    Right, 2 notes I'm gonna put in here about the Allergy things...
    1. Jon probably had a lactose loving bacteria that was making him sick. I once had the same thing and couldn't have dairy for a month because of that. Without the lactose, the bacteria couldn't survive as well, so it died off.
    2. My dad developed an allergy to shrimp as a kid after eating them a lot. He then stopped eating shrimp for 20+ years and now he can eat shrimp again no problem.

    • @jasonkeith2832
      @jasonkeith2832 Před 4 lety +10

      Another allergy note: if you develop an allergy to fish, it might be a particular fish or additive that was put into the diet of farm-raised fish, and not the fish itself. Of course, definitely get any allergies checked by a qualified doctor before eating anything that could possibly give you anaphylaxis.

    • @VitaEmerald324
      @VitaEmerald324 Před 4 lety +4

      you know that probably explains why I was eventually able to get over my own milk allergies (it wasn't lactose but apparently casein, the milk protein, which was causing the problem)

    I have to disagree with Stephen about his stance on hash browns: a good batch of hash browns/french fries ought to taste great even without condiments/toppings beyond what the recipe calls for. If you need to add something like ketchup to make it taste good, you may as well just eat the ketchup if you’re looking for flavor. Condiments/toppings should serve to enhance. It shouldn’t be a matter of make or break.

    • @StarGazer2918

      I've never had hash browns, but a relatively big amount of French fries I've had tasted awful to me without sauce. However, this is almost always due to some weird after taste some French fries have that can be drowned out by a bit of any condiment.

    • @Rexaura888
      @Rexaura888 Před 4 lety +5

      Thomas Joosten Might have something to do with the oils they’re cooked in? I know McDonald’s fries have this kind of after taste that Burger King fries don’t have, and McDonald’s fries are more likely to be limp/soggy when served. How greasy are these fries you normally get?

    • @Thoomas2001

      @@Rexaura888 McDonald's (around here at least) actually has some of the best fries I've ever had and they don't have that after taste. The French fries that do usually don't feel that greasy. I guess the after taste is just... really weird-tasting potatoes or something.

Seriously, I don't know how many exactly there are in that stretch of highway, but it's got to be AT LEAST three if not closer to five, and that's excluding all the smaller adult shops that don't have billboards all over the highway.

    So, from what I gather:
    - Tom's allergies were compromising him and was in the potential area of mortality.
    - Jon DESPISES hash browns. And him being offered something over and over made it worse.
    - Stephen KNOWS a lot of dangerous situations where he lives and is acknowledgeable about what to do about them (Kind of relatable since I live in a rather so-so dangerous city, his misadventures hit home).
    - Jerod is pretty much The Kid from I Wanna Be The Guy with his allergy to apples. Didn't expect that one.
    Besides other topics, this episode was pretty much going about death or something close to it. What a progress from episode 1 to this one.
    I can't wait for the next episode. I have been loving the podcast with how the guys share experiences that every often that not can be quite relatable.

    I used to think I had an allergy to muskmelons, because the corners of my mouth would often get bloody and rashy from eating them. However, it was more than likely just the peel of the melon drilling into my skin further than I felt. Really odd.

    Late comment but this is the first time I'm seeing this. When I was a baby I was allergic to applesauce and have since grown out of it. As I got older I became lactose intolerant (we're pretty sure anyway) and I developed an allergy to cinnamon, it constantly makes me sneeze whenever I smell it.

      Also the Denny's I've been too weren't good. Nine times out of ten we never got service and one time our waitress was basically flirting with one of the other customers instead of giving us service.

    My cat likes it when I take baths. Mainly because he knows he can paw at my hand in the water until I take it OUT of the water and give him wet pets. I guess because the water is warm, he thinks it's like being given a kitty bath or something.

    as the owner of a sphynx cat, first of all they DO look like raw chickens, and you have to bathe them, but also, be ready to do lots of laundry, because the buggers sweat A LOT and you'll end up with nasty brown patches on EVERYTHING they've laid on.
