The Real Rebels of Congo: Searching for Joseph Kony and M23 (Full Documentary)

  • The Democratic Republic of Congo is now home to more than a dozen militant groups, factions of the national army, and scores of rebel combatants. We rode along with US Special Forces and followed the path of Kony and the LRA into the jungle. In the process we learned that the greatest threat to regional security were rebels that no one wanted to talk about: M23.

    The still picture at 8:21 supposedly depicting "Ugandan troops" as the narrator purports, was in actual fact shot by US troops during exercise Southern Accord in Botswana. The joint execise between US troops and Botswana troops was coducted in August 2012. The African men in millitary fatigues are members of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) which have nothing to do with Uganda, DRC or any war. None the less I do enjoy your documentaries, you should do a story on Botswana one day.

    If you are going to report on the real rebels of the Democratic Republic of the Congo , you have to give a brief history on the country and why it is in the position it is today.There would not be a functioning Africa nor a functioning industry without DRC. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is located in the heart of Africa and it contains numerous of minerals that make the world go round and also not to mention it is also home to the second largest rain-forest. The U.S and other imperialist countries support these rebels , they support the leaders who are behind these impurities . Bill Clinton the husband of the now presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and other leaders single-handedly ignored the Tutsi Genocide in the 90's and because of that guilt the U.S. let the Rwandan President Paul Kagame invade the DRC and murder the Hutu's who escaped the war , the Hutu's who had NOTHING to do with the genocide , also they murdered Congolese people , stole minerals and paved the way for more chaos . After that event, the eastern part DRC has been a " free for all ". People , please don't be fooled because there are numerous countries who are benefiting from my country's destabilization.

If you accept an invitation from an organization, regardless of what you personally think of them, to report on their operations, there is an explicit and implicit agreement that they will provide you with what you need to the best of their abilities and that you will abide by their instructions. That has nothing to do with being an American, or anybody else for that matter.

      well,the conflict is between rebels(originally from neighboring countries) and the congolese goverment.The government wants to take back the minerals.

    • @chadhutton8553
      @chadhutton8553 Před 9 lety +9

      Acquiring a clear cut understanding of this conflict is one of the problems in solving it. Not too mention corrupt government and business interests whose rape and pillage Congo's resource wealth thrives under these conditions. I really can't suggest a one stop shop to garner information on it. All I can suggest is watching as many documentaries on the subject that one can find along with reading whatever news you can come across as well. The number of rebel groups operating in eastern Congo alone is mind numbing to get a handle on. Rwanda, Uganda, and their interests come into play, along with business as I stated earlier. Just take the time to research. I found that searching and watching news segments and docs gave me at least a novice grasp of it all.Then with recent fighting and chaos in the CAR(central african republic), I'm sure it will just serve to add to the bullshit that always seems to flow down stream for the Congolese to deal with =/ I will tell you this though Epicpolyphony, with the wealth of natural resources in The Congo, she should be a stable and wealthy nation.However, business interests in the west and neighbouring governments conspire to keep Congo;corrupt, war torn, and haemorrhaging in order to capitalize on that chaos for their own profit
