Size 3 boots!!! Don’t walk in the snow alone, a hunter may track you as a deer. I wonder if John Deer thought of that as a use for plowing snow with the edge tamers
Ok, you get the 'pinned comment' on this video.
I bought the edge tamers this year after watching your first video on them. I have both a gravel driveway, and grass pathways to my goat pens I need to keep clear. Last year I had to rake gravel out of the grass and vice versa. These edge tamers make it so that I won't be doing that as part of spring clean up. Thanks for the discount as well.
I enjoy all your videos, keep them coming.
I got a set for my 1025r to use on our gravel yard I can say they work great even in deep snow And also Thanks for all the great videos Tim and family
Poor Katreil she looked so cold at the end when you were talking with her. Thanks for suffering through the cold for our enjoyment Kateil. Have a good day and God Bless
Wow, she gets ALL the sympathy!!!
LOL
Tim, I love the organization in your garage. The metal shelves and putting attachments on pallets is a great idea! Ill try that! Great videos; keep them coming! 👍👍👍
I need to do a video showing a bit more detail on what we've done organizationally. So much time, so little to do!
So awesome to see you working with your dad like this!
In Alaska we leave the snow on the yard as insulation to help keep water and sewer lines from freezing.
It appears to do exactly what it's meant to do. Good example on the grass.
Can't believe how simple this product is and not thought of until now. I've spent too much time with a scoop and a garden hoe getting the gravel out of the yard when I was a kid and up until this year. Great video.
All I can think about is your neighbors looking out their windows, shaking their heads, and saying to themselves......”What ARE they doing now?” But for the rest of us, that was a great demonstration! Nice job.
That is why we plow their driveways !!!
Wish I could upload a video in the comments of my 4100 and Edge Tamers. The thing a bucket has over a pusher or blade is the ability to pile the snow much higher. I’m very grateful you featured them on your channel. Saved me a lot of money for a blower.
I have a set of Edge Tamers and they work as advertised. The only issue I had and it's not a problem with the Edge Tamers is they raise the bucket up about 1/2" and you leave that much snow behind. I clear my driveway with this setup but I end up compacting that 1/2" with the tractor. What I truly need is your plow. Thanks for the video.
YES ! They work fantastic, and all thanks to you. I bought them after your video picking up leaves, and they have more than paid for themselves. A really great company to do business with too.. I bought a 3 point snowblower used, as extra protection in our harsh Northeast winter, but I barely used it because the bucket with the edge tamers worked so well.. Thanks again guys !
Thanks for the positive review!
Been enjoying my new 1025r even more since finding your great videos and these edge tamers look like they'll come in very handy for our Vermont winters. Keep 'em coming Tim and family.
Thanks for watching, Walt!
Great edge tamer demonstration. Katriel Dad should have rode in the bucket for that foot and leg chilling experience. Lol Thanks for the video. Take care and God bless.
Hey, we each have our 'roles' :-)
thanks for the information about the edge tamers, got a pair (4") , they work great on my gravel driveway.
Edge Tamers have saved my Gravel drive area fantastically. Yes, use the discount code.
Such a refreshing channel Tim. Thanks for the great videos. Lots of helpful info as always. Keep em coming.
Thanks for the kind words, Mike. Appreciate having you aboard.
Great stuff you all !!! I really appreciate you all taking the time to film for us !!! Pray no one got frost bite!!!! lol. Tim we are blessed men to have loving and caring families!!!! Be safe you guys and God bless you all !!!!!!! Eddy
I almost forgot!!! How is Christy ???
Still hobbling. That is good. This way she can’t chase me down with that frying pan!
Mighty Moe Excavating likes edgetamers and saving grass. Your camera shot out of the bucket is awesome you should ride on it more often looks like fun😃.ty for the entertainment
love my edge tamers. they also worked great for removing moss in my back yard
Bolted on and awaiting some snow! Unfortunately the day started at 61* in Pittsburgh Pa. but the cold front is changing that rapidly 🌬! The low tonight is 19* ... Crazy 😜 3”-5” is forecasted
Ps. R2 Manufacturing = 👍🏼👍🏼 two thumbs up!
Hey, I'm in the Pittsburgh area too and looking to buy those edge tammers (and extenders) for my tractor. Which area around pittsburgh do you live in?
Great video Tim
Yikes, 10 degrees! I know that hot chocolate was good. The logo now appears in the middle of the scree at the end of the video - that is cool! When I get the new tractor, I will get tamers. Thanks for explaining the level indicator.
I put the logo there for potential subscribers to subscribe. we change it up once in awhile in the end screen.
I have a set on my fel Kubota b2650 cab. Used them on my gravel driveway, they work great.
Thank you for the link kind sir keep up the awesome videos
I use them on my Massy 491 with a 72-inch bucket. My level indicator died so I set it on level ground and use a paint mark on the backside of the bucket to reference level with somewhere on the frame. Before that, it was trial and error to keep the skid shoes from having an excessive angle. I love it. jg
Another great video Tim. We got about 2" of sleet and then about 10" of snow here in western KY this past weekend. I burned 2 tanks of fuel in little john but had a blast doing 14 driveways plus the neighbors appreciated it. Maybe they won't get to annoyed with me for always being on the tractor. lol
Nice to see the edge tamers in action! 65 here today! Not bragging! Good video!
Ugh! Keep your comments to yourself! Just joking. :-) We had a warm spell, up in the 50’s, but it is gone now. Back in the teens.
Enjoying your participation on our channel!
Spring fever. Ive got it too!We had 55° in the Mohawk valley(ny) today. Snows gone till tomorrow.
Good job Tim & Katriel. Enjoy the hot chocolat.
katriel ...nice to see you on the tarctor bucket...hope to see more from you on the tractor/tractor bucket and tractor hood...girls like to do this cool adventure
Great vid Tim Smile More God Bless Stay Safe Guys 👍
Nice video tim and katriel👍👍
Great video
have used them on loading manure off of blacktop to keep from digging up the blacktop also used them on snow but we dont have that much snow here so used them very little there are you stacking snow so Katriel could build a snowman?
I just purchased a two set of tamers for my new BX 2380. They will arrive in a few days. I bought them after I saw the interview Tim had with the two brothers who own the company. I have a concrete driveway but am know this will help prevent any damage. Winter in northern Ohio is just around the corner. I will give my snow blower to my daughter. Won’t need it anymore.
Hello Tim. I have those edge tamers on my 1025r and really like them. Best attachment I have for moving snow. Take care and be safe.
Yep! They work very well!
Yep ordered just before Christmas on backorder but waiting patiently for them. May have them now but on road and have not called home to see. I have a circle drive that has gravel under grass so wanting to see them work. Will let you know if I get home with snow on. Also have a ruttes in another driveway where I park my truck. I did not straighten it up on purpose just to check the edge finders out on it. Will let you know how they work. May even do a video on it. If I can figure out how to upload a video on CZcams again I will.
Sounds good. They will be worth the wait.
25.000 subscribers!!! Wooohoo 😊 Congratz 🙂
WooHoo! Thx!
I'm now leaving the edge tamers off for my asphalt driveway to get a good clean surface. My asphalt sealer is nonexistent, so no worries there. Tamers are essential for gravel lots. I would say that, if I had some reason to clear a yard, I would probably just buy another set of edge tamers to keep both edges and center of the bucket from scalping the grass (or even very lumpy gravel).
I'm thinking about getting a set of these tamers for my bx tractor specifically for snow removal. I'll probably get a snowblower eventually, but I've spent too my $ this year and I'll need to put that purchase off for a year or two. Think these tamers will get me thru the winter with using my bucket for snow removal? I'm in Massachusetts and we can get some large snow storms... or get no snow at all.
Yep. You are the perfect customer for the edge tamers. They really work great!
What you need is a blizzard, 3 feet of snow, now that will make a great video. You working, us watching.
Hey now! Watch it!
Actually, a 3ft snowfall here would break all records.
Nice work, thoes do work well. My Dad should get some for hit kubota. He has a gravel driveway and the bucket always rips it up on the first snow clearings.
Yep. Would be a big help.
They work great
I bought a set for my Branson 2400H. Got everything ready for snow and wouldn't you know it? NO SNOW! Can't wait to try them but may have to wait until next winter.
We’re just now seeing snow regularly. Started later this year
I have a set of Edge Tamers, they work well on my 1200ft gravel drive. My only problem is not having a level indicator. So I went up and down the driveway a few times with the bucket not level in float mode. They gouged some ruts in the gravel, which really is no big deal, it is operator error as well. I still have them on, but find that my 72" Woods rear blade is quicker than the bucket.
You could probably design your own bucket level indicator. Pretty simple technology really.
I have a set of edge tamers for my 1023e and they work great on my limestone drive.
Great to hear!
We ordered ours yesterday.. 3 week lead time!! We currently have a homemade clamp on the bucket plow....hope the edge tamers will replace it!
Yeah, the 3 week delay was a bit of a bummer. Finally broke down and ordered a set and by the time I get them, the snow will probably be gone.
Throwing this out there, can these tamers be used in the summer? Reason I ask, you should see me try and scoop or scrap the level ground with dirt or rocks I'm trying to pick up...
If you ever watched me pick up with my loader you would suggest I attach a snow board to each edge....
Funny you should ask if they can be used in the summer. Watch for tomorrow's video. 11am Eastern Daylight Time. You'll see them in action on a summertime project :-)
Enjoying your channel Tim, I can see now you will cost me more money. Ha ha I just bought a grapple after watching you with yours. Lol
Thanks
Oh my! That is BIG expense!
Nice video I wish I had snow it supposed to snow on Sunday but nice vid
I see a set of edge tamers in my future. We don't get enough snow to justify a snow plow so these will be perfect. Katriel looked like she was having too much fun dumping snow on you.
yea, we had a good time. They work well. hard to make them dig in...easy to keep from digging in.
Okay, all BS aside, I bought these and they are phenomenal, can't work without them, fantastic idea.
Thanks for the feedback, William!
Bummer cause I bought my edge tamers before I saw your 5% discount. I don't mind cause I used them to push all the dirt off the lawn and back into a 20 foot long ditch and they worked perfect and I had no sod damage at all. The dirt that was left I was able to clean up with a rake. I did notice that one side was twisting a bit so I used a thick piece of rubber under the bolt and tightened it down even more and it seemed to work better
Wow that bucket seems to do a good job on my kabota tractor it can’t fit half of that your bucket is very impressive
Just ordered some edge tamers. Had 3 shoulder surgeries in 2017 and can't use my arms to get my blade out of the boxes and mounted on my 1025 so will just use the bucket with the edge tamers once they arrive.
Where are you located?
just north of Columbus Ohio
Hi Tim I bought the edge tamers for my 1025 and they work well but while clearing my driveway with the lever in float I lose my steering abilities it’s as if the snow pushes the bucket down and the front wheels lift off the ground
Yes, makes sense. I often see the loader begin to push down when in ‘float’. You may have to take it out of float and lift it up a bit sometimes. Float works pretty well, but it is not perfect.
I’m looking forward to using my new edge tamers. I have a 2320 with a 62” bucket and a crushed concrete drive. Just waiting now for a good snowfall in Central Michigan.
Oh and I did use the TTWT code.
Surprised you haven’t had a big snow up there!
We did before Christmas everything is gone right now
Tractor Time with Tim, I ordered before Christmas, and we had a good 9” just after Christmas, but the tamers didn’t arrive until about 5th of January. Plenty of winter left though. Almost makes me wish I lived in Lake effect territory. lol.
You’ll get your chance, Dan!
Might be the way I plow my driveway when I get my 1025. We dont get enough to really warrant a seprate implement just for plowing, but every 6-10 years we get hammered with a 12-18in blizzard. My current husqvarna garden tractor wont be able to take care of that if it happens while I sleep lol
Plowing snow with our 1025r is great when you don't have a whole lot of snow. We got a big storm not too long ago that was a real mess. Not having the trip protection is a big thing. Regardless of edge tamers or not, large rocks do catch the edge and just brings the loader up and you not moving. That and even taking shorter passes, I find the loader not being able to keep up and leaves a big mess. That and having no angle to windrow the snow is another thing. I'm sure it would work better for just a driveway. But I live in a dirt road. Snow blade is more practical. And on the truck haha. By no means am bashing edge tamers or the 1025r loader. It does ok for snow removal but I love the cleanness that a blade provides.
I've used the bucket for snow removal for a few weeks of fairly consistent snow in central New York State, I tilted the bucket as directed in the manual, pointing down a little to keep from scraping the bottom of the bucket. In soft, unfrozen ground, it digs in unmercifully. On asphalt, it scraped so badly that even at slow speed and in the float position, the front tires want to ride up at any speed. Once a film of snow/ice was developed to provide some lubrication, it performed much better and did a pretty fair job of providing a clean surface without damage. I then got the edge tamers and found that though it didn't scrape the snow clean, it was fairly effortless to clear snow while maintaining control of the tractor (no front wheel lift). I think that if you use the bucket, you really need the edge tamers, particularly if you have a gravel driveway, cracks, etc., but even if you don't. And they have utility for moving mulch, gravel and the like, so it is a great value. Buy it! Having said that, I've concluded that the bucket is an inefficient tool for snow removal and just bought the AF10F blade from JD, first use is tomorrow, 10-17" of snow is expected, so it might be back to the walk-behind snowblower, but we'll see.
Yes, very good comment. If you can get by with the bucket (light winters, or small driveway), the bucket is ok...but only with the edge tamers. However. If you can afford, a blade or pusher is much better solution.
Waiting for my tamers to arrive.
Wonder how they would work on a front mounted snowblower.
Those end plates seem to work pretty good. But you need to cover the top of your stacked wood. Snow water soaks everything.
Looks like the edge tamers work perfectly for this kind of work. Watching your videos kind of makes me want to have a compact tractor for myself someday. What happened to the logo? I see the old one is back. Did you "scrap the logo" again for a different one?
we brought the old one back as the avatar. Seemed we were gaining less subscribers with the new logo.
We still really like it. We'll keep working at it.
Thanks for sharing, I'm going to order them now!
Don’t forget the secret code :-)
I went ahead and ordered then for my kioti .... 3 weeks before theuly ship...
Yea. Sorry about the delay. They are beginning to catch up.
Any thoughts on needing chains for traction on slopes with snow?
We don't have much slope, so no input. For us, chains totally unnecessary.
Will these scuff or scratch new pavement? I just used my tractor to clear snow and it left long scratches/scuffs all over my paved driveway.
They will not scuff nearly as much as the bucket alone. I haven’t noticed any scuffing...but I cannot make any promises.
I just got my EdgeTamers and load tamers installed! Waiting on some snow.....
waiting...waiting...waiting :-)
How do you back drag I have to back drag because how my garage and house set any ideas would be helpful it’s my first year with the tractor used 4 wheeler before
Not easy to do so.
can't wait to get mine...!!! you need some Bucket Wings....
R2 says the backlog is shrinking.
Tim hi this is Brad wanted to remind you about the diesel purge procedure for Johnny it would be very beneficial for you to do that the best thing I can say is referred to CZcams videos but I did leave you instructions on the previous video you did it to your three videos back of your videos
Was pushing snow without the Edge Tamers. It's takes a bit of experimenting to get the bucket in a good position to not shave the top on the ground. Then after each dump of the bucket, one is back to trying to get a good bucket position. I will be ordering the Edge Tamers. I should say that the 3" are on backorder. Edge Tamer says it's due current demand. Here in Minnesota, we don't plow snow off the grass, but it's a good example of how non destructive the Edge Tamers are. Oh, at -25°, my JD 3025e doesn't like to start, so plowing is saved for warmer days!
I wouldn’t start very well at -25 either!
Thats what block heaters are for
Ya, one would think! Even with the block heater plugged in, it failed to start. Put a trickle charger on overnight to see if that will help today.
Thx for another vid
Katriel, IT COULD BE WORSE. LOL. (EVIL LAUGH).
Hey Tim.. Do you use ANTI-GEL additives to your fuel in the winter ??
Not typically. I have my tank filled during winter months ….when the provider is using ‘winter blend’.
When you say it's "in float" what do you mean?
I run a 42 inch snow blower attached to my riding mower on a gravel driveway. I wish I could have edge savers on that.
It means that the hydraulics are allowing gravity to control the loader. So, it will sit on the ground with no additional down pressure. Make sense?
Tractor Time with Tim Absolutely, it just sound a little space age when I should have been thinking farm age.
Ha! Yea, float setting has been around for 50 yrs or more. Definitely not space age.
You got more snow then we did. I used a broom on our patio. Tractor wouldn't climb the stairs. Still snowing though. See what it looks like tomorrow.
This was that same snow from last video. We got about 2-3 inches this time.
Going to farm show this year?
Haven't decided yet. You going to be there the whole show? It also depends on weather.
Good Job Miss Katriel!!!! Gotta give ya a high five. But you needed to get more on dad. lmao.
I bet she's the only one in her class who knows how to work a machine like this.
Hey Tim, crazy question, but I wonder if they make an edge tamer, of some sort, for a blade? Would come in handy for when transitioning from pavement onto grass pushing the snow back to make room for more snow.
I’ll ask.
We get that question a lot. It's something we're considering, all in due time. Right now we're focusing on making Edge Tamers for double bolt-on edges, and then on an entirely new product. But maybe for the next winter season we can have something like this available!
Aren't those called skid shoes ?
Edge tamers. Edgetamer.com
Where is the hot tub???? And the four wheeler????
Man you may have to mow now!
Guess I will be trying Little Blue out in the snow this weekend. I may wish I had ordered a pair of edgetammers.
Yep. You’ll wish you had. You also need a cab. I think I might use big John if I were you!!’n
Last CT scan showed more growth in my liver. Doctor said I'm not a candidate for surgery or radiation at this time. Trying yet another chemo to see if anything positive comes from that. I've not been as run down, or had as bad side effects with this chemo on a positive note. Thanks for remembering me.
The cab is nice on bigger JD but not 4 wheel drive though. I did bundle up and use Little Blue this morning with great results. Four wheel drive and smaller size makes a big difference, especially since we had a little ice under our snow here. BooBoo was happy with his place to go outside too, couldn't have done that with bigger JD.
Thanks for the update, Philip. Sorry to hear the news
Glad to hear you were able to get out!
Love them!! Just need a tractor now. 🤔
Another part to add to my wish list. I'll just present it to the finance committee as a way to clear snow from the gravel driveway without buying a blower or snow blade. =)
Exactly. Should be a relatively easy sell. That is the best part of the edge tamers. Low cost, and effective.
Already order a set using the discount code, they seem to be back ordered for 3-4 weeks however... Not sure winter will still be going strong by then, but I also do allot of mulching as well during warmer weather and I HATE gravel in my mulch loads! I might do a video of that or some snow removal with them installed if the circumstances are favorable. Nice video!
They are telling me that the backlog is coming down. They are finally getting used to the TTWT generated demand :-)
Ordered mine mid December, shipped today so it took a bit, thanks
Thanks to Tim, we have been backordered, that's for sure! But the local trades we use are getting their numbers up, so we hope to have the backorder significantly reduced by the end of January. Right now, it's about 3 weeks, whereas around Christmastime it was extending to 4+.
I'm patiently waiting, it seems to be a a very nice product for those of us with gravel driveways and Tim did a very good job getting the word out! I have had many different kinds of snow removal tools from snowblowers, plows, the loader I currently have, and my rear grader blade. All of them do some form of damage either to the property or to the machine, but this product seems to do the least amount of damage I have seen yet! I am looking forward to trying it out.
Well after this video I caved and bought a set of 4" tamers. I wounded if they are backordered like the 3"?? Great vid as usual!
I do not know, but I doubt that the 4” is seeing nearly as much delay as the 3”
I'm happy to say, after fighting backorders all winter, we're finally cleared, no more backorders!!
That Yanmar engine sounds good.
Looks cold
I like those edge tamers, but I don't get snow...ever!
You are awesome katrel
Located In Upstate N.Y.
someone please help me!?
put on 3 edge tamers on my New Holland Workmaster 37
Unfortunately I was digging up dirt and grass.
I thought maybe it was wet under 6" of snow. so I tried my gravel area and again I was picking up stones. ?????? I can't be the only one?
Jay, maybe post a video showing how you are using them. There is no shortage of folks here who will criticize (I mean help point out any usage errors). It is possible that there is some technique needed.
What size are those? I just ordered a set for mine today & went with the 4". I have the same tractor & fel as you do here.
3"
Hope you used the TTWT discount code.
@@TractorTimewithTim No, i didn't! Didn't know anything about it
Never know what you might find if you would watch the video!
The Edge Tamers are a good investment. used the john deere 1023e on our gravel drive way and work well..
Could you see the Edge Tamers working on a rear mount blower that doesn't float?
If you can get them attached to the blower, yes!
The 3 point is actually ‘float’. It does not use down pressure.
@@TractorTimewithTim thanks!
Or ground mole bumps,, in the grass could also be a possibilty
We try to keep the moles away. We had one (or some) a few years ago, but none recently.
Good vids
Nice I order my GEL I will order tamer to pickup black walnuts this fall
PaK
Two Rivers Wisconsin
What size of edge tamers do you recommend for the 1025r
2x 3 inch. If you have really uneven driveway, maybe 3x 3 inch. ...but I used 2x with no issues
Tractor Time with Tim thank you
