*CORRECTION:* bouncing with the bubble shield doesn't give you anywhere near enough height to reach the Spray Can in Lucid Pass. however, you can reach the ledge it's on with enough speed coming off the upper part of the track, so it's still very possible to get it without a Pogo Spring. it's likely also pretty easy using the forward boost from throwing a Gardentop behind you, since you keep your slight elevation from riding it. i'll make sure to show this in a future part.

I didn't actually know the intended methods of getting the cans in Roasted Ruins and Obsidian Oasis. I just ended up getting them through some careful Pogo Spring abuse, though clearly that was the hard way to do it

Of course a guide drops after I already found them all by myself. Storm Rig took me way too long to figure out

youtube gave me suggestions for responses to this comment that included "Glad I could help!", and i just think that's funny. anyway yeah this i understand, if i hadn't held myself to beating the game first (i just 100%ed the challenge board the other week) i would've been working on these sooner ^^; congrats on finding them all yourself though! it was one of my favorite parts of playing ring racers

As a helping grace for anyone looking for the game's Spray Cans, there's 100 of them, but more than 100 race courses. If you're finding any of these too difficult to reach yourself, you're welcome to skip it and pick a different course to track the Can down at.

Really glad I found this tutorial since I didn't know any of these methods, I just cheesed most of them with the spring
....which says a lot about how strong the spring is

I would recommend the Fire Shield instead of Boost Shoes, you can use the shield as much as you want and gain the same amount of speed without it going away after one use. Good for certain cans that might take a few tries to get if you have to launch yourself in a certain way.

this is a good tip! i also know one spray can coming up in part 3 that needs a fire shield instead of sneakers

At 11:14 for regal ruin you could also use a pogo spring and trick downwards to go up to get to the spray can if you’re positioned in the right direction

Good video! I've already found all the cans myself but I appreciate the effort put into this all the same, very comprehensive.
But I cant help but feel theres a (tongue in cheek) missed opportunity in not using the Jet Set Radio character to showcase collecting all these spray cans.

oh but the real answer is i'd have to get said character by collecting most of the spray cans, and i wanted collecting each spray can in succession to be part of the videos. (even if i'll have to reset the file again midway through page 2)

oh! thanks for the heads-up. i realized only while recording for part 2 that item bubbles on the course don't show up in free play ^^; i'll have to keep this in mind going forward

some people say that after 100 cans, you cant get the rest of the 50+ other cans
is there even a way how without using a code ?
(or if custom maps can even have spray cans at all)

    • @CrappyBlue
      @CrappyBlue  Před měsícem

you sure can... but not in grand prix. i'm trying to make a useful resource for grabbing them in either environment. also, this is more fun, to me
on that front i do wish i'd actually shown getting lucip pass's spray can with a bubble shield but, eh, it's fine.
