Be God in the shape of a girl is a specific reference which she explained. It's easy to make the jump from the reference to telling us to freely express our own divinity. She said she was in an airport waiting out a delayed flight with many other people. Everyone was tired and not very happy. There was a family there with a 3 year old girl. The little girl was cheerful and going around talking to many people and cheering everyone up.

Wonderful reaction! That concert in a forest was a perfect venue for her! Her band was perfection, and the production values were so high for a concert in such a uniquely open yet shrouded space!

I am so glad you finally arrived also to this masterpiece. Existential, outerworldly.... Religious in the best sense of the word. The two final lines "We are the breath..." really takes everyone hearing them. Thank you!!!

God shaped girl is present and involved with people, not a distant untouchable god. Be-in and connected to others with love and without judgment!

What a treat! You've reacted to two of my favorite songs today! I love it when you get philosophical, analyzing the lyrics. Aurora has said she would have preferred a god we could touch or perceive with our senses. She's also connected god's embodiment as a small girl to the joy and light that sometime fill people when they encounter small children. As for "Infection of a different kind", they may refer to the harm we cause the planet, or the pain we inflict upon each other. In "A Different Kind of Human" the aliens say to the human whose nature is pure: "You are infected...We've got to get you out of here". BTW, both songs are on track 8 on their respective albums, where Aurora chooses to put songs which are of special importance to her.

Be God in the shape of a girl...to me this is an exhortation to everyone to model good and godly behavior, toward each other, toward the planet, toward the universe. And I agree with you, there's much more hope than despair in this song. I love this song!

Nice reaction, this song definitively has a lot of food for thought. I interpret “Be God in the shape of a girl” as meaning live life as if you are God.
For a next Aurora reaction I recommend the follow up song to this one: A Different Kind of Human live at Christines Radiofestival.

One cannot listen to AURORAs songs without being infected and affected by them.
I'd state if the lyrics don't get to you.... hmmmm.... do you have a pulse, are you even human? O_o :P
You're spot on... Food for thoughts and the soul and the heart as well.
    Thnx!

to get a bit more insight to the line "be God in the shape of a girl" it is helpful to include the next lyric as well, "who walks this world" that God is in us all. And to really understand the world God would have to experience this world as we all do, but maybe especially as someone disenfranchised and often powerless, a young girl. To really se the failings of the world to know how to fix it.
At least that is some of my conjecture, I've noticed myself often in Aurora's songs a tendency to take each line of a song and separate it out from the rest when analysing, i do it too. But i find that is a disservice to her song writing. I think its because she often delivers the lines to poignantly, and with amazing dramatic pauses we hear the one line and note it, then when the next one comes we take it as a separate statement and not part of a whole.
Anyway great reaction, and also as you said it was only your fist listen and we cant expect you to instantly be all knowing. Could really see the song affecting you, as it does me. I get the chills at the exact same spot as you (4:05) every time.

Hey Mace, I knew you would like this. Its one if my favorite songs and performances. Btw. I dont think you have reacted to Aurora’s full online streamed concert with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (one of the oldest orchestras in the world, dated back to 1765) a few weeks ago. You have done soulless creatures but not the whole thing. You should really react to that.

Western civilizations' relationship with creation/the world is going through a shift where casting concepts in different forms make more and more sense for some simple and complex reasons. To relate to creation as "She" is a option that speaks to these reasons, is it surprising then to hear with attractiveness of "a god in the shape of a girl"...?
