I watch this race several time over, what a ride? He made a bold move and made a very good turn, the late Chris Armond would have called it “ a copy book turn”
Great commentary and race preview. Bongo also won a Derby in Trinidad with a 90-1 shot Bears and Bull. He will continue to ride at Gulfstream and Caymanas depending on when and where he can.

In my over 60yrs of watching the Jamaica Derby, l don't recall a unfit or unsound horse winning the derby.

Just wondering how good a group 1 that is! Winner looked like a hunter chaser closing the gap relentlessly, jockey got it right but that could so easily have gone pear shaped. I don’t know much about Jamaican horse racing but comparing them to European racing is probably impossible. Anyone know the rating of the winner? From a racing perspective and if I had to guess I would say 85+ but definitely less than 100. Good race though, several getting it totally wrong as they went too hard too soon. Nice win though i suspect it is as far as he ideally wants. Well done to connections
Especially the horse that ran second him too early is wasn't nominated to ride it though the jockey that was nominated to ride had a spill in the second race
@@machodon8769 ha ok that makes sense. Its very difficult to judge group races in other countries unless there is a specific form line. Pity the second had a jockey change, that might have cost him.
