  • Frank shares his journey from aneurysm diagnosis just over 3 years ago to his subsequent open heart surgery a month later and all his experiences with healing both mentally and physically from the experience. He shares his expertise in kinesiology to try and help us find the right level of exercise moving forward.

    Thanks for your story. I found the time around diagnosis ( 2 years ago) a very lonely time. I'm really glad groups exist now, they've given me comfort and hope.

    You are so right about family and friends. After my aortic dissection in July 2017 my boss kept calling to find out when I'd be back to work...My family kept telling me, "You're fine..they fixed the aorta so get on with life." No one knew the anxiety I had. I was waiting for the ripping excruciating pain to hit me again. Thank you for sharing your experience. You are a survivor!!!

      I feel this, many times I’ve had to explain that my aneurysm was replaced but the rest of my aorta is still dissected and most of the time they don’t understand what I’m telling them. I still get people asking about my heart or referring to my heart attack. I don’t get too frustrated over it but it does feel lonely.
