Hi Lisa!! The Lost Shoes part is because (in the movies at least) people would take her shoes and hide them and she would find them in funny places :) So happy you love them!!! I love seeing ALL your socks and now the chickens!! OMGosh!! Adorable!!
So glad I had your podcast to help me through this Monday from hell (sorry if I offended anyone but there is no other word to describe today). Little chickens are adorable ❤
I hope everyone's doing better this week! My heart goes out to you after hearing about your husband being sick like that. I immediately go into panic mode, too. Even though it wasn't a virus, it's still horrendous and hits all of my anxieties. I hope he's feeling better and that you can chill a little, too. You deserve some new yarn after all that!
Hi Lisa! Thank you for sharing video of your snow! We didn’t get any here in NC this year. I really like your little chickens - another reason for me to learn crochet! I hope this week is better for you..
We had bad weather including wind, snow, rain and freezing weather. Lost power at least 3 times. Was not fun. I read about the Dr Who scarf several years ago. It changed because there was only one scarf, and it would get damaged from use. They had to make a new one because no one kept track of what it looked like and I believe the costume staff changed.
Hi from The Netherlands, across the ocean. I was surprised to hear that people have problems with the emotional crocheted chicken. As long as I keep counting and counting, I found no problem with the pattern at all. I made one for my daughter, but it's a pretty addictive project, more chickens will follow😅.
Oh the little chickens are so cute! Well done to your daughter! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻this week is better, especially your husband’s health. I have knit a few pairs of scrappy socks with Opal minis, fun to knit, and to look at, but I just don’t reach for them, maybe I should wash them a bunch and see if they soften. Happy Knitting 🧶
I feel ya in the anxiety about crowds for the eclipse. I am driving south for it, after seeing the one 4 yrs ago and finding it amazing. That was at park on Missouri River. I suggest stayung outbof the city if possible, bring a picnic ahead of time and buy special glasses ahead of time. If your family enjoys playing cards or games, this is a fun time waiting for it. It is amazing, if you can leave early, get settled and then enjoy the wait which is boring for some. We are working around some anxiety too in order to make it happen for my family. I am looking forward to the car knitting!
Your DK weight blanket it growing so fast! You make me want to cast one on but I have way too many blankets on the needles. I love using ever last bit of a fingering weight skein for a Musselburgh hat. It's going to look really good in your Eras yarn.
Good morning Michigan. Hey Lisa. Started my first ever granny stripe fingering blanket. I was high ly inspired by my watching your progress. Had to rip back to the cast on part after I got a few rows in. The whole hem was curving and it arched. Looked up some other podcasts and the said that if you cast on too loosely the blanket hem will wave and a bit too tight it will curve bend and arch. So another person said that after the 302 chain is to knit every row across and then start the 3dc, skip 2 etc. I did that and it gave the hem a lot of stability and now the blanket is as nice and flat. I have seen and heard of this blanket so many times and you have inspired me to start one. In conclusion, to describe the crochet stitching because the yarn is so fine with the D hook, it has a very intricate feel like I'm making a dainty delicate doily or something. Can't really speed up the work. I get caught up in the yarn. Nice and easy with it. And I absolutely enjoy it. So fun and relaxing.
I had problems with vertigo several years ago, and my MIL (who is a nurse) told me to take something like Sudafed. I was skeptical but it worked! Now, I keep Sudafed on hand at all times, and when I feel like the vertigo is starting again, I take some.
I hope you have a better week! There really is no comparison between a 90% eclipse and totality. Obviously you have to take care of yourself and it’s not worth a panic attack, but I do hope you can find a way to comfortably go
❤morning lisa!!!!🎉 Hope this week is alot better!!! I got alot of knitting done in a cowl i am finishing !!! Love ur chickens snd ur daughter's 🐣 chick!!!! Great socks!!!i am loving dk socks right now!!!!❤ Hope wll ur sno is melting !!!!saw the oic of ur backyard on Instagram!!!!!😢 Ours is slowly melting but cold snd windy today!!!brrr! Sorry sbout ur husband getting sick!!!hope he doesnt have this again!!!! Takecare!!! Elaine 🏠💕
Hi Lisa! I love green and enjoyed seeing your green West (Stephen?) shawl last week for the first time and absolutely adore your green stripey socks!! Love them! My hubby had a season of serious vertigo-look up maniere’s disease (spelling?) The ENT he went to tested him for that which he didn’t have, but all of this symptoms lined up with maniere’s. Anyway, he was about like your husband-debilitating dizziness, nausea/vomiting and unable to drive or function. He would sleep for 6-12 hours straight and wake up better. He also cut back on his sodium and caffeine which helped. Thankfully, he hasn’t had an episode in many years. But I’m not gonna lie, it was rough to go through that. It was scary and I felt so helpless. I hope your husbands medications continue to help keep it all at bay and he bounces back soon! Thank you for your show and have an awesome weekend! 😊
We drove for KY on Friday after my littlest got snow released an hour early *eyeroll* it should have been a snow day. The roads in our area were terrible. But 20 minutes into our drive once we got into and south of Detroit, the roads were great. Have you considered putting a piece of cardboard or something on the bottom of the cube to keep your shawls from getting snagged? Love the idea of a scrappy sock KAL. If you held a strand of dove heather throughout, you could just keep the dove heather attached for a whole row and not have to weave in that end. You would just use the last dove heather loop of the previous square as the fist loop of the next square.
Love that cardigan! I get vertigo sometimes with my allergies. I'm in Arizona, so this time of year, I explain any and all weird ailments that pop up on allergies and sinus stuff. Sometimes my teeth feel like they're going to fall out. The vertigo. Headaches. Earaches. And this is me USING medicine. So yeah, a little swelling in the head just causes a cascade of symptoms - but in my case it's less stressful now that I understand that this is just a seasonal and temporary issue. Hope your husband is similar and he can simply chalk it up to the weather.
I’m currently working on a pair of Heel Toe Do Si Dos by the Crazy Sock Lady. The Greeny Striped socks go well with your Penguano! You should always wear them together once your socks are finished. 💚
Your mini chickens are SO cute!! I am with you on eclipse day. We live in a full totality region - lots of special events planned, anticipating a LOT of people being in the area. I plan to “shelter in place”. 😂
Love your chicken family. They are adorable!! I have similar vertigo issues. Changing seasons can be a challenge. But for me…reducing my salt intake and keeping Dramamine handy…has made things more bearable. I also do have an ear/nose/throat doctor. If this keeps up..I do recommend finding one. Have a better week!!
HA! I need to try chasing my family off by playing the Taylor Swift concert. Brilliant idea! I think I like those crochet chickens better than the knitted ones. They are just too cute!
Looks like you're having a flocking good time with your chickens. Haha, and no coop to clean! I'm having fun with your videos. Good job, and thanks for being with me over breakfast.
We left Michigan Friday for spring break and drove through a blizzard to get down to South Carolina. It’s colder here too but somehow 45 degrees feels much better by the ocean 😂
You know what? If you don't trust yourself to drive, that's OK. And spring break is the toughest week because you don't know what the weather is going to do and what will be going on. I overslept for work today, but it was a beautiful day - in the high 60s - so my dog and I sat on the porch after work and watched the sunset. It was beautiful. I left my phone inside so I had no electronic distractions. While watching your podcast, I heard a ruckus in the kitchen. To clarify, I live on a farm and sometimes get mice in my home. Sure enough, there was a mouse. (Did you hear me ask you to wait a minute while I see what the situation is?) Anyways, set a trap with Nutella and I already caught the little begger. I heard the trap go off shortly before your podcast ended. If you need somewhere to send your odds and ends, I'd be glad to take some! I'm always looking for some miniskeins to make an advent calendar for my daughter. I think I'm going to try my hand at dyeing one for her this year. I live near Springfield OH and we have a lot of beautiful public murals. I want to take some pics and make her an advent based on those pics.
Yes, there is a scene where she and Harry are walking together st night and he rescues her shoes which are hanging from above. Made me feel bad for her character, as this was bullying.
I have had vertigo episodes since 1992. They are better if I manage any signs of congestion. Now, as long as I keep aware, take allergy medication and a non-drowsy decongestant all is good. Vertigo is not life-threatening just annoying as all get out.
For 2025 definitely yes on the year long scrappy socks KAL. I can be ready by then 🤣
What a week! Glad everyone survived. Good luck with spring break week. 😊 Eager to hear about it. 😂
You could do a sweet shop blanket with all your dove Heather! 😊

Thanks! It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movies. 😆 Your yarn is absolutely the best! 💚

Love the tiny chickens❤ Vertigo issues here too...ugh. dramamine helps me some.
Hello Lisa, from Swansea, Illinois.
I couldn’t resist the Freckled Whimsy Halloween club either! (I also get her christmassy one….omg….im addicted 😂)
We had bad weather including wind, snow, rain and freezing weather. Lost power at least 3 times. Was not fun. I read about the Dr Who scarf several years ago. My favorite socks to wear are my scrappy socks!
Love the little chickens! I caved and ordered Freckled Whimsy’s Halloween club also.
The chicks are adorable💕💕💕

Hi Lisa. I don’t remember which movie, but Luna told Harry that some kids were playing pranks on her and hid her shoes. I love your striped socks. 😊
