Hi guys this podcast was the best one so far. I’m a carp fisherman 75 years old and carp fished for 30 years always fished from the age of seven. You never stop learning something new and I am always trying to make better hooking rigs and ways to catch more and catch the better size of carp. Your pod cast has inspired me to try other ways. It was amazing to see how each type of fishing could help both match and carp fishing. We have had a really bad algae bloom on my syndicate this year it’s dropped to the bottom now and the rigs are coming back smelling really bad after only a short period of time. Pops come back smelling as well. The carp still pick the baits up. I would be interested to hear how the boys could combat this. All the best boys. Keep this format as a regular pod cast it’s fantastic.

Just on the fish and movement, i use to go Cudmore alot when I was younger and seen this old chap all the time and he use to cast out and reel his bait back really slow and honest to god he caught loads by doing this. I'm talking 15/20 years ago and never give it much thought and after watching underwater it all makes sense. Cracking pod by the way 👏

Maggots are mostly protein. Some African countries include maggot/grubs in their diet
Casters also & would say they are better for water & fish health than processed baits .

Fairest way for these to have a match is have a 2 day match. Day 1 Dovey Carp Rods, Spooner match. Matt Carp Rods and Ringer match. Day 2 they swap around. Highest weight from the pair over two days wins

What I’d really like to see is Ringer, Rooney and Godfrey do a couple campaigns vs some legit carp waters and see what insights their collective competitive angling minds could bring to the table.
Very interesting 2 hours. One comment struck me towards the end. The closest guy said he had never done any fishing except carping. That is typical of modern carpers and worries me. Carp fishing should be pinnacle of carp fishing and the young kids of today that go straight into it are missing out on SO MUCH ! Great listen though.

Why do you act like it takes skill? I had no idea what i was doing, never float fished, never held a pole, and unoffically entered as a joke, but partly to prove a point. I came 2nd.
