My husband and I moved to Columbia, SC a week after we got married a year and half ago, bought a big 5bedroom house. We are living very comfortably and there is a lot of investment opportunity here. I love it here. It is not country side and has a city vibe without the hectic life.
I moved from St Petersburg FL, to NC & Raleigh Durham next door. 2800 ft home on 2 acres $125K ❤️
Been in Durham for 31 years!! I LOVE the Triangle, the vibe, Raleigh, Research Triangle Park, Cary, Chapel Hill...opportunity is here! Greensboro is 45 min, Charlotte 2 hours, Mountains 2 hrs, NC coastal beaches under 2hrs, Myrtle Beach 3.5 hrs and Virginia Beach 3 hours!!
@@AB_1211 Oh yes, absolutely! So glad I made the change!
Columbia, SC is cool but, Greenville, SC is definitely a vibe! Greenville, SC is 1.5 hrs from Charlotte and 2.5 hrs from Atlanta.
All of the options presented in the video are great!!!
Girl!!! Greenville is where it’s at!! I would love to move there!
Ppl who live in Greenville love coming on something about Columbia to tell us something about Greenville!! Sounding like a whole advertisement 😂
I have fam out in Greenville and was there for a month last summer… love the downtown by the water so cute!
Please stop advertising. We don't need more people here
No no no Greenville is full
I've lived in South Carolina all my life and I love it. Two hours from the beach, one hour from the mountains. Nothing like southern hospitality too
I love South Carolina 🧡🧡🧡
I have been telling everyone the same thing about Columbia, SC for years. I graduated from the University of South back 2005. I left SC and lived all the big cities for the you just named, but nothing compares to the cost of living, the affordable housing and it only has traffic during the morning and afternoon rush hours. I moved back to Columbia 2010. Great place if ur single or married because you can afford to whatever you like
I'm from Charleston SC. I currently live in orangeburg sc. My current job is in Columbia. I recommend the Lexington area for sure!
Lexington is busting at the seams, that place is growing so fast.
South Carolina has some of the best black talent. Low key understated
Very underrated
What about white talent or Asian talent or Hispanic talent?
I recently moved back to Columbia, SC after living in the upstate of SC for 7 years because I wanted to be closer to family. I'm happy to be back, reconnect, and serve my community more.
Yeah family is the most important I really enjoy spending time with family! I am always planning game night so I can bring everyone together! My family warms my heart!
@@rebeccafields3730 I love that game night. Family makes life worth living. Close relationships are the best way to guarantee you live a good life!
@Taylor Leaphart when I plan a game night I be excited all week about it
@@rebeccafields3730 we have special time every night with our little ones and they love to play board games. It's a great way to connect and over the years see how their brains grow, strategies change, and they learn how to be good sports about losing and winning.
✊🏾My family and I just moved back to Charlotte NC from Orlando, raised in Jacksonville. We moved here the first time August 2015, started our family here & lives here for 6yrs before we moved to Orlando. Expenses was too much in FL, Charlotte felt like home for us & loved it here. We were planning to move back but not this soon. I still work for my company in FL, they allowed me to move back & remotely & understood the financial situation.
Yea Charlotte is Nice
Must be a great company to work for. Most great companies are in the south.
I'm from Charlotte. That city is priced out especially for black families where do you live cheap in Charlotte, that's a joke. Atl and South Carolina is much cheaper to live in. Charlotte is Lilly white, and priced out.
Southern Born And RAISED!!! Wouldn't live ANYWHERE but here in Columbia SC!!!! Country Folk still love and respect each other! Love and Respect has no color! GET IN WHERE WE FIT IN!! COLUMBIA SC ❤
I moved from ATL to SC and work in NC due to work transfer. This was the best move for my family!!! I’m closer to CLT and the value of my house has already doubled!!!
I currently live in Columbia, SC. I love it. It's southern yet urban. I love the quietness of my neighborhood.
That's where your wife is waiting for you South Carolina Go with God💞
Even across the pond. Don't be afraid. The world is developing. The Gambia is my getaway escape from the US.
I've moved to South Carolina from NYC. Best choice ever!
Columbia and Charlotte are 1.5 hours away but still feasible! I moved to Charlotte from Greenville, SC but considering moving back south. Housing market is CRAZY here
Crazy as in crazy expensive?
@@Bubbles-qh7ez crazy expensive…compared to SC prices. You can’t get a decent home in Charlotte for less than 300k (unless it’s an old home that needs lots of work or it’s small really small)
So true I'm from Charlotte, and moved to Greenville I hate Charlotte over-priced whole darn city regentrified. I love Greenville sc
AO when you get married and have kids, I would advise you to go back to your home town where your parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews are. There’s a saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ is true. You’ll also have more date nights and love making nights with your wife, as you’ll have your parents to babysit your kids some nights, give you and your wife rest and intimacy. Also, your kids would have local cousins to play with regularly. When you have kids, moving closer to family, if possible, is a no brainer.
Some of us don't realize how important those things are until you no longer have it. I love the country people here in the south. I wish I had raised my children around family.
You just made me think about something. I’m from Florida my family is here and my son dad is here along with his family. I been feeling stagnant in Miami for awhile and been looking to move up north. Just me and my son. But your comment made me realize it does take a village. Maybe I should relocate to just a different city instead of the whole state, at least my son will have his family nearby.
@@CookWithStephh Yeah I’ve had experience of both situations and when it’s small kids, elementary age and younger, moving closer to family is worth it.
It’s definitely a very wise move. I’ve been considering moving back to GA but NC &SC have both been on my radar! Especially wanting to purchase another home. I live in Austin now and for me, I’m not a big fan.
Same, I just moved to Austin in July
Georgia
Do not move here ( S.C.)
Please look at the school stats, politicians ( Lindsay Graham)
I drove to Columbia, SC from Atlanta to visit my family and I loved it. The traffic was wonderful, it was quiet and I'm definitely open to moving there.
DMV native all my life! Anthony is right, these houses are extremely close. I’ve been considering moving South due to the houses being so close together for a price of 1.5 million here in the DMV. It’s insane! But on the UP SIDE for many years the DMV has been recognized to have the most successful black communities. Besides the DMV where else is the best location for successful Black communities?
I moved here to the DMV in 09 and I love it. It was the first time I saw people who look like me who are super successful
Definitely moving back to the DMV from Atlanta!! The south is cool but systems wise it’s not touching that area! Education, hospitals, wealth….
@@larissavon facts
Word! For real… the DMV is the safest place for black professionals
@@larissavon I've heard this about Atlanta multiple times. I thought by now there would have been some changes. So many people moved there from the DMV. I guess in the end the DMV is still the best area. C'mon back home Sis.
SC is getting over populated as we speak. Everyone is wanting to move here. I seen in a update newsfeed that the state of SC was charging $250 new resident fee to all residents moving here which to me isn't really much but they are starting for to charge for you to come here. I have been in SC for 5 years now. I moved from NC from my hometown, although it has its ups and downs, I still miss home. I am in Greenville SC and although I do like it here I'm kind of ready for a different era. But I am trying to hang on here. Almost everyone I meet here is from somewhere else believe it or not. But wherever you are make it work for you. I highly recommend NC and SC. ❤️
Texas is a great place to raise a family. Their schools are the top 5 in the USA. You need to consider Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Princeton just the Collin county area. Very lovely place to live.
I’ve been telling a lot of people this. Most people go straight to Houston or Austin.
Bro it's just way too HOT there.. Columbia too..
I'm in SC now and the margin for growth is huge. Make the move to SC like you I've lived in the dvm area for years don't miss it all only the fresh seafood. lol But business-wise and family wise I would definitely do SC if I were you especially if you are looking where you are going to start a family. Having your family nearby helps A LOT when you have kids.
Yeah here in NVa it’s hella pricey no matter what your salary is so as much as I love it here I will not be here long
I'm from Florence SC, and haven't left the city yet..but I've been thinking about Columbia or Charleston as places i would love to retire to when I get older.
I just moved back home to Columbia from Charlotte? Friendly people and there is nothing like space and peace!
Love Columbia! Proud to be from the USC! I lived in NY State and moved back to SC to go to college. I met a lot of New Yorkers who decide to make the move for school. After school I met someone who moved to SC from San Jose CA. He was floored that he was able to buy the same size home he had in CA for incredibly less.
I feel you........Peace is Priceless!!
Yes, Austin has a solid job market BUT there is a lack of culture which makes it very difficult to find community out there. You’ll solely just be working to live with no solid social or community circles that WE can benefit from.
I love it!! I did not know you were from Columbia. We would love to have you back!! Hometown proud!!!
Columbia, SC is NOT 40-45 minutes from Charlotte. It’s actually about 1.5hrs. Big difference!😂
Columbia, SC resident here! ❤❤
A lot of people are moving to South Carolina, specifically in Colombia, South Carolina. Colombia, SC is a vibe and affordable to live.
I am from Charlotte, NC but I live in Chesapeake, VA after retiring from the U.S. Navy. I have been in the Hampton Roads for over 35 years. I am planning on moving back to Rock Hill SC because I am a 100% disable Veteran and I just found out that the state of SC don’t tax your Military retirement , you don’t have to pay property taxes on your home or 2 vehicles! So I will definitely be moving somewhere in South Carolina!!!
Just moved back hm with my parents temporarily in rural southcentral va after 25 years on my own with my teenager son..they are happy but it can be hard after being gone for a while. But I have several reasons why I did this for one..quicker to save money and get out of debt..at the same time I rather give money my parents..I work remote but now I'm only an hour away from my job in Raleigh NC.trying to eventually move into NC
Columbia native here. Love it, but if you want to make decent money, most likely you'll need to find work outside the city. Not many jobs here that pay well unless you're in the good-ole-boy system.
I live in Columbia SC and I'm missing something 😅. The cost of living is going up so fast it's crazy. It's a big college town and the student housing is taking over down town. Northeast is busting over.
LMBO, I SURE DO WANT SOME SPACE FOR REAL, I DON'T WANT NO ONE IN MY BUSINESS 😊🙏🏾. May look into South Carolina. 💕
Just moved here from PA absolutely love it here everything you said was 100percent correct houses are cheap and huge for 350k you can live like a king and the people are awesome....so do it come back to Columbia SC..
Come on home, AO! We will welcome you right on back!
I live in the DMV area, it’s hella expensive! I feel you we will be looking into Columbia for sure!
I lived in San Antonio, TX and presently live near Columbia, SC but I think I would choose Jacksonville, FL!
I miss converse TX
Eyoooo! Love Columbia my family lives here. It’s an hour (1 hour) to Charlotte though. Also I landed in Fort Mill l (15 min from Charlotte) because Columbia is stilllllll… behind the times I’ll say. I grew up there so I can say it 😉
Charleston, SC is even better. Paradise!
💯
I've been looking at Charleston lately. I've fallen in love with Mt. Pleasant (via Airbnb visiting the AAIM), but looking to explore more to get to know the area.
Columbia to charlotte driving is a lil more than 45 min more like hour and a half.
Stop playing...!!!! I'm loving it here in Cola 💯😘
I FEEL YOU in SC now with so much breathing space. They don't know what we do down here and we don't know what they do up there. Lol
Truth! Lived in Columbia for 10 yrs. I really think you should make the move property value increases nicely as well!
So true!!! Am getting up there in age so That sounds great. 🤔🤔South Carolina✅
I am a Realtor in Columbia SC and 40% of my clients are moving from out of state. We are 45 minutes from Charlotte, 2 hours from Charleston, 31/2 hours from Jacksonville Fl, Atlanta Ga, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I believe our Real Estate market will continue to move forward in the next economic shift.
Let’s GO!!! Love this. This info is so on time!!
Im looking to move from Los Angeles so im glad to see this video. I was actually looking to move to Austin, but now I might have to keep looking. You are always speaking to me.
Me and wife would love to relocate the south. We presenty live in the northeast right now. Thank you for sharing the TOP cities to move AO.
I'm in Columbia, SC now. I didn't know you were born here. Come on back here so I can get on your show.
I’ve been living in Columbia,SC since 2015 the cost of living is cheap but if you don’t have a Trade,Skill,or degree your going to struggle due to most most jobs they pay decent per hr but you will not get 40+hrs a week and if your not making decent income you will have bad credit and will live paycheck till 2pm. I took a job working on aircraft’s and there starting to cut my hrs so I have multiple streams of income RN. Just make sure you have a good paying job before you move here or you will be in poverty
Come on home! I hope to see you here walking around.
Columbia, SC is great. I considered moving there but went with eastern NC instead to be closer to my parents.
Don’t tell ‘em to move here. Don’t need them crazy ppl moving here.
Exactly!!
Lol I know leave the city in the city
Come on home AO! I moved a hour away from Columbia. Can't wait to meet you. Thanks for all the good info
Charlotte, NC native here. We’re growing faster than we can keep up! People are moving here in the loads from the north and south. I work at Ally bank uptown. Let me know when you get that office space and we can get coffee.
Come on back home son! I moved to Rock Hill, SC from CA/AZ and I love it! Please have some local events, I'll be there. If I knew of some good single women in your age range, I would put them in your line of sight.
Ayyye... That's what resignates when I watch you. I'm 30 mins away but a born South Carolinian.
Austin is beautiful and a cosmopolitan city. I love the city, but the traffic is horrendous. I lived in San Antonio and Houston. SAT is somewhat boring. Houston is a big country town -.so spread out. It takes over an hoir to get to certain areas of the city. Houston's crime rate is getting out of hand. I lived in Texas over 25 years.
After driving through SC going back to Atlanta I just can’t lol. Idk how y’all love the country life it’s way too slow! Granted I don’t know how Columbia is but I can’t imagine it like a city city?
I’m Definitely moving back to the DMV and going to just have to. get my bands up! I was raised there and my upbringing was amazing from the diverse group of friends I had to road trips to New York. I don’t want to raise my kids where there are only black and white Americans. They need to be cultured. I find that the south is not that cultured. I can understand if you are from there, it’s home so that make sense to be near family! The Lord will make Provisions!
Come to the Columbia. I would love to meet you. Single Christian lady here! No kids. 😉
Good for you! As long as God leads you somewhere its gonna be your place. But glad you tried DMV and got the experience.
I’m definitely thinking about Columbia, sc now… this video was basically confirmation for me… southeastern North Carolinian here.. ready to be in closer proximity to larger cities and better demographics
One thing bro, it's been many years since I've been to Columbia and it is a cool place. BUT it is HOT there.. what about Greenville? Also have you thought about Virginia? Like what about Richmond-Henrico or the Hampton Roads area (for affordability)? I also quoted several other places on your Ten Cities video..
I am moving with you.
I just saw a 4bd/2ba for 107k..in SC. Coming from CA, that's a mansion...something to think about..lol
I live in Miami, Florida and I didnt know this about Jacksonville, Florida.Thank you, for this informaton Anthony.!!!!!
Jacksonville merged with the county(Duvall) it is in. The county is about 740 square miles.
I’m not sure if I want to go back to Columbia. I moved to Charlotte NC in 2017 and still live there. Racism in Columbia is a hot mess. Are they still arguing over the confederate flag? Columbia would be nice if they can move beyond the outlandish racism.
Home prices are good but what about taxes and food? Sometimes you look at one thing and not the other.
What are the quality of jobs? The only big companies were the ones you could get a job but the pay for a grown up sucks!!!
I feel you.
Yea because NC is definitely not cheap at all 😮
Houston, Austin Texas, are my choices...
Thanks a lot,now the city is going to be flooded with people from out-of-state driving up the cost of housing .
Exactly, I wish people would just move in silence. He didn't need to announce this.
South Carolina is still in the glory days Jim Crow with a Jim Crow governor!
Texas isn't any better! San Antonio/Austin area isn't as progressive as outsiders think! Whites & Hispanics are both racist towards Blacks here.
Also, Texas still has "sundown towns"!!
Please no we are FULL here in Houston! Kindly. It now takes about an hour just to get anywhere. Traffic is terrible and home prices for a nice neighborhood hit 1 million. Our rent prices looks like New York now. By the way thanks for the video I’m actually looking into property elsewhere
Yes, talk about Columbia. Military family and has decided to retire here. ❤❤❤
SC is great. I’m in GA now. I wanna move there.
I love 45 minutes from Columbia, SC.
I’m so ready to get back to Charlotte!!!!!!
I just moved to Charlotte in a townhome from Columbia where I had a home with a front/back and side yards. The lack of space or privacy from my neighbors is crazy to me. To have to be ‘quiet’ in my own home 😒 nah and it’s more expensive too. Once my lease is up I definitely would like to drive to Charlotte and atl vs live in those cities
Thank you for this valuable tips Great information to think about as I relocate
Glad it was helpful!
I’m from nyc thinking about moving down to Florida thank God I have a job where I can work almost in any state.. to cold and expensive up here !
If you don't mind me asking, Do you know of some great remote jobs? I live in NY state and it's hard to find a decent legit wah job.
@@cynthiaspencer9994 hmmm I don’t know how remote works out of NY. I feel majority of people back in office . I work in a hospital. Maybe you can see if hospitals will let you work remote , maybe Disney world
@The Truth thanks I'm always curious what companies offer remote work.
Florida is way too expensive now. Many New Yorkers are moving down here.
Do Not Move to South Florida! I’m from Queens NY and I currently live 30 minutes North of Miami. It’s not what you expect it to be. It’s a nice vacation spot, but it’s corny to live. People drive crazy, restaurants taste to price ratio is way off, and the people are different/weird. Check out St.Petersburg FL, you might like it.
Columbia SC THE 803
No state tax 🤨🤔...they get you on the back end with taxes, especially property taxes 🤨☹️. Do your research... property tax for $6000 a year compared to Texas $20,000 + 🤷...think about it
I believe Columbia SC takes more than 40 minutes to Charlotte NC
Whoop whoop my hometown
Happy New Year Anthony my family from there too looking to retire there.
I’m in the metro of Austin. Austin is definitely a more white city,]. It’s safer overall. I think making $70-75k yr will only break even, I make $120-150k as a single person and definitely living really well …homes in Austin it’s self is 600-700k, the metro areas is the 360k-400k starting for decent homes that’s 30-40 min away from down town
Man, Columbia that's my hometown! I've lived in Tampa Bay Florida most of my life, in Japan for 6 years and Colombia (South America) on and off since 2014 for a few weeks to a month a year. I've been back last year to Columbia more times than I've been back in the last 12 years all due to family being sick and deaths in the family. Until late 2015, my family went back 5 generations. 🙏🏿
Man, I have felt it and thought about it, the only thing is I'm a musician/entertainer, worked as such at Disney until the pandemic, now I mostly play off Broadway theater shows in Orlando and Tampa and play with a few bands for corporate events and concerts playing original music around FL, California, NYC. Those opportunities don't exist in or around Columbia, S.C. The real estate investing side though, yes! That one does. Been planning to move to South America but man, home will always have a pull
South America is almost all Communist, now. I wouldn't want to live there. But, soon, we will be in the same boat, unless all of us get off our butts, and stop it.
I am old, but plan to move one more time, to Southeastern TN. The Freedom state. Constitutional Carry state. No TN sales tax.
Born and raised Columbian here. It's a progressive city that's moving in the right direction. The job market is pretty good and it's money to be made here.1 hr to a major city..1.5hrs from mountains and beaches. Riverwalk areas growing and Lake murray if you into water. Plenty of dining. Retail market is cool but stl lacking in major shopping destinations. Northerners moving here by the flock and we almost full... yall stay away! Lol
Charleston!
Yes I want space being stack on top of each other is not how to live looking to moving back to Columbia houses are way more affordable than in the Military community I currently live at where everything is outrageously priced
I live in Cheraw SC .77 miles from Charlotte NC. I realized I need to move and check it out. I'm a Ballroom dance 👠 teacher that's single and wants to get married.
I'm from Charleston, SC living in the DMV area as well! I also was thinking about going back.

Mrs Kaitlyn has changed my financial status for the best.
All thanks to my aunty who introduced her to me.
Guillaume Kaitlyn is obviously the best
I invested $10,000 and she made profit of $50,000 for me just in 5days.
My plan is to move back to Cola in a few years.
Welcome Home!
Anthony you’re a freak ❤😂
I really want to move there 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤
