I had something similar to this in my old soccer team. I was a defender but our coach told us to do 8 passes before even trying to shoot the ball. It got to the point where the opposing team didn't even bother pressuring us until the 7/8 pass and whenever we had an open spot to score we HAD to pass or he would make us run suicides in the next practice. I'm glad I left and found a much better team.

But the coach got mad at me because he said that âI was a defender and my job is not to attempt shots, my job is to deliver cross passesâ đ€Łđ€Ł

Idk why I love these guys sooo much
Their language their acting, expressions, slangs are top notch
This is literally how things are when you have a bad coach. The "it doesnt matter, you didnt do what i wanted" hits hard....so many times...
surefire sign of the ego maniac. if you win the game you win the game, that's the objective, not making the coach right about everything
Yea I remember in high school, our school won the soccer championship. The coach was so bad but we won in spite of him. Literally his only instruction was to pass it to the wings and then cross or cut inside and shoot. Most our goals were through balls or shots from distance đ€Ł. The assistant coach however knew some important tactics for defensive traps, defensive/offensive plays on set pieces, shifting when the opposition has the ball on one side, setting up triangles so that there are 2 passing options every time, etc...
@@awfan221 triangles for passing options is one of the most basic important things we footballers (soccer players) get taught when we are young for multiple reasons:
1 It makes sure that you understand that you should also be working when your team has the ball but it isn't in your possession.
2 It makes you scan the field more resulting in being able to see more opportunities.
3 You move more so you build more stamina which is important.
4 Team spirit.
5 More passes so you improve on that very essential skill.
In a sport like football the triangle for passing is so important that some even think you should be making diamond shapes because that's a free extra triangle for the cost of just 1 more player which gives more opportunities for moving the ball. This doesn't really translate well to sports like basketball however since it's more based on individual skill because the court and teams are smaller.
If you do something wrong and it works, coach should tell you so you don't try again because it will probably miserably fail if you base your strategy on a wrong basis.
@@SoraDolla Horse shit, look at Steph Curry 3-pointers. It's wrong form and ugly especially when you compare to Klay, however Curry is the best shooter of all times and glad didn't listen to coach instruction

Itâs sad because I had a coach like this. Had a rule we had to have 3 passes minimum before we shoot. Even if you were wide open you had to pass. Teams we played regularly caught on and would literally wait until the 3rd pass to start playing defense. Itâs what made me quit basketball and I was like 11. Unreal how coaches like this still exist.
Edit: I couldâve been older. It was some time in middle school for those so concerned about my age. We were considered a competitive team and often competed in highly competitive tournaments. Weâd get clobbered because of this rule.
This is honestly so dumbđđđđI had a coach who taught us 3-2 zone defense even though almost every team we played had no outside shooting
Our bigs never survived an entire game without getting fouled badly
If you were 11 they were probably just trying to make sure that were wernt "hogging the ball" or making sure people play as a team. Though they probably should have taught you when to ignore the rule lol.
Bro,you were 11 years old. They just wanted to make sure all the kids were involved so parents can keep buying uniforms and paying fees lol.
In those ages that's recommended though...Winning the game IS NOT the focus when we're talking about kids that age. Making sure the technique is good and that everyone's involved and having a good time is SO much more important. This skit is about the point right before college, a completely different focus at that time.
@@ZephrymWOW They would have taught him once they got to the age where winning the game becomes more of a focus. He quit at 11 because he wanted to hog the ball and not play with anyone else. He should probably pick a different sport.
