I saw their Vegas performance the first year it opened, and it truly was fabulous. He is not kidding when he speaks of the fast pace and overwhelming energy expended. It was the same year he won on Dancing With the Stars....his finale performance on it was the one he does (or did!) on stage. It was well worth going to see, and even tho they are prob a dozen years older now, between the talents of both Donny and Marie, it's well worth seeing. Extremely entertaining.
What a guy. I worked for his family at the Osmond Theater in Branson. We were the band's publicity agency. I met George and Olive (parents) once. They were at the theater getting up on the tour buses that came in. People loved it! George gave me a great compliment that day that I will never forget.
What was the compliment?
Donny was my first crush in the early 70s. I listened to his album over and over and swooned over "Puppy Love". My mother took me to his concert in downtown Nashville. We had nosebleed seats and I didn't hear one word he sang because of the girls screaming. What memories!😊
I love the part around the 53 minute mark where Donny talks about deciding what is good for you and realizing what will hurt you. He is so right. His parents were such a good influence on him.
Donny had some issues with his Father. He won't admit that his Father was kinda abusive. Donny at a young age missed home. Missed being a normal kid and his father didn't want to hear it. His father made his money off his kids. Donny was hurt and he suffers from anxiety and depression. So suffers the same way. Donny looking back now says he has no regreats
@@cheri7054Yes, I remember an interview he gave, and I can’t remember who he was talking to and it’s the most he said about that old man of his! IMO his dad was a one if those Mormon tyrants! Too bad Donny didn’t rebel and leave. And to think none of those Osmonds didn’t! They may be famous but I wouldn’t want their ‘childhood’.
@@Melinda8162 What kind of Father would allow Donny or any of his kids to continue in a business that Donny really didn't want when he was younger. Donny and really all those kids grew up to be unhappy. Yes, they have their great moments but still.I think Donny was afraid of his Father.Donny has said his Father was strict.
@@cheri7054 Because the parents were making ;big $$$$!!! Oh! I remember something : Donny said he found out when he was 'older'(like 20 'something') that he didn't have any money!! And they been working since kids! Finds out old man 'invested' and 'lost it' and they needed to get working!! And they still defend that old ogre??
@@Melinda8162 I also think the record label or an accountant stole their money as well. Father was a bad manager. If you notice many of these brothers got sick. Some with MS and others with cancer. I think stress play a role in their health
This was good, but if you want to see a really raw Donny Osmond, check out the interview Piers Morgan did a few years ago with him. It was the best interview of a celebrity I’ve ever seen. Talked about the truth of Donny’s childhood- how hard it was. Donny was very emotional. Incredible interview.
I saw that, too. Hands down, the best Donny Osmond interview I've ever seen!
@absolutelydisgusted3319 I saw that interview with Piers. It was very good and very raw. Donny made me cry. Sounded like he had issues with his Father but refuses to admit some resentments. He can still respect his father yet still be open about it and express anger or disappointment
Donny and Marie always were on point and very sharp and genuine in interviews. Hasn't changed.
I met Donny in the late 1980s when he lived in Irvine just before we moved away. I have know lots of stars in my life. Donny was different. He was completely genuine. Nothing weird about him.
He's a star! I loved his Donny and Marie show.
Marie was so hot on it!
What a great interview. What a great guy. Love Donny Osmond. We saw him in Chicago when he was touring with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. When he sang Close Every Door I was just blown away by his talent. What a voice.
My mom and I saw him in Joseph at the Chicago Theater, too. He was fabulous!
Donny could run for office and win. Very likeable and believable in all he says. never any scandal with him.
YES! I agree. I’ve said similar about Tom Hanks & Dwayne Johnson. IMO they’d win hands down.🙏🏻
@@SweetDreams706Yeah, and Henry Winkler- those people who are good people and deserve more than most!😊
I would vote for Donny, but not a Democrat. The Democrat agenda is pure nonsense and delusion.
I met him. He is as friendly as he seems. Unaffected and lovely man.
I agree 💯👍
He's so open, honest and real.
Your name Donny isn’t poison or a joke. I will always love you 💜💜
That 15 min improv/song request segment is one of the best parts of a very entertaining show. He actually comes into the audience and mingles. Even the very back rows have a good chance at being picked by him to request a song and a possible dance. He is definitely one of the last great entertainers.
You have to admire an attractive man in show business for 60 years with not one scandal.
Morals and integrity will do that.
RIGHT?!?! No doubt I would be speechless and DROOL if I ever met him!
It's never too late
Getting away with the songs he sings is scandalous enough. Singing Puppy Love at his age now is as ludicrous as Michael Jackson singing I Want You Back and I'll Be There at age 8.
Donny's show in Vegas in 2023 is so fantastic! It moves fast enough to keep your interest and is so wonderful in each section. Donny is in such great shape and dances like a young adult. His voice is so beautiful. So many careers in one man! I just love him and his resilience and love for his fans. I hope he performs until he's 100!😊❤
With regard to a Firefighter retiring after 30 years (say he/she was hired @ 22yrs.old)...Being a Firefighter is a young persons job in all respects- It's physically and eventually, and more importantly, mentally draining, You see the worst of what can happen to good people- From responding to a families home and dealing with their loss due to death, vehicle accidents, injuried/abused or the death of children, picking up elderly who are tragically alone, homeless/vagrants/drug addicted, etc... 30 years of responding at all hours for that and anything else you can think of-takes a toll... It's NOT the entertainment industry.
Entertainers aren't running into burning buildings!
You don't have to explain it to me.
I worked at a place where an off duty detective came in on her day off around noon. She was wreaking of alcohol.
I felt so sorry for her.
I cannot imagine what she experience's on her job.
Thank you for risking your life for the public.
I love you Donny Osmond. I'm 63 and I have loved as long as I can remember. Talent, Handsome, so eloquent, I wish you would run for public office? I could listen to your interviews all day. Bless you Donny
What a great interview with Donny Osmond, Adam. I really enjoyed it.
Learned so much more about Donny. Donny is so down to earth. A true inspiration to so many especially me.
Thanks, Adam, for having such a great guest! Back in the day lol I was team David Cassidy, my sister was team Donny. (I will say I had a thing for Merrill and Jay, but I digress.) Over the years tastes change, or rather more is added to the menu in terms of musical entertainment, but Donny and his brothers were always in the mix for me, thanks to CZcams. In the last 7 years or so I've done a deep dive into their music, and besides their extraordinary talent, I'm always taken by how genuinely kind they all are. I was excited upon hearing about Donny's upcoming tour, then sad to realize he won't be anywhere near Fort Worth. Maybe they'll film his show, who knows. Not many concerts in my future, alas. Anyway, this was a great trip down memory lane for me. Peace and be well.
Donny was phenomenal on the masked singer
He should have won!
Surprising great interview, didn’t know much about Donny but I like the guy a lot now, enjoyed the whole thing 👍🏻
Ditto.
Seems like a really grounded dude
I knew it was you that voice is good. ........ oh donnyohdonny........... 😊😅😅
He's the rarest of birds. All that talent and in the game since 1963 when he was just a kindergartner, ZERO scandal in all these yrs, has been with the same woman since the height of his fame when he was just 16 yrs old (she 15), married her @ 20 and "waited for marraige". He's never gotten a big head about his success. I don't think there's ever been anyone like him in the industry... Just a very grounded and sincerely good person that truly deserves everything he's worked for.
Gracious, classy Donny seamlessly made a potentially bad interview into a fabulously entertaining one. Not a Carolla fan here….tried, wanted to…just can’t. Donny on the other hand is truly a pleasure & a treasure. Too bad there aren’t a million more like him.
Absolutely one of a kind in an industry plagued with excess, narccisiism and swarming with sharks.
Great respect for you Adam. Loved this interview!
I saw him in Detroit about 15 years ago, one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!
He speaks very well. Gestures and uses emotion. He did give up no matter what. He figured out what to do. He had faith to do it😊
Great interview! I grew up watching the Osmonds on The Andy Williams Show.
Me too!! (Are we admitting we are that old! Yikes! 😂)
I retired 7 years ago at 57. I loved my work but I love to do many other things now.
Yeah for most people, the decades of work take a toll on the body.
Great show! I so love Donnyy Osmond and he and Adam work off of each other so well!
Always liked watching Donny Marie and when Donny sang with his brothers, watched him on Dancing with the Stars, it was great Actually Donny is going to be performing in Northfield Ohio on July 28th 2023 .Not that far from were I live.from Akron, OHIO
Excellent interview. Well done. Kudos to Donny!
Believe it or not The Osmonds' 1972 album 'Crazy Horses' is a great rock record. Donny is very underrated.
Amen, Very Talented Family !! Someone like Ted Nugent said it’s the best rock album ever !! ?? It’s good stuff. Thanks 😊
Who said he was underrated?
It was a terrible record. Let’s just be honest. It was absolutely horrendous
The entire group of brothers, minus Jimmy, could have had a more diverse rock career, if not for the fact that they were marketed and promoted as a "bubblegum entity" for an entire generation of teen girls back then. Merrill had the voice of a true rock lead vocalist, and Jay was one of the best drummers in the business at that time.
wow - I just took my mom and sister to see him this past Saturday - I wonder if this was filmed while we were there. His show was SO, SO good!!! I would definitely go see it again. I'm only sad we never saw him and Marie when they were there for over a decade. I luv him so much!!!!
I saw it a couple of years ago or so and it was great.
The Donny & Marie show at The Flamingo was soooo great! This show of only Donny at Harrah's is even better, dare I say. You don't have to be an Osmond fan to love his show.
Donny is just so likeable.
Eminem being a superfan was just the cherry on top
It's Donny, not Donnie.
@@lianelayman6584 ok
Donny digging in to Ace after the 3rd time Adam tried to frame his questions about Mormonism was great.
Donny bringing up his 90 + grandchildren was perfect!
Love this guy. Hope I can see him in person someday.
Great interview with a wonderful singer, performer, husband, father, and living legend, Donny Osmond! He is authentic and has deep integrity in all he does, sprinkled with a healthy pinch of humour! 😊❤😊
Used to be GLUED to the TV for the Donny and Marie show I think Friday nights?? Our whole family watched and enjoyed!!❤❤
I think that your name holding you back has made you the wonderfully refreshingly non ego filled interview. I don't remember when I have enjoyed an interview so much. Donny Osmond. Who knew.
A testament to clean living. He looks excellent
Not sure what I did for this to come my way, but glad for the opportunity to see your interview (in full) with Donny Osmond. Thank you both! We're all about the same age (with roots in the SFV.) Thank you for sharing this. His Vegas show on the road will be appreciated by so many.
I have watched the interviews with Adam and Donny and gain something from every one of them. Can't really put my finger on one particular thing but I love his straight forwardness of his talking about his religion and his struggles with different aspects of his life which kind of correlates with life in general. Thanks Adam. Corolla.
Well put the Ace man brings the best out of others. But he stands his ground on certain topics.
His parents raised a decent person who just happens Tobe very talented and likeable. Good luck with your tour Don, have a blast!
Wonderful interview!!!! Thank you Adam, and Donny ROCKS!! 🤗
I can understand firefighters that retire in their 50’s before their back and neck and knees start deteriorating. But many others can benefit from continuing to work in some way that isn’t going to effect their bodies. Also I really liked the interview with Donny Osmond.
i just stumbled onto this video. I was very impressed by how well spoken Donny is. And i like his ideas and thoughts on judgement. I think it might be interesting to point out that the Lawrence Welk Show was filmed at an amusement park in Santa Monica POP (Pacific Ocean Park). I learned about this because the only picture I have of my father was in front of a fountain that was located there. And I didn't figure that out untill 2019. And have since learned a lot about that place. I am guessing that the Osmonds would still have gone on to become hugely successfull. they just wouldn't have had that very interesting story to tell about being discovered at Disneyland, doing the back and forth with the barber shop quartet?
I grew up in the "puppy love" years and you have to sdmire his adaptability, longevity, demeanor and talent. To be scandal free for over 60 years is insane!
Donny Osmond is a living legend! What a nice guy!
Great interview. Awesome to see the ins and outs of your crazy industry.
Life long fan. Great interview 👋👋👋
Thanks to Mark and Brian KLOS radio los angeles in the 90s, I became a fan of Donnie, such a great guy, so humble, and candid, a total pro, a class act, and very wise.
I knew it was Donny on the Masked Singer from the 1st clues and then when he started to sing, it confirmed it.
I met him in Hawaii. He was very engaging and funny
Donny is THE coolest...and funny!
A Great Interview with Donny. He's SO down to earth and very professional in Dress code and speech. HaShem has blessed him well.
Love the man! So talented!!!
This is a great interview. I appreciate hearing from Donny Osmond. I didn't realize that my perceptions of him were not right --- all based on my second and third hand information and not actually listening what he had to say in an interview. A level-headed, sane person who has survived Hollywood and the celebrity lifestyle. I was surprised that Michael Jackson told him that his name was box office poison.
Donny even offered Michael and his family respite at his home for a few weeks and privacy when things were going badly. Michael never called him back, and 6 months or so he was gone.( I might be off a few months.) They were close friends even if they didn't see each other often.
Just saw him July 26 in Kettering, Ohio, Best show I have ever seen, he is so talented! Of course been a fan since I was a child.
Loved the interview.
True story: When I was a kid my dad managed a shop the Osmonds ran to employ handicap people. The Osmonds were so nice and really cared about these people.
Donny is a professional an entertainer that exists. I'd love to sit with him over a beer and just... wait, sorry. I'd love to meet him and talk over a cup of Joe... wait, sorry. Maybe a nice dinner. But conversation with Donny is always great. I really admire his long term success.
Donny was my first true love. At 12 and 13 years old I spent many hours listening to his music and daydreaming about him. I’m glad he turned out to be the real deal for real.
Interesting interview. Excellent.
I sat up front for the Vegas Show. I hope he comes to PA, because I will see his show again.
He has at least 2 shows in Pennsylvania this summer.
He was my very first love!
Mine too!
I remember Donny being on a late night tv show in Australia ( cant remember what show) in 1988 ' after being interviewed ' he did a song and part way through he knocked the microphone stand over and it crashed onto the floor ' I think he picked it back up and carried on.
donny is more than human, kind respectable person, he comes from good stock, stock that doesnt exist today, sad but true,, honest and real , there family has had some problems but its all being human in society and as normal as can be ,,, great interview
"We're better than this." I got tears that they both stepped back and ended up having the best show that night.
Kick ass interview sir
Alright! The last Donny Osmond interview was great. I'll bet those one is good too.
publicly dude is living the dream HOWEVER, donny must have seen the dark and evil side of Hwood, especially as a kid
Adam, invest in some chairs dude. LOL! You two couldn't look more uncomfortable.
I was thinking the same thing haha
Corolla you’re killing it on these interviews man I talk about it at the job site
Look at Tom Jones. In his 80’s and still sounds great. Donny you still look young and in good shape. You’ve got another 25 years to go.
I wonder if 'telling your story' gets boring after the first 1,000 times. Poor guy! Can't interviewers come up with something new and fresh to talk about? But, not everyone has followed Donny for the past 60 years, so I guess he will continue telling the same old story. He's a good man!
Donny is fantastically talented and more importantly his family culture in the Mormon faith is golden
Donny is a national treasure. Only thing that would have made this better was if Adam wasn't such an apathetic interviewer...
You're right. He can come across cynical and disenchanted. I think it's due to the hard road he has travelled.
he's fine, always the same. thats him. he is genuine
Donny is excellent!!
Years ago i saw a local band in Indiana where i lived all my life.....they did "Crazy Horses" by the Osmond Brothers. They did a great job i always thought. But this local band really rocked it up.I knew who did it originally but no one else did. These guys pretty much did it in like a metal song and it sounded great and the guitar work and drums were smoking hot.Thats the only song i ever like by this family.
I remember loving the movie ‘going coconuts’ when I was little
He and Marie cringe at the thought of that movie, Going Coconuts. I liked it too!
Imagine Micheal Jackson without the horrible family and drugs. That's Donny.
Some horrible family, their father was very very strict. Corporal punishment was the norm.
Impressive guest
I just retired at age 67. It was a physical job, I wasn't sitting on my ass, talking to people, or having people adore me. I have social security and pension money and I'm very happy. I'm in good shape and everyday is Friday
Crazy talent!! Incredible!!
Corolla is getting schooled on pop-culture a little bit love it
❤❤❤❤❤❤DONNY OSMOND 😊
“Tito, Jermaine and Janet?” 😂🤣
one of those osmonds use to deliver my newspaper...little bastard broke my window..glad they found work....
When I was about 8 y/o, I donned the Osmond Bros look and used to sing Go Away Little Girl even wooing the loosest girls of my second grade class 😉
60 fuckun years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................
Donny, is a puppy love kind of name! Donny sounds like a teenager!
Know what Donnie Osmen well to me he sounds like Rick Dee's it's because they are from the Med.West part of America , Thank you, Adam for hosting Donnie keep doing what makes you happy Guy
Donny! 💜💜💜
Loool....I live near Nordhoff and Van Nuys and I am Donny's same age. I remember him along with David Cassidy and had a crush on both.
I watched the D&M show every single week without fail. I was 12 when they began in 76. They were so awesome! I had a HUGE crush on Marie and basically a man crush on Donny. I just LOVED those 2 beautiful people! They were my introduction to the LDS religion along with my new neighbors who were Mormons. I joined the church at 20 yrs old and have been an active member for 40 years now. I didn't get to see their Vegas show and really regret not going! They are such great examples of how LDS people should live their lives. The Lord has really blessed that amazing family! They deserve every good thing that comes their way!!
I re-created myself from chasing IT! Carpentry is the second chapter of my life and I love it
If Donnie Osmond had never done anything but "Puppy Love", he would still be cool.
I saw Donny In Tempe back in 89... Jody Watley Nena Cherry... If I remember correctly. So much hairspray n hair
A tale of two shows one with Donny one without.
My 19 year old luvs him
I remembered them on the Video Village Square game show. I think 😊
Love Donnie
