How to reset error code U4 (VRV4)

error code : U4-01
Error code U4
System Comunication Fault.
This is a communication issue between the indoor and outdoor unit's.
This fault can be caused by the outdoor unit being powered down or a BS Box or fan coil
also bring powered down.
When any of these things happens it cause confusion in the communication protocol and stop everything communicating correctly. Please check and restore power to any equipment if this is the cause.
1)check all indoor unit power supply
2)check outdoor unit power supply.
3)On back if any switch trip and reset outdoor unit
4)If any indoor and outdoor part's incoming is okay, please check the pc board or communication wire
5)If pc board or communication wire is faulty, please replace it.

Same here on 20+ years old Daikin inverter. Power cycle of the whole equipment "fixed" the error. Weird... but thanks for the idea :)

This just happened to me. The unit is mounted pretty high up on the house so I just killed power completely. Waited 120 seconds and made sure all the breakers were set before hitting the main so everything came on in sync. AC back. Hopefully was just a glitch from a bad breaker we had last week.

Bon I have a VRV4 that gets the U4-01 errors 2-3 times week. When we cycle off the unit it works for a couple day and then the error comes back. What are your thoughts?
Check indoor unit got link to smoke detector or fire alarm.
May the alarm cause error U4.
By my experience,the kitchen smoke detector intermittent short circuit cause aircon erreo U4.

In vrv 4 unit ,, connected 12 indoor unit and only 1 unit show u4 error and all 11unit cooling ok . What's the problem?

Check the remote controller main/sub setting
If wallmounted,please check the main/sub switch at receiver pcb

I suggest you manual pump down better.

Hi vrv 4 model 18 hp master and slave unit I'm changed for control pcb for master unit then I'm switch on the AC AC start but 10 number indoor that all AC is bringing for timer what's the problem
What is the error code, you try off and on back power supply,afterthat need to test run.

Off outdoor power supply and on back , press reset button.
If the indoor pcb faulty, suggest u take out the communication wire and reset.

今天check 到一台4mks 80 三台内机blinking 出U4 . 发现CU control board 没有灯显示。reset了也不行！不确定是filter board 还是control board 坏！直接让他换了台外机！

Hello sir, I have a similar problem, when I try to perform a test operation by pressing BS2, in T01 I get the error U403. I have 6 cassette and all with thermostat, with 1-10 it recognizes the 6 cassettes, and when I perform the test 2-05 it also works for me, but the starter does not perform it. how can I solve that. If auto charging system, you need to auto charging after that test run

If yes,check the DS1 and DS2 setting.
