Blended were worried about their Anhydrous Ammonia. Basically fertilizer, its what the IRA used to use mixed with derv. They were silly to come and give you all the information you never asked for - they need retraining and fast

Hi DJ. My father in-law is a FAIR-TRADE coffee grower in Tanzania and is dirt POOR. Even when I met a FAIR-TRADE buyer they would only say that the grower gets very LITTLE. I think it's a con. I think a farmer getting paid FAIR-TRADE should be getting a minimum wage for the country the coffee is going to. My father in-law can not even afford a bicycle. HOW IS THAT FAIR-TRADE? SEE IF YOU CAN GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER TO HOW MUCH THE FARMER GETS FOR FAIR-TRADE.
You answered your own question. The theory is, where the coffee originally comes from, they give them a fair price for the locality they are in. Not the end price to the consumer. If they did that, they wouldn't do it, no profits in doing that. Same as anything in the business world.

However, if not handled properly NH3 can be dangerous. Anhydrous means “without water”. It is also one of the main ingredients in home made bombs.
When I worked for ANC/FedEx One of my runs were on a number of industrial estates and there was a coffee roaster unit. Loved going there just to smell the coffee.

Fairtrade has been in the news before in regards to it not actually helping farmers grow coffee for a fair price (which was apparently the reason for its existence). Farmers in countries that grow coffee have said that it benefits western business more than the farmers it was meant to help.. food for thought..

Co operative deals with fairtrade products coffee , chocolate 🍫, its about giving the workers involved in harvesting the product a fair wage and good working conditions , treating them fairly , making sure they don't employ children to do the work cheaply .

Fair trade to me is buying from the farmers and giving them a good price for their products unlike the big buyers who rip them off
To me it means more expensive, I suspect I'm not alone.
