    Ebonyi and Abakiliki, the capital, needs am economic trigger. They have a rice economy that can be enhanced by more private sector investments. More can be done with rice besides milling and flour. In the U.S. rice milk is popular, as well as snacks. In the area of tourism, Ebonyi is known for pottery. I don't know if the natives still engage in that industry, but it has great potential if properly harnessed. Finally, Ebonyi can invest heavily in polytechnics and vocational schools. There is a huge market for skills in Nigeria. The food processing and packaging as well as food science could be a start. It will be a grooming ground for entrepreneurship.

      Dear Chukwuma, please I would like to know the meaning of the word "Onicha". If you don't know it, could you ask an elder from your hometown. I also would like to know if people from your LGA are in any way connected to Onitsha people or origin.
      Cheers

    • @chukwumajohnson01
      @chukwumajohnson01 Před 3 lety

      Good afternoon, to be honest I don't know what the word "Onicha" means in Igbo language but I will do a thorough research. About whether Onicha L. G. A of Ebonyi is related to Onitsha in Anambra the answer is yes, because our ancestors from Onicha Ebonyi who migrated from Agbor in Delta state lived centuries in Onitsha, Anambra state, inter-mingled, inter-married and shared ancestral roots with Onitsha people in Anambra. However, during the Nigerian/Biafra civil war many of our great grandparents migrated from Onitsha to the present day Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State. My community in that Onicha local government area of Ebonyi is
      kown as Agbabor-Isu which coined its name from Agbor in present day Delta Igbo or Delta state. This story was told to my father by of the Descendants of those who migrated from Agbor to Onitsha then from Onitsha to present day Onicha local government area of Ebonyi and my father passed it down to me which I will carefully pass down to my unborn children . There is a community also known as Onicha Igboeze in the main Onicha local government area. So, Igbos intertwine. It is good for one to know his root. I hope that helps you to know about Onicha local government area of Ebonyi thank you!.

    I just left a message for a friend to look into it. You will hear back from me. If I can get you something, I will be thrilled. Maybe I can entice you to do a vlog on pottery making in Afikpo. You will be shocked how many people would be interested. Afikpo in Ebonyi was the center of Ibo pottery making and sales, from ancient times up till the early seventies. The clay pots were used to keep drinking water because they kept it cool. They were used for other foods and beverages. The pots are also used for music. The Ibo traditional bass is called Udu. I plan to bring it to the U.S. for Gospel. It is one of the instruments used by the Lagos City Chorale. They also use the Yoruba talking drum. Don't mind me though, whatever I do will have no strings attached. It will be to the glory of God.

    Here are some specific suggestions. You may already be doing these, so ignore anything that's redundant.
    1. Have a theme - For ex. A trip to Abakiliki to view new infrastructure developments; or to see tourism potential; or to explore the housing market.
    2. Script your video. Of course this requires a lot of work, because you have to know where you will be visiting. A good place to get valuable information is in a local university. By scripting your tour, you can prepare your comments. Find the appropriate words that are related to your theme. Don't forget your Vlog is being viewed globally.
    3. Get a Drone. It's worth the investment. Particularly, it helps you get, what in film, is called an establishing shot.
    There's more...
    Cheers!
