This does have a Eurovision vibe for sure. Reminds me also a bit of that interval act they did in Sweden last time that was like a tutorial for a Eurovision song. This could actually work very well as an interval act.

I keep coming back to this song because I absolutely love it. This for me is one of the Horne Section pieces that really stands out as a phenomenal bit of music and not just a joke or a comedy track. It's really fantastic. Similar vibes to "Seasons" which I also love. Fantastic.
It's a great song, I agree. I do have to say though that Pete Grogan singing "I ain't got, no story to tell" on Cats does Countdown had the makings of a wonderful song!
Another favourite… I love how unhappy Alex looks for the entirety of this 😂 I’m so happy tHS got a tv show, because it means I get to see absolutely brilliant versions of songs I already massively love.

Would love an answer from someone better versed in Chinese
Maybe add some harmonies and sing a line in mandarin doesn’t really work so well.

That wasn't Cantonese; that was mispronounced Mandarin (Mandarin pinyin pronounced using English rules).
"少就是多" (shao jiu shi duo) or "少即是多" (shao ji shi duo) does mean "less is more", though.
That's the brilliantly subtle joke.
I speak Cantonese and I thought that was French! And I thought that was the joke (say they're gonna sing a line in Cantonese, but immediately do one in French).
