27:38 Mario:Omae wa mou Shindeiru.
Koopa-Guard:NANI?!
I remember when I was a child when I played this: I used to be so slow and so careful, and then chuck my controller across the room, leaving a hole in the wall when I got mad.
Feeling stupid years later when I realised how ignorant I was.
And now impressed more than ever watching this game get owned. I love it.
I didn't think I was gonna watch the whole thing, 49 Min 48 seconds later, I'm writing this comment.
i never seen anyone speedrun like this before your skill just incredible ,i really enjoy the whole thing
Anh Tuan Lam Check the description, it TAS.
18:25
i know lol
Junsung Lee lmao
He used save rom to do this
Mocking the BGM on the final round of World 4 with overlaid SFX. Pure class. TAS is a true art form.
17:15 I've always thought that one of each card should have been the 5-up bonus. It's really hard to do that
yeah and 3 mushroom cards is the hardest and only gives 2 1ups, where getting 3 stars is mindblowingly easy, so easy it takes a concerted effort to avoid them, and gives you the most 1ups
I thought that 1 of each should be 2 at least lol
Man i love these kinds of speedruns, entertaining and somewhat funny
I like how you made that entertaining. Nice touch.
The jump sound with with music at 18:00 and the 18:52 fire noise with the music LOL! OMG! Awsome...
15:10. That Sledge Bro kill is amazing.
Yay!!! OMG I have been waiting for this!!!
My lord how games have advanced since I was young
I love this guy when he's messing around on the airship! XD
Very awesome. Nice job... you have some sweet skills there.
I Love The Big Boss Bass stages really keeps you on your toes
Your sooooo good I'm leaving a like
you make it look so easy =) i love it
Wait and this masterpiece was 11 years ago? That’s amazing!
WOW, that was really fun to watch!!
mario was just messing with the koopa army the entire game xD
Loved the dance you did at the end of bowser
i remember the awesome soundtrack from this game.
classic.
23:39 Great use of the Starman powerup. I would have never thought of it.
Yep, you're absolutely right, now that I think about it. Thanks for the reply.
I like how he plays with the fire and bolts on the airships. And jumps around the wrenches.
You are truly amazing!
Dude the 2-way fireball at the end of World 3 Boss was Sick!!
@kimonji It's faster to grab them at the bottom rather than higher up, because you won't be falling as long.
But if you manage to grab it on the very top of the screen, as done in world 6, you'll be able to fall down instantly.
Sweet. Very enjoyable.
me 2 ! u r one of those top ranked Mario Players for me ! +1 !
This is frighteningly good.
That was so awesome!!!! :D
@Tomtelala Not all the stuff in the video is practically possible in normal play - wall-jumping for example isn't likely to work out because it only works on every sixteenth frame and requires frame-precise timing. That said, I used to use the corner duckjump to save time in Bowser's castle, but ironically the corner I used wasn't even visited. It never occurred to me to duckjump into any of those other places.
I love that jumping on the first airship.
Very impressive
world 7 is absolute hell
That's exactly why i am watching this
Same
Rougeyoshi and his vids would make any straight man think twice about switching teams.
awesome run. i love this game. 50 min to beat smb3 without using warps wow!!!
Along with using the help of a computer. The point of doing a TAS is that you can manipulate the controls pretty much however you want, in ways that a normal person could not with a controller, which is why they are always MUCH faster than a regular speedrun with just a person and a controller.
wow, impressive didn't know there were so many glitches in the game^^
I remember the old SNES days. That level 4 was a real pain in the ass.
I like how he is on the world 4 ship and he jumps and stuff to the beat of the music.
@beastlycharizard13 Everything done in the video is possible on console.
You do it by duckjumping with some speed into the corner, there has to be a ceiling above you for it to work.
TAS at its core means that the movement was programmed ahead of time, so it doen't have to be slow motion or other stuff (even though most of them do)
What was that rhythm going on the world 4 airship?
I've played Mario 3, watched others play, watched other TAS's, and it wasn't until this one that learned of that point/hit streak that gets you free lives. Bitchin'!
The world 4 airship level was hilarious. Mario was jumping to the song. lol
This was made on my birthday!
@KronicCow This is played without cheats as well.
i love that you dance to the victory music after beating bowser hahaha
Wicked man!
I like how whenever Mario is on an airship, this guy plays the level like Mario is on crack.
Ah, TAS...will your wonders ever cease?
awesome
Whooooo , true !!
World 3 boss island looks like Japan, i never saw that before !
thank you
@burns985 You = four different persons. This Tool Assisted Speedrun was made by a team. I suggest you actually read the description, it's there for a reason :).
@videodude23 This is the original NES version.
@mariosunshinefaan Dude a TAS is when they complete the game on 100% in the shortest time as possible
Haha, I like how she jumps in time with the music!
AWESOME
I really like the TAS concept. I'm glad people are doing this and not caring what the "purists" think.
You made one level in 6 seconds. It takes 6 seconds for me to realise that level just started.
I used to drive my friends nuts playing like this when I was 9. Obviously not as skilled back then but non the less I flew through the levels and they all hated me lol.
@wkukicksbutt If you duck under a block, and then stand up again, the game is made Mario should be pushed to the right in order to not get stuck.
A wall is made out of a lot of 16*16 pixel blocks. If Mario lands between such blocks, with the right speed, he can either makes a wall jump or if he duckjumped, Mario can stand up. If you choose to stand up, and there's a ceiling above you, Mario will then be forced through the wall to the other side.
I hope that helps to explain it =).
genious really
omg thats the best thing of this video
AMAZING!!
Speedrunns are great! Your Performance is epic!
(btw. Safe States where used though? Does it mean, that this Video has been cut or is it really a oneshot?)
15:13 , icecold XD
do ya think you can do one of these beating EVERY level not skipping levels that CAN be skipped
LOL at the dance at 47:19
cardog kitchen 47:19
@CassandraLeo I have been able to walljump at will at several occasions. Sure, it is very hard, but it isn't impossible to do.
Same goes with the duckjumping through walls. If you are good enough with the timing (Which I'm not however) you can make it very often.
A TAS doesn't make thing that are impossible on console. It only adds input to the game and if you use this input (Which is very very unlikely, but doable in theory) you would get the same result.
good job
2:35 Holy shit, Mario boarded our shit! ABANDON SHIP!!
2:08 the sound of the coins goes with the music
On the nes version of the game it takes the same amount of time regardless of the wands possition as long as you get it before it bounces.
My favorite game
This is tas everyone don't think that this is a god
LOL @ 18:15 and 18:50 XD
Incredible vids, 5 stars :-D
he actually does stuff to the music through the whole ship :p
like a boss.
thats all i gotta say
The Best!!!!!!!
@nintendoaz ITS CALLED A TOOL-ASSISTED SPEED RUN OMG PEOPLE SERIOUSLY DONT COMMENT UNLESS YOUR KNOW WHAT IT IS YOUR WATCING
@SuicideCamel Read the description, it says tool assisted.
I'm talking about the hands on world 8 that randomly forces you to run extra levels. In order to get a perfect game you need to luck out on these and after having like 5-10 close to perfect runs ruined by them it would be a small miracle if one didn't just quit in disgust. :P
The Dance at 24:05 LOL
@1010109764 I was talking about Adelikat, the person who actually did the speedrun... not RogueYoshi. Of course, if Adelikat is male, then it's my mistake... but how many guys would pick a screen name that ends in "kat"? :P
Ok that World 4 bit made me chuckle @ 18:07 , 18:23 , 18:47
This is Mario's most bad ass manifestation.
@KronicCow I know, I was just saying...
Yes, you're right.
@styx87 yes
Ugh, I always hate water levels. But the game is awesome! And this video too!
@DarkGoombossX you do know that lava doesn't hurt you right? It's just there to look cool. It's really just a hole.
@zasau02000 I see your point.
Because if he got three he would have to watch the star animation where it shoots up and gives you five 1-ups, which adds a considerable amount of time to the run.
@fisher4930 right. cause the game was really hard to begin with
So much swag
I didn't know you could just unload fireballs on Bowser. Guess you really DO learn something new everyday.
This is so fucking funny to watch!! Laughing good here! Remember plaing this as young and this is just hillarious.....
Anyone else than me feeling like going outside, running really fast and jumping on goombas now ^^ ?
Dood I remember this place used to give me HELL when I was a kid.. And he's making a freaking music video out of it and playing on it like a playground!!
