Thanks again. Love your channel.
Thanks so much! If you enjoy the work then is doesn't matter if it's passive or not, right!
Thank you excellent video
you just gained a new subscriber🥳

You're welcome!
1.Notify email list
2. Post and promote in social media (not just sell)
3. Get reviews
4. Buy your book
5. Link to Author central
great info
Very good. Thanks.
Thank you!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much Caroline! You give us some very useful tips!!
Thank you!
I've sold 8 books in 3 months organically (since I published it). Is that good or bad? Any idea what the average sales are for low content books within this time frame (with no promo, no ads)? Any advice on how to maximize this? Should I explore ads? Thanks for this info!
Thank you ❤️I just published my first book just a few days ago. I haven’t received the sample yet but it went live. I’m afraid to announce it to my followers before double checking it. But since you mentioned the first week after publishing is important I’m bot sure what to do. Any advice?
Great tips! Thank you 🙏🏻
You're welcome!
Hi Beautiful, Can you please share with us witch program do you use for making a coloring books and how to do it. Thanks a lot.
omg i already published some books & freaking out how i'm going to get them noticed!😂👍 I'm new! I've been watching your videos a ton! I wish i saw you first because the others i saw didn't really make it look like a "business" type of thing. So now i'm thinking about a unique name so i can create social media etc to promote these books! but i had already published 2 books , 3 soon under a random name i thought of 😂 i don't think i can change it?!
No you can't change the author name you used. If you really want to you could unpublish those books and republish under the author name/brand you want to use but if it's only a couple of books, just start publishing any future ones under the brand name you've chosen.
@@MyFreedomEmpire I was actually able to get it changed. I talked to customer support and since I was new and newly published within 72 hours they were able to change it!! 👏👍
"Link to Author central" please make a video about this, like how to do that. Thanks
Thanks for the feedback!
Good advice, Caroline! So many readers and my ARC readers have no idea what it takes to put a book "out there." As hard as the writing/publishing portion can be, telling them that an indie author is also the "marketing" team leaves mouths hanging open. My 3rd historical romance, "Nobody's Bride" was released in early April 2023. I sent ARC's to 30 trustworthy readers and I received 10 reviews on Goodreads before the book went live. At the moment I'm trying to get those 10 to leave their GR reviews on my Amazon page. 😐 Everyone is busy but I need to keep asking.
Can you help breakdown where the best place to start is and what we should be doing concurrently? Set up the email list? Write the book?
I have no clue how and where to start collecting email addresses or anything about this process.
The best place to start is to start creating books. Once you have the hang of it, you are happy with the quality of books you are producing them start adding things like creating email lists and social media. In terms of an email - figure out where your potential customers would be and tell them about your list. Offer something for free for them to join your list. You can then promote that free thing on social media, pinterest, facebook groups etc. You can do newsletter swaps with other people which will help build your list, you can pay for advertising to promote your list.
💝
So how do these tips work with multiple Pen Names?
Thank you for uploading this video.
How to create a list? Please can you make a video on it.
You're welcome! I have a video here czcams.com/video/YfIPesfE27g/video.html
For the e-mail list, we need a blog or a website and followers already. I think the best way for those that are starting out and have no blog and followers (e-mail address) is to start with a social media platform that they feel comfortable with. At the same time, set up the blog and create a tree link everywhere. I doubt we can put an e-mail address on the Author Central page, I doubt it, but even so, most people don't even know about the author page. However, this may change rapidly as customers are more curious.
Having an existing following is helpful yes, but you can still build an email list without that. You can use advertising to promote an email list or do newsletter swaps with other people in similar niches to yours. With the author central page you can put your email address. Its not a link but you can still put it in your author bio,
@@MyFreedomEmpire Thank you, Caroline. I have to research the newsletter swaps; I don't know what that is. Thank you for letting us know about email usage allowed in Author Central. I am learning how to set up my blog to add it to my books too. I'm just starting out, so I need to find some people in my niche. I know about FB groups, and I am part of one, but what I’ve seen so far is when someone suggests collaboration is often misunderstood. Members get upset, and the owner removes the comment. For now, I will do the Author central and my social media platforms just to put myself out there.
Email list: if you don't have a book business, start with friends and relatives (they want to know what you are doing!), as well as anyone you might know (preferably know somewhat well, not just the list from a website) you have done business with. Do you have a banker, a lawyer, belong to Clubs or Churches?
Then use the email list judiciously -- add to it continually, send interesting content, not just sales things an keep growing! I'm new to book publishing, but this is what I have used in two other businesses that helped grow those businesses. PLUS - make a list and keep checking it -- of Caroline's advice.
@@karenungeraffinityfranchis5430 Friends are rarely becoming clients so as do family. In the beginning, ‘some’ will buy your books but eventually, they don't. And that's normal. I left KDP for many reasons and now I am working on a different product for children. However, I remember that some blog courses I took had excellent ideas on how to approach the community in your genre and restructuring your blog conducive to your publishing business and the community you are building.
The question is: where do I get an email list if I am completely new to KDP?
I'm thinking about the same..
You have to build one. Figure out where your potential customers would be and tell them about your list. Offer something for free for them to join your list. You can then promote that free thing on social media, pinterest, facebook groups etc. You can do newsletter swaps with other people which will help build your list, you can pay for advertising to promote your list.
How can I creat email
From where we will have author central option?
Can you, at some point, speak to pseudonyms on KDP? I've read that one needs to create a different pen name for different niches, for recognition and sales purposes, i.e. Can you have more than one pseudonym with the one account you are allowed on KDP?
Yes you can have as many as you want.
Well if I want to publish a book with the same name, book 2 is what I mean, can I still use the same title of I publish it in other places along with Amazon
I'm confused 😕 how can people leave reviews on Amazon and other bookstore sites if they don't actually do a purchase? My books have been up for a very long time and not a single review.
Anyone can leave a review on anything even if they haven't purchased the item. When you see a review that says "Verified Purchase" that mean that reviewer actually purchase the product, if it doesn't say that then someone is reviewing the product either from receiving it elsewhere or they haven't even seen the product but they've left a review.
@@MyFreedomEmpire OK, thank you :)
Does the Author Central show books from all of your author names or is there an author central for each author name?
You need to link your books to author central, it doesn't happen automatically so if you want your author names to be under separate author central accounts you'd need to set up accounts for each of them and then link the books to the appropriate author name
@@MyFreedomEmpire Thank you! That actually makes more sense. I don’t think I’d want everything under one Author Central because it wouldn’t be suitable for irrelevant books to be grouped together. It would be best if each Author Central is dedicated to books that are similar to each other.
What do you do after you submit your first book to KDP, Word Search in this case, but hear nothing back from KDP. And, you don't ever see your book on Amazon. What do you do or whom do you contact? I submitted the book on Dec. 1, 2021. Today is December 9. Just wondering???
I usually give it a week for low content books and if you haven't had the book reviewed yet, contact KDP's support team asking if there is a problem, or ask what the ETA is on getting your book reviewed.
thank you for your video
I make a book with the name curious cat journal and I take this term to the trademark website and I did not find any issue with this term.
but the problem is after a while I back to the trademark website and I put the term curious cat without a journal and I found that it is a trademark.
and now I unpublished my book.
can you help me, in this case, please because I'm scared that my account will be terminated
You should be fine now that you have already unpublished the book. Amazon should only be terminating accounts for active/published books.
On the topic of copyright, there are many words that although they are natural, I find them copyright, like "vital sign" so can I use it normal or not?
I'm unsure what you mean exactly - are you talking about trademarked words/terms?
@@MyFreedomEmpire yes
can I ask Customers to follow me on social media by putting a QR code on the interior of my book?
Is there any benefit to purchasing the book as a customer rather than a proof copy?
I believe it starts ranking you right away rather than waiting until someone finally purchases it
Yes, it does count as a purchase so can boost your rank a little.
Where do you create an email list?
You'll need to get an account with an email service provider like mailchimp or mailerlite or aweber, there's lots of them out there. Create a page/form for people to enter their email address and start asking people to join it.
I saw someone that put his low content book in book sproud and in the reviews people wrote I gor my copy through book sproud ( or sprout can't remember the name)- is it really allowed?
Yes, you can give away free copies of your book through Booksprout then when they leave a review on Amazon they are required to disclose that they received a free copy of the book for review purposes on Booksprout.
@@MyFreedomEmpire Thank you, I will do it.
@@MyFreedomEmpire Hi thanks for this video I learned a lot from it.
Is sprout a good place to get reviews from? Do you have any other suggestions
Iam a bit confused here because I am new to the KDP.
How do you get their email address?
Create a website/landing page/sign up form. Give something away for free related to your product/niche/genre. Ask people to give their email list in return for the free thing. Promote the free thing on social media, through advertising, newsletter swaps with other people related to your product/niche.
If I would buy every book Im poor:)
You say what’s good to do but you’re not telling us how
