I agree with the whole “ English isn’t the default”. I don’t know why I thought it was before I started language learning.
Currently trying to learn Spanish, French, and Japanese since the beginning of the year. Super motivating to hear that I'm not insane.
I’m trying to learn French and Japanese as well
I am trying to learn welsh BSL and Bemba😊
Good luck
Those are the 3 I'm trying to learn as well
Three of them are incredible and beautiful languages good luck 😊
1. I am learning Korean because I love South Korean culture and media. The language sounds very "familial"- it feels like a language you would use with your extended family during reunions and holidays. I really like languages with a homey feel.
2. I will listen to podcasts, write poems, read news articles, read the bible, and change my device language to Korean
3. I will avoid relying fully on apps like Duolingo and actively use the language daily. I will focus more on vocabulary instead of grammar.
4. I will schedule study times with my study buddies
5. I will focus more on output. I will talk to myself in Korean, write in Korean, and other things to immerse myself in the language.

I feel you plus I have a job. But I’m graduating early and I’m giving myself a gap year to learn Spanish.
I want to learn ASL because I'm a first responder and I feel like it's essential in healthcare.
I'm using flashcards to learn the basics like the alphabet.
I'm going to avoid giving myself a time constraint.
I'm going to keep myself accountable by trying to use the language on an everyday basis

1) I'm learning Spanish not only because it's taught in school but because I'm interested in it for travel and other things
2) Strategies - reading the Bible in Spanish, listening to podcasts (I'm following a few right now), watching CZcamsrs in Spanish
3) Traps to avoid - only focusing on grammar (especially with classes in school)
4) Maintaining streaks & getting my friend to keep me accountable
5) I think in the next 7 days I can make it a goal to have a conversation in Spanish or journal in Spanish once a day!
Love your content Annie, thanks and keep up the good work❤
hii, im also trying to learn spanish, started off with duolingo today..i actually learnt a bit of french for 6 months (not so consistently) but yk the pronunciation is really difficult and i figured I like spanish better! Could you please tell me if learning spanish using duolingo is enough or how else can I learn spanish? I'm also a full time student so I'm pretty busy.. Thank you!
Can you recommend some podcasts in Spanish? 🙂
How's your progress so far?
as an spanish native speaking, sometimes even for us it's difficult to understand the bibble in our own language. I admire you! it would help to you but some of vocab that are included aren't part of our day by day!
don't stress yourself if it's getting harder! try with easier books and series!
Hi everyone I speak spanish, I'm from Colombia and I want to learn english If someone want to practice with me, language exchange.🎉
Currently learning my 6th language. I discovered in middle school that learning languages is very easy for me so I made it my mission to learn as many languages as I can. My goal this year is to learn 2 more languages. You’re video is really inspiring me, since by the time it’s hard to motivate me to study. Thank you and good luck on your journey! 😊
What languages can you speak?
Jesus loves you!
@@realisticc1 I speak German, English, french, Spanish, swedish ( forgot a lot tho, need to study again 😭) and now learning korean.
@@blossomgal I learned English, French and Spanish in school, so it was kinda "forced" which is good tho, cause self studying is sooo exhausting haha and I think I wouldn't even have discovered my passion for languages. So anyways, what helped me to actually be good at it was my motivation. Motivation is in general a huge thing when it comes to learning a language. When it comes to self studying like korean and Swedish I mostly use books. I tried different ones from Talk to me in Korean or from Pons. I recently bought a new book for studying and its soo good, its called "korean grammar in use" (if you're interested in learning korean idk haha). Now I am doing a language course in Korea which is helping me a lot. In general I try to use all the languages in my daily life like listening to music, watching Movies or CZcams Videos. And for me the best thing to learn and practice is actually self talking. I do it everyday. I just talk to myself and imagine different situations. Its actually helping a lot to improve my speaking and conversation skills. And its helpful especially if you dont have friends or someone you can practice speaking with.
@@blossomgal Oh and I dont really use apps. Right now I am only using Duolingo to keep up a little bit with my Swedish since I didnt bring my grammar book to korea haha but Duolingo is really not it. The only thing you learn is vocabulary. But for grammar I would always and only rely on Books or YT videos.
I was in a Spanish immersion program for about 5 years before they phased it out, but i genuinely believe knowing Spanish at a young age influenced my grades and ability to learn. Languages are awesome!
Aahh annie, i felt so happy when you started speaking portuguese!
I’m brazilian and i love seeing people from different countries learning Portuguese!

seeing your progress since your trip has been INSANELY impressive. this video is going to be a resource for so many people!
1. I’m learning Spanish because it’s mandatory at school and I think it’ll be good for my career plus it’s fun to learn. I’m also learning Korean which I’m doing for career purposes and also it’s fun to learn. 2. For Spanish I take lessons and practice on my free time and for Korean I am doing a course. 3. Learning the language without talking and listening. 4. Setting goals 5. Making sure I do my Spanish homework and practice more as well as watch a movie in Spanish. For Korean do my course.
where are you from?
1) i am learning french, because i want to comunicate more with my dad. I am also a B2 in english and trying to improve to a higher level, so also training my ability.
2)i will use fun but also effective ways to learn.
3) getting burned out or being inconsistent.
4) just reminding my goals and the use of the language. My affirmations positivity.

I loved this video. My target language for this year is English, my native language is Spanish and Turkish is my second language but sometimes it’s really difficult for me as a medical student to find time to study languages but this year I want to overcome this mindset and achieve my language goals.
Some of the problems that languages learners face are not using the things their learn because no one talk the language in their environment. Sometimes when I learn something new in my target language I want to talk about it and share it with someone but cannot because no one knows English in my city. I don’t have any feedback and that makes that the learning process becomes more difficult and slower.
sorry just love that you’re a medical student👸🏽 you’ve got this!! I actually just started learning Spanish, good luck with your journey
I am in physical therapy school right now so I understand. I tell myself to at least "appease the bird" (do one lesson in Duolingo) and I can build up from there if i have time. Many people in my class are interested in learning Spanish so we made a club; we haven't been meeting lately but we will still post things we find helpful.
For my Japanese, I am on the fence about studying for the JLPT, especially since the window to take the test is so small. I end up listening to podcasts more (including medical ones I have found.) They just put out a book for healthcare professionals so I have a dictionary, so to speak.
With both my languages, if I make it applicable to my future job, the less it feels like I am taking away from my studies. The dialogs for medical settings are limited here but they are relevant. Just make sure any listening activities are less than twenty minutes, better if under ten. Any longer and you can burn out and putting them on repeat is difficult.
What useful language-learning ideas! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for them :)
Oh my goodness you are brilliant at languages!!! You are such an amazing role model!!!! Thank you so much, you motivate me to pursue my dreams of learning multiple languages!!! Lots of love, from England!!!
Love your enthusiasm,Annie.
1| I am learning German! I found a lot of great German songs that I wanted to sing along to, so that’s why I wanted to learn German at first. However, now I’m quite interested in the language and I want to travel to Germany one day!
2| I’m going to go back over the basics and make sure I am pronouncing the sentences correctly. And I have this German book that organizes a 30 day plan, so I’m going to follow that and review.
3| With learning German, the main trap is people discouraging me from learning the language. They say it’s aggressive and harsh when in actuality it’s not, unless the person is angry , then yea it’ll sound harsh. Just like in any other language.
4 | My German friend is helping me learn German. So she’s a big help, she helps motivate me to want to learn more. She’s teaching me German and I’m teaching her English. One day I want to talk to her in German.
5 | I will actually stick with the 30 day German plan, learn words on index cards that have to do with the planner, my friend quizzes me on articles for words, and I get on Duolingo for a little review. Now for pronunciation, I record myself saying a sentence in German and I send it to my friend.. as embarrassing as it can be.. I’m less embarrassed about it. Plus, I am getting a lot better! Progress is awesome! Haha thanks for reading. :)
Do you know what that German planner book is called?! I’m also interested in learning German and was just wondering if it’s a good resource for me to have also.
I took German in high school and I never understood why people had the stereotype of it being an angry language beyond war movies (because they are usually the bad guys.) I think it sounds beautiful.
In contrast, I think French doesn't sound beautiful at all; it sounds like they are talking through their nose. French and Spanish were more popular.
@@EcstaticTeaTime I’m not a fan of French either, I don’t like how it sounds. Spanish, I liked it but I got bored of it quite fast. German has always been a fun and beautiful language that I would like to process on with. My motivation for learning German is a lot higher than what people are saying about it. Plus, I want to speak German with my German friend, and travel to Germany one day! I wasn’t that interested in Spanish that much. Also, because I had trouble pronouncing the words. German isn’t that bad as Spanish was for me. Aber viel Erfolg mit Deutsch lernen! :)

Thank you for helping the families in DR
1. I am learning Mandarin because learning Mandarin offers many opportunities for personal growth and I want to be able to communicate in the world's most spoken language. I am also improving French because I live in Belgium and French is important here because there are very few people who want to learn Dutch.
2. I will use Duolingo to get the basics of Mandarin and later on I will try to listen to podcasts, CZcams video's etc. For French, I will try to speak it more with my family, I will read books and listen more to French music.
3. I will avoid only focusing on grammar and getting burned out. I will avoid wanting to quit and even if I want to I will push through.
4. I will use Duolingo every day for minimum one lesson to learn Mandarin. I will remind myself of my goals and immerse myself in the languages.
5. I will try to find someone who I can learn these languages with. I will find a show to watch in French. With Mandarin I will focus on input, with French I will focus on output.
Im also learning mandarin and french!
I’m fifteen and trying to learn Italian! What I do is once a week I’ll take a video of myself saying “week 1 of learning Italian” and try saying some things in the language! It really helps and so has your video!
Sounds like you’re doing great! I agree that it’s good to learn the languages that you are more likely to be able to use in real life. That’s mainly what I’m sticking with these days.
Recently I’ve mostly been usinq apps, videos, dialogues, and newspaper reading to improve my languages. In the past I had lots of lessons with teachers (online and off), but I don’t really have the energy for that these days.
I’ve doing mostly maintenance of Mandarin and Cantonese (which I also have to use very day in real life) as well as more active study of Vietnamese and Spanish.
Thank you so much for this video annie! it always makes my day when you post. I am in a DLI (dual language immersion) program in my school for spanish and have been speaking spanish for 7 years now, this video has given me so much motivation to focus on studying it more than I currently am outside of school. I have recently been getting interested in learning french, so I'm going to try it out and see how it goes.🙂🤞
1. I am learning spanish and french, because they can help me with jobs in the future and provide a way for me to challenge myself while increasing future opportunities. (and cause its fun to speak to others in different languages)
2.I am going to start by using duolingo to start learning french, and use study materials and watch shows and movies for spanish.
3.I am going to try to stay consistent so that i don't give up or forget about it by adding it as a daily task in my calendar.
4.I am going to stay accountable by using the structured app on my phone to send me reminders of when it is time to practice daily to make it a habit.
Thank u so much for the tips, I'm brazilian and I started to learn spanish last week and I think your tips will really help me
so grateful i came across this video
#1- Im learning Bemba and Nyanja because I'm going to live in ZAMBIA for 18months as a missionary for my church. so excited!
#2- A strategy my dad taught me was to record myself saying the phrases i want to learn, so when im driving or walking i can listen to it and yeah! its so helpful :))
I only have 5 more weeks before i leave so heres to turning up every day and trying my best!
Your videos always bring a smile to my face!
Amazing video! I can’t express how much I love this.
I’m also Chinese and I’ve always wanted to improve my Mandarin for my family and friends.
I’ve also learned French since grade 4 because I live in Canada.
Still trying to learn more, bu this video definitely helped
What an amazing video Annie, I intend to continue my Portuguese studies hoping to reach a B1 level at the end of the year and I just started gathering ressources for German, let’s keep up the work 💕
It's really nice to know someone's learning my language (portuguese). Boa sorte, Annie :)
I'm learning Latin, because I want to learn a highly inflected language. It's difficult to learn because objectively it's a difficult language, on top of that it has no native speakers, but I really really want to learn it.
Im learning Spanish and Korean. Spanish because my elder brother introduced me to language learning with it and i got hooked (more like I'm intrigued, I want to see myself become fluent). Korean because I'm into Kdramas and the Korean language is cozy. Like it feels like im being encourages whenever i hear it. I simply love the language.
2. Up till now my only strategy was just keeping a streak on learning app but now im going to venture into reading books and learning vocab from them, then shadowing daily.
3. Ill avoid the trap of being stiff necked eith a strategy even when its not working. Like trying to do what other people are doing even when it doesn't suit me.
4. Ill make practice videos every month to keep myself accountable ( yhats the only system i can think of right now)
5. I'd follow a shadowing account right now
1) I am learning Spanish because I live in Europe and it is one of the most spoken language of the world.
2) Probably apps, reading books, and watching films in Spanish.
3) Make it a chore.
4) Practice everyday step by step, it's summer break so I FINALLY have free time :)
5) I will start by checking what I already know in that language, to make sure I know the basics. Then, I will try to go further by using apps etc.
I love that you started learning Spanish and Portugueuse in particular because of your faith community! I honestly learn languages because I like how they sound but I'm practicing my Spanish with Spanish worship songs and sermons, and I only want to learn lingala (congolese language) because I wanna understand their worship songs and the jokes my church friends make in that language lol😂😁
Songs and sermons in Spanish just hit different lol I’m a Christian and a native Spanish speaker so…
Great advice, thank you.

I’m 23, fully into my career and I live in the US but a few years ago I started really getting into Russian/Belarusian/Ukrainian bands, all of which sang in the Russian language and I wanted so badly to learn to speak it. I am no longer a student but I miss learning new skills outside of work so I am embarking on my journey now. This video helped motivate me a lot and gave me a lot of good tips!
I'm literally just getting started with Russian, any particular bands you would recommend? I've found listening to music so helpful when learning German.
@@nickeeeta Sorry I’m just now seeing this! I’ve had the opportunity to speak to some of the bands I listen to so I’m always trying to get everyone else to listen to them because they were all such nice people :) I love the band Увула, as well as Источник. There is a Ukrainian band called Corn Wave that is really good, and I also like Молчат Дома (just saw them in concert in the US too!) and the band Ищейка is my current favorite. The songs Лета не было and Слоудайв by Ищейка rock. Hopefully that helped!

1- I’m learning Japanese to be able to speak and have casual convs with Japanese speakers and be able to watch the shows I love to watch in japanese. I’ve been wanting to learn a language and this is the one I want to start with not end with.
2- The strategy im using is building a sable foundation for Japanese by practicing the alphabet’s by writing/memorizing katakana(カタカナ) and hiragana(ひらがな). And while I keep writing thm to memorize I’m going to start on learning vocabulary to start understanding more while heading in the direction of understanding more while listening or reading but by starting to form sentences and learning grammar here and there.
3- While I learn Japanese it’s it own language so as I improve I can start reading definitions in my target language to use more words they use naturally and I and flow and speak better.
4-I am dedicating time everyday to practice the characters of Japanese and by practicing on my vocabulary.
5- I will start going in on vocabulary that is commonly use and use them by seeing them on n person and say they in Japanese in my head and out loud and by writing thm down.
I'm currently trying to get better at Spanish and learn Arabic. I really want to learn the latter because of my religion and because it is such a beautiful language in itself. I used to study Spanish at school and I want to become fluent. This video motivated me a lot to stop procrastinating on that!
gonna start learning french this summer after my exams, im mainly learning it to comunicate easier with family, and friends (most of my friends speak it)plus i feel the need to learn this incases of abroad travelling.
Currently my plan is to use more video/voice based tutorials and listening since ive found it an easier thing to start with then break my way into speaking and reading.
i would say i avoid limiting my french lessons to just online resources but rather adapting my day to day things in french to get more comfortable with it.
to keep myself accountable im just gonna tell my friends im learning french lmao, once i tell them they wont dare let try quitting especially since they speak it so often they'll just altogether start talking to me in french.
I am currently taking french in middle school, and you motivate me to not give up!
Amazing video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.
I'm currently studying French and Japanese and haven't made much progress after starting like 3 years ago due to not having enough time and procrastinating
1. i'm learning korean because it feels like a comfort language, and i'm a huge kpop and kdrama fan, and if i ever go to a concert or smt, there ain't gonna be subtitles telling me what's happening. (i also rlly wanna visit south korea.)
2. i'm gonna start with busuu and coursera (maybe). i'm also going to try to listen to more korean content, and when i watch kpop content/kdramas, i'll listen more than i read the subtitles.
3. i won't spend too long over things that seem pointless irl (ex. grammar conjugations no one actually uses).
4. i'll get my friends to keep me accountable and hold a record of what days i study it and what days i don't.
5. i will start lessons on busuu and focus on picking up vocabulary when watching kpop content/kdramas, and i will write them down for future reference.
1) I’m learning Korean and French. Korean because I am korean and it would make it a lot easier to communicate with family. French because I’d like to see France and experience that culture.
2) I will probably listen to podcasts and watch CZcams videos. Practice speaking korean with my family more. Hopefully I’ll be able to read books in French and Korean.
3) Avoid going all in and burning myself out quickly. I think practicing everyday and slowly increasing the amount of time I spend will help me avoid burnout.
4) I will write out my goals where I can visually see it everyday
5) I will start using a little bit of duolingo and find study materials that will help me to start conversations
As a very busy student these days, i needed this 😭
Thank you very much
This vid is so timely! Being a college student keeps me busy, but I don’t wanna let that stop me from learning languages. I’m Latina & would love to better communicate w my family. I’m also trying to familiarize myself w Korean.

I worked on my Korean for 2 years on my own and I have just started learning Spanish for the last 2 months. I make sure to focus more on my Spanish the last few weeks as I am not as conversational at the language compared to Korean. 1) I'm learning english and korean because english is a really useful language and it's the international language so you need to know it and korean because I really like K-pop and I would like to travel to korea and understand what they are saying without the subtitles.
2) I study english at school and by watching a lot of videos on youtube and I study korean with apps like Duolingo or Teuida and by watching series.
3) I don't want to focus to much on the languages and be obsesed by them beacause I could be bored and never try to learn them any more, I also don't want to only focus on grammar and vcalubary but also on prononsation.
4) I will try to studyy a litle every day and put a reminder on my phone
5) I will try to be able to introduct myself and talk about me in korean and and continue to talk to myself in english
Thanks you so much for your videos, it keeps me motivated !!
I love this so much. I want to learn Romanian for the same reason you want to learn Mandarin. I also take Spanish in school so I'm interested in that. I always feel so guilty when I talk to my grandparents and can't have strong conversations. Especially since I always accidentally use Spanish cause they are so similar. Love this video. Hopefully my Romanian and Spanish will improve :)
I am learning Spanish because it’s a language i’ve always been interested in. I am starting on Duolingo learning all the basics and grammar rules and then i will do a deeper dive. i will stick with it and i will do it by keeping a streak. And incorporating it in my day
1. I'm learning italian because i want to work in the fashion industry and its a pretty important language in the buisness.
2. For now I'm mostly uaing Duolingo and watching movies I love in italian, am working on finding youtube channels or podcast in italian
3. I will avoid forgetting to do my duoolingo or relying only on that app
4. I will keep myself accountable by keeping my duolingo strek and making it a daily task in the Finch app.
Loved the video!
someone else who has finch!! hello :)
@@kumori_77 hiii im so happy I know no one who uses it
Adorei que você está aprendendo português brasileiro!! Thank you for the video ❤️
-languages
I'm learning French because I enjoy it and would love to be able to communicate around Europe & in Africa! I'm also getting started in Korean because I find the culture super interesting and want to live / study there someday :)
-strategies
I'm learning French in school right now & using apps to review, speaking as much as possible! I have a friend who I can speak French with as well and it's a blessing! As for Korean, I'm using a workbook, several online resources, podcasts to learn vocab + pronunciation.
-pitfalls I'll avoid
I'll avoid setting goals that are just way too big and unmanageable. One step at a time!
-accountability
I have a specific goal for 2023, and every month I'm breaking it down & expanding! writing this in a journal really helps :)
Thanks Annie for posting this, I've been so passionate about learning languages + cultures lately!! perfect timing :)
hey there! I’m learning both French and Korean too right now. Maybe we can exchange contacts and keep each other accountable and help each other out!? :) no pressure ofc
Hi ! I'm french, I'm learning english and I am looking for a penpal !! Are you interested ?
Currently learning Spanish,
I mainly use mass input, a little bit of direct study via apps, books, audiobooks / podcasts, and videos / movies, and then speech practice of “shadowing” native language recordings,
My main trap is the “Quitters Day Effect” where I lose steam from burning at my goal to fast (referring to new years quitters day) and my adhd says “yea no motivation for you. So I take 2-3 days off and get back on the ‘tren’, only other trap I have is Dyslexia…
I only stay accountable so I can talk to my friend with more progress and efficiency, she is a native Spanish speaker and speaks english too but she said she could help me learn Spanish.
1) im learning portuguese!!!
2) im doing duolingo lessons right now, sometimes i ask my mum to translate when she's on call with her sisters. i want to start watching films in portuguese with eng subtitles or vice-versa.
3) focusing only on getting a good duolingo streak!
4) maintaining the streak, funny enough. i also have a habit tracker on my notion page.
much love to you annie, thank you for being a key motivator in my life to become a HPS!
girlll i’ve literally been watching you since those treadmill videos in 2020 and our interests have matched up again! i do have some completely unwarranted advice though
maybe you have other goals you didn’t broadcast, but i’d recommend setting goals besides attaining fluency. i’ve found that having specific goals really helps, and although there are things some consider as “”proof”” of fluency (knowing 10,000 words, passing a test like JLPT or IELTS etccc) it really is vague. maybe you could make a goal to have a conversation with your parents or finish x amount of books
and i’m not saying this to crush spirits or anything but with a year and a half + the fact you are learning multiple languages i think fluency-if fluency to you is speaking and or understanding your target like you understand english-is next to impossible
and also, for me my confidence about how fluent i am changes a lot. i also forget just how much work it took to get to where i’m at (reading books w 1-2 lookups per page, almost completely understanding shows with target lang subtitles)
i’ve been learning japanese (i was in 7th grade i should’ve choose something different help 💀) for around 3 years but thought it had been like 1.5 recently… i really forgot about how much time i put in, watching like 20 j-dramas over one summer literally not understanding that much!
but yeah, it was very hard to tell where i was at because knowing more makes you aware of what you don’t know
and sorry that this has turned into a rant but yeah i’d just advise against fluency as a goal, sorry if this was just something you kinda said and i’ve been giving an essay for no reason 😭 you’re really smart though so i’m happy to see where you will go!
Wow it's a sign for me to continue learning Spanish thank u Annie
Keep going! becoming fluent in Spanish is super rewarding! You've got this!♥
1. Arabic because many of my friends are Arab and speak Arabic, plus my uncle and grandma both speak Arabic and I would love to be able to talk to my family and friends parents without a big language barrier; Yoruba because it’s my native language and many of my extended relative speak it as their only language and though I fully understand my first speaking language was English and so I can barely speak it; Spanish because I recently went on a trip to Mexico with my family and could not really enjoy outside of the hotel vicinity because we couldn’t understand or speak Spanish so I made a promise to my parents that I would learn Spanish before our next trip back
2. Listening to podcast, music, watching CZcams or shows in the target language and speaking to the native speakers around me
3. Arabic - not picking a dialect and learning it but also not learning some vocabulary in other dialects
Yoruba - not asking for corrections and not learning how to write or read the language
Spanish - only learning grammar skills but not learning how to implement them immediately in conversational speech
4. By communicating (either speaking, texting or sending voice messages) to native speakers but also learning with a friend
5. I will create a plan or schedule for the next few weeks to keep myself accountable and organized, get a notebook or writing system, implement my immersion systems and try to talk and read out loud in the target languages
Parabéns pela sua dedicação para aprender português, você está mandando muito bem. Sou brasileira e estou aprendendo coreano e mandarim, muito obrigada pelas dicas.
O Brasil tem
1) 3 Institutos Confucius do governo
da China.
2)!O curso da Sra. Liao Sisi do canal de video Pula Muralha
1)I am learning spanish, japanese and german. I want to be able to talk with my mexican and german friends. I like japanese culture and I like the sound of this language. I also love practising my brain and I want to travel to those places and be able to communicate well.
2) I will focus on surrounding myself with the languages more rather than just doing duolingo lessons
3) i will avoid 'shortcuts'
4) i will log each language revision on my whiteboard so i see it all the time
5)in 7 days i will find a partner to speak spanish with
Learning Irish is really hurting with the show part 😭😭😭😭
I've been learning Spanish and Portuguese and i love the journey ❤
1) Learning Zulu because it’s my mother tongue but didn’t speak it growing up and I’m in university now and struggling to connect with people who do. French and Arabic because I’m doing a language degree and those are the modules I picked, it will be taught at an advanced level so I really want to be able to keep up with my university work.
2) Watching content on CZcams in that language in my free time, reading articles in those languages, listening to podcasts and speaking with native speakers.
3) learning so much vocabulary that I will not use and not retaining new vocabulary.
4) I will have reminders to practice each language daily for an hour.
5) Start watching CZcamsrs who speak that language right now and immerse my social media experience in those languages.
I started learning languages for travel/work purposes and to gauge how much I can focus on remembering after a major medical instance. So I'm learning languages on the African continent and some in the diaspora. I'm learning Xhosa, Zulu, Haitian kreyol, French, Spanish, Swahili and Yoruba.
Hi Annie happy Wednesday afternoon and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your language and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of
1) i’m learning german and danish. german because my school only offered three languages courses and i really enjoyed learning it so i’m continuing. danish because my friend is from denmark and she challenged me to be conversational in danish before may.
2) i will read and write in both languages and speak with friends i have that are fluent. i will attempt to find a show to watch or a podcast to listen to
3) i will try not to be too obsessed over grammar rules because i do that a lot
4) i will make sure to read and write everyday in my target languages and i will try to speak my target languages everyday
5) i’m thinking about getting some fairytale books in either german or danish so that i still vaguely know the plot line and i can figure out words from context clues.
1) I'm learning english in the moment and i'll learn french very soon, because i love this language and i'd like to travel the world and meet new cultures, and maybe study abroad. I did english course but i don't liked and i learned anything, so i decided learn english on my own.
2) I listen podcast, watching classes videos here in youtube, news and vlogs, and study vocabulary in lyrics musics.
3) i'll not try get upset when can't achieve goals and don't charge me so much.
4) I will practice everyday, not procrastinate, stick to my goals and know a low start is necessary.

1) I'm learning danish because I love the language and because I want to move to Denmark when I'm an adult. I also want to start teaching myself french for school and because it's a really cool language but it's not my main focus at the moment.
2) I have started out with Duolingo but I will start reading texts and articles in danish ( I'm swedish so I have an advantage here since the languages have similarities ), watch some series and movies, try to find someone who speaks danish, listen to podcasts and try to find youtubers that speak mainly danish.
3) Losing interest in the process and focusing to much on grammar
4) If I find a danish friend, I will try to get them to keep me accountable and I have scheduled time in my day for language learning
5) I will serch up the most popular and used dansih words and try to learn the spelling and pronounciations.
