I can say with all my heart (and ears) that this is one of the closest VA to the analog sound and feeling.
This is a demo of patches 1 to 60, 75 to 80 and 90 to 96 (made on the run, sorry about that). No audio processing was made. I used only the internal effects (delay and reverb) of the Nord Lead 4. Patches are including 1 to 3 morph variation.

Great demo, i have the first Nord Lead and i love it... especially the melancholic and dreamy sound you can produce with it. I have also the 2x version but i did never like the sound character. It sounds so boring and the sound does never fit into tracks with other synths. Now i'm thinking about to buy a NL4 instead... whats your opinion there? Or would you go for the A1/NL3?

Something I would love to see demonstrated are patches focused around the wavetables on the NL4. A lot of patches are more focused on analog emulations but I think the NL4 can really have its own voice if more people focused on the Wavetables.

The NL4 does not really have wavetables. It has a bunch of digital waveforms.

I keep hearing little pops n clicks, thinking at first my interface was glitching out. Was a little relieved it was in the audio track - Just after 4:28 ..happens repeatedly throughout

The Virus is more versatile, but the Nord keyboards are more classy.

For pop, yes, the NL4 could stand better, but it’s also a matter of taste. Try them both and see which one’s for you.

Closest to analog VA is not Virus, not Nord Lead, not Ion, not Radias, or any other but the Arturia Origin.Simply because Jup8, MiniMoog, ARP2006 and CS80 modules (OSC's, VCF's) are used to create sound on a modular basis. Wich does not mean that the Nord sounds bad at all !
